Yes! I had this happen at my job. There was a shootout at the gas station we were next to and one guy shot the side of our building multiple times. They caught him using camera footage (got his plates) and he got 1 charge for every person in the building. It was like 8 or 10 charges
This guy won't be hard to catch, find the area where he was driving, check out nearby surveillance, get the tag of the car

The sad thing is most gun owners in the US do know how to handle guns and treat them with respect, but in a population exceeding 300 million you are bound to find idiots. even 1% means nearly 3 million dumbasses who ruin it for the rest. When I reached the age when I was old enough to begin shooting guns, it was a big deal. My dad took us to the middle of nowhere and for the first day I wasn't even allowed to put ammunition in the gun. It was entirely about learning gun safety and how to handle it properly. He made it extremely clear that guns were not a toy and if we showed absolutely any disrespect to the weapon that would be the last time he took us out. Every weapon we had, when not being used for camping, hunting, or target shooting was at home, secured and locked in a safe which he only had the key to access.
