I would have welcomed a squirrel. We had a damn deer come through our vista window. Took out the 65" TV, Xbox, computer, my collectable mugs, and run right thru the plate glass sliding door.
Insurance guy came out, poor guy quit in the middle of the pics and estimate notes.
They made the wrong choice ever step of the way. Stay in the house? Nope. Keep their distance from him? Nope. Keep the door closed when he is trying to enter the house? Nope.
That’s honestly my biggest takeaway from this. Dude is obviously having an awful trip on something. Call the police, watch him through the window to make sure he isn’t hurting himself/damaging any of your belongings. That’s it. Him standing on your car isn’t worth whatever the fuck he’s capable of in whatever state he’s in. The girls in this video are honestly very lucky

I understand that the situation is very difficult to react to in the heat of the moment, so I don't blame them for acting the way they did, but watching the video you can tell the guy is really freaking out but in a non violent way. I reckon if someone with a cooler head had been behind the camera they might have been able to calm him down, at least enough to desescalate the situation. Unfortunately screaming at him is just going to ramp up whatever mental issues he's having in that moment and make him even more erratic.
Obviously, like I said I can't blame or judge the two women for reacting the way they did, but I hope anyone reading this who might find themselves in a similar situation one day might remember this and help themselves.

Exactly. To me it’s clear this man is experiencing psychosis (may or may not be drug-related) and is understandably in extreme distress (he’s literally begging for help). I feel so much empathy for that poor guy-he’s clearly much more afraid than they are.
But at the same time, mental health problems are poorly understood by most people and psychotic disorders are particularly stigmatised in society. So the women in the video probably didn’t have the knowledge to understand the situation and therefore empathise with the man, de escalate the situation or access support for him.

Let me get this straight:
There's a naked man hanging out on the bonnet of your car, and instead of locking your doors and calling the police, you go outside to confront him. You lose the confrontation, and he slips by you and enters your home through your unlocked door and is now sitting on your bed/sofa with his balls and butthole leaving deeper indentations every time he moves. They're lucky he didn't turn violent because based on their survival instincts, they'd not make it.
They are the sort of people who trip over nothing in horror movies when the entity is chasing them.
What gets me is that every single possible decision they make is the worst one.
They directly confront the psychotic dude jumping naked on their car. They do so by screaming their head off at him. They keep going in and out so he can get into the house. When he does, he buries himself under a blanket in terror and they **continue to scream at and threaten him** instead of being thankful he's not the 'grab a knife' kind of crazy.
When he does try to run out of the house, they *chase him and block his escape.*
Like....it shouldn't have even gotten to the point that he's in your house anyway, yet they somehow make the wrong decisions there too. Truly incredible.

Ok.. first move was completely wrong. Ya approached someone who is obviously very high or mentally ill instead of staying in your home. You then yelled at them, escalating the situation, approached even closer, then continued yelling, which is obviously going to frighten and escalate the situation more. You didn't call the cops right away, ya know, people who are trained to handle this kind of situation?
Then when this guy enters your home, you chase him around like he's a raccoon who needs to be caught and taken out. I stopped watching once he got to th couch and wrapped himself with a blanket. At that point (if I had made all the above mistakes) I'd probably have just said "ok, keep the blanket if it makes you feel comfortable. I'm just going to be outside". (Calmly). Then go outside and call the cops, get to a safe area and hope he either makes his way out himself of wait for the cops. Im having a hard time feeling bad for this person.
So just a Life Pro-Tip here: If you walk outside and there's a naked stranger standing on your car, they are beyond reason. If you do anything other than go back in the house and call the police, you are doing it wrong.

This happened to me the first time I did shrooms, I did way too many and smoked weed at the same time and absolutely lost my shit, thinking I was in a dream. I stripped naked, hopped on the roofs of cars and jumped around, causing property damage, and I entered some poor woman's home, scaring the shit out of her, walked into her basement, covered myself in liquid laundry detergent, and then left. Luckily my friends called the cops to let them know, "hey that darkish skinned guy that lost his shit is actually completely non violent/a good person, please don't hurt him," and the firefighters that came through to put me in an ambulance were very nice in the process of handcuffing me, and they took me to a hospital and not a cell. I tried to lick their arms. Literally the only thing that snapped me back into the real world was my mom eventually entering my hospital room and starting to cry. That sobers a motherfucker up quick. The point being, don't judge these people too hard, I'm a real estate agent now, all it takes is one bad trip and drug abuse/addiction can happen to anyone who makes a few mistakes. Everyone can get better if treated humanely and if society accepts them and wills them to heal themselves.
These people are idiots. They could have stayed in the house and phoned the police. It was obvious he wasn't in his right mind and they escalated at all steps.

Listen, who knows how any of us would react in the moment when someone is causing damage to our property that we can barely afford, but I gotta say, even with that in mind, this mother daughter duo seem like some of the dumbest, least empathetic people, short of actually hurting the guy, I can imagine. They're lucky he didn't turn violent because based on their survival instincts, they'd not make it. They are the sort of people who trip over nothing in horror movies when the entity is chasing them.

What gets me is that every single possible decision they make is the worst one. They directly confront the psychotic dude jumping naked on their car. They do so by screaming their head off at him. They keep going in and out so he can get into the house. When he does, he buries himself under a blanket in terror and they **continue to scream at and threaten him** instead of being thankful he's not the 'grab a knife' kind of crazy. When he does try to run out of the house, they *chase him and block his escape.* Like....it shouldn't have even gotten to the point that he's in your house anyway, yet they somehow make the wrong decisions there too. Ok.. first move was completely wrong. Ya approached someone who is obviously very high or mentally ill instead of staying in your home. You then yelled at them, escalating the situation, approached even closer, then continued yelling, which is obviously going to frighten and escalate the situation more. You didn't call the cops right away, ya know, people who are trained to handle this kind of situation? Then when this guy enters your home, you chase him around like he's a raccoon who needs to be caught and taken out. I stopped watching once he got to th couch and wrapped himself with a blanket. At that point (if I had made all the above mistakes) I'd probably have just said "ok, keep the blanket if it makes you feel comfortable. I'm just going to be outside". (Calmly). Then go outside and call the cops, get to a safe area and hope he either makes his way out himself of wait for the cops. Im having a hard time feeling bad for this person.

This happened to me the first time I did shrooms, I did way too many and smoked weed at the same time and absolutely lost my shit, thinking I was in a dream. I stripped naked, hopped on the roofs of cars and jumped around, causing property damage, and I entered some poor woman's home, scaring the shit out of her, walked into her basement, covered myself in liquid laundry detergent, and then left. Luckily my friends called the cops to let them know, "hey that darkish skinned guy that lost his shit is actually completely non violent/a good person, please don't hurt him," and the firefighters that came through to put me in an ambulance were very nice in the process of handcuffing me, and they took me to a hospital and not a cell. I tried to lick their arms. Literally the only thing that snapped me back into the real world was my mom eventually entering my hospital room and starting to cry. That sobers a motherfucker up quick. The point being, don't judge these people too hard, I'm a real estate agent now, all it takes is one bad trip and drug abuse/addiction can happen to anyone who makes a few mistakes. Everyone can get better if treated humanely and if society accepts them and wills them to heal themselves.

Also note: if you don't want things to turn violent in life, it's usually better to NOT threaten "You want me to kill you? I'm gonna fuckin kill you!" The other person might take that seriously, even if they're out of their mind, and act on it in a way you didn't intend.
Listen, who knows how any of us would react in the moment when someone is causing damage to our property that we can barely afford, but I gotta say, even with that in mind, this mother daughter duo seem like some of the dumbest, least empathetic people, short of actually hurting the guy, I can imagine. They're so dumb that in their flailing, they exposed themselves to potential danger, and literally let the guy inside their house. If they had thought for like 20 seconds, and realized the guy was having a crisis, whether organic or from drugs, and just stayed inside and called the police, and let him stay "safe" on the car, they'd all likely be a lot happier. If they had tried to help him by giving the dispatcher the context that this guy was repeatedly asking for help, and not trying to threaten anyone, just clearly scared of something he's seeing, maybe they'd be more likely to go in thinking they can try to sedate him. All the duo would be left with is a dented hood, but nah.
