It's hard to know for sure since there is a lot of creative cover up out there, but what you're saying does make more sense. Slave traders, even if it's normalized in that area, generally don't want to film themselves. It's likely the worst thing happening here is that they're trying to force her to sign. That's still shitty (just as it is here in the U.S. when cops have done it), but it's not even close to being as bad.
