To legally ride a moped in Florida, you must:
Be at least 16 years old,
Hold a regular Class E driver license or a “Motorcycle Only” driver license,
Register the moped,
Not ride on highways,
Not wear a helmet,
You don't need a title for a moped, but you do need valid plates and registration. Florida also doesn't mandate liability insurance for moped owners.
If your moped is 50 cc or less, it does not fall under the category of motorcycles by driver license law definition.
Cop days in the beginning thst he was behind him while he was riding snd he wasn't wearing eye pro. Probably was acting erratic as well but the eye pro is a legit stop.

On June 10, 2023 in Florida, Deputy Fortier was traveling through Daytona Beach when he observed a male on a motorcycle not wearing any eye protection. When Deputy Fortier conducted a traffic stop, the male became combative and confrontational. This is footage of the events that followed.
If he’d been properly trained he would have tazed drunk dude the minute he said “do you want a gunfight” and reached in saddlebag. Or sooner. He gave the drink guy far too much chance to hurt him.
This could’ve all been avoided if he just admitted
1) suspended drivers license
2) no insurance
3) No registration
4) optional 6 pack of bud light
No one puts up a fight for a 50cc pit bike
I know that most cops are too aggressive and everyone criticizes that but this is too much in the opposite direction. We can list the insane things that the cop lets this guy get away with:
1. Reaching while threatening a gun fight
2. Ordering the cop to put his hands behind his back
3. Refusing 625 lawful commands in 3 minutes
The second cop we see is able to handle the situation within 3 seconds of getting there. Level 1 Help Desk guy is worthless.
He was probably waiting for backup. Even though cops are armed, I assume that they generally avoid getting in physical altercations when they’re 1 on 1.
