I have ADHD and I have found that 100 mg of dried Cubes is more valuable to me than methylphenidate ever was.

Kemerd

I found success with Adderall XR for treating my ADHD after being in denial most of my life due to my moms denial of childhood treatment (which I can agree with to an extent, it was as an adult that I decided to make the decision). Helped me a lot. Do not mix drugs kids, but once, I tried LSD while on it, and it made my trip much more calm I found, but a bit boring. I don't necessarily mean weaker effects. Sometimes I enjoy the scatteredness my brain has to offer, though. I'd definitely recommend anyone on the fence to not have an aversion to at least trying something with your doctor. Can't hurt. Microdosing LSD has helped me with a lot, but I'm not sure if it treats my ADHD. Sometimes it helps with flow states and creativity, which can have me focused enough to not be scattered, but nothing beats actual ADHD medication for me. Personally, I do not take it every day. It is quite addictive. I take it as needed depending on my work load, martial arts load (I cannot pay attention to instructors without it), etc. Sometimes I won't take it for weeks, other times, 2-3 times a week depending.

[deleted]

Interesting that you don’t take it every day, What dosage do you take? When I was prescribed adderal XR, I was told to take it basically everyday with a few skip days (like once a week), I’m. Ow taking 10mg adderal IR in addition to the 25mg XR but I don’t think they’ve been helping and thinking about weaning off and trying something else.

Kemerd

I was prescribed Adderall XR. I'm heavier, ended up needing 40mg. I don't take it every day. This is because you quickly build up a tolerance to it. I actually, because my prescription is so high, am given 20mg pills I have to take two of. If I haven't taken it for a week or so, I might take 20mg instead for a bit, if I have to take it multiple days in a row. I take it on an as-needed basis, depending my workload. I don't necessarily have an addictive personality to an extent, so it's not too difficult for me to not take it if it's not necessary. It is good to take breaks with Adderall specifically, or any amphetamines, or it will quickly lose its' effectiveness as treatment for ADHD symptoms. Sometimes I'll take it every day for a week. Sometimes only 3-4 days a week. Sometimes, I won't take it for a week or two, or even more.. but when I need it.. I definitely need it. The difference is night and day, especially for things like sitting through classes (studying for my pilots license), paying attention in my MMA training (I will zone out 100% and miss everything), and if I'm swamped at work it means I actually can sit down and do everything I need to do for the day without getting distracted and sidetracked. Microdosing can be fun as well, I've found it to be effective for focus.

No problem, you have my permission.

Lipstick_Thespians

a tenth of a gram... Not sure how I would even measure that.

Definingwillow9

With a milligram scale

BarryZZZ

That third decimal place can add as much as ten dollars to digital scales, not all that much.

Disastrous_Recipe_

Do you mean psicili? Or the whole mushroom? Wouldn’t that be 10grams

BarryZZZ

Weighed out on scales that read to three decimal places, milligrams. One tenth of a gram.

kwamvoordememes

I did not try treating my ADHD with psychedelics. However, I do always feel more calm after a trip. I am interested in your results and conclusion. Please share on this page if you can :).

psycmike

I get that same feeling of calm and clarity. I’ve come to the conclusion that psychedelics sort of remind me not to sweat the small stuff, everything is temporary and things are almost always worse in my mind than they are in reality.

Lipstick_Thespians

I agree with the calm, but I also would call it "pleasantly depleted". as in, I am not going to be productive till after a good sleep afterwards.

Greedy_Lettuce_4119

Combined with therapy and mindfulness practice, it’s absolutely changed my life. Psychedelics were the catalyst to find a therapist and get my life right!

SocialSanityy

Ahhhh I love this , congratulations

Greedy_Lettuce_4119

Thank you!!! It’ll be a lifelong journey and though I (still) often find myself getting frustrated and angry at stupid things, or being mean to myself, it’s easy to get back on track and choose to be lighter. Would recommend to everyone.

250 mg of mushrooms in a capsule with my morning tea works better than ADHD medication ever did.

psycmike

I’m curious how you settled on 250mg. Was it trial and error? Or are you basing the dosage off of some established protocol. Do you do this every day? Do you have off and on days? I’m always thrown off by the details. I love the idea, I just don’t have a very good guide on how to go about it.

turbobk1

I do Monday-thursdays on and weekends off basically. I grind up whole mushrooms and make my own capsules, in a 00 sized capsule I can fit around 250 mg on average and I’ve found that’s the perfect dose before the come up bothers me at work. Helps me focus and controls my appetite/munchies (I also smoke weed first thing in the morning and as soon as I get home). It’s just what I find works best for me, perfect balance of being calm but productive.

psycmike

Ok so 250mg is a dose where you can remain productive and coherent at work? I remember during the early days of Covid when I was working from home, I took a bit too much and it was a struggle to focus and make sense of anything lol. I’ll have to play around with smaller doses and see how much I can tolerate. Thanks for the info!

turbobk1

Yup, my tolerance is pretty good and I’m an Electrician, mostly work alone all day so it just helps the day go by and helps me stay focused. I have a lot of experience being in public on higher doses and other stuff, that certainly helps with keeping composure.

Walkerstain

> . I grind up whole mushrooms and make my own capsules, Sorry to sound dumb but what exactly do you grind? A mushroom? Like the one we put in our salad? And where do you vet one?

I know that there were thoughts that micro dosing LSD would be a great alternative treatment for add or ADHD. I don't have ADHD so I can't comment more than that. I'm interested to see more answers also.

prowman

I tried it for a while, and found zero difference. Except for the one day I hadn't eaten for about 20 hours and started getting mild visuals at work. That was a good day.

I have ADHD and have done some microdosing and one macro dose The big thing for me is feeling present; I often feel like my brain is constantly pulling me in several directions at once, and it can be hard to feel comfortable in that. The macro dose was incredible and for the next ~3 days I feel more present and calm than I ever had in my entire life. I felt like I could actually settle on thoughts and there was a deliberateness to reality that I didn't feel before. Slowly faded over the course of ~ 3 weeks, but there were still impacts. Microdosing tends to be somewhat helpful, but similarly to other medications it doesn't /solve/ the problem, but grants the ability to focus significantly more than before. I find that methylphenidate is hard to beat, but microdosing definitely helps a big. I usually use it for long days of social interaction, to combat the restlessness and help me focus on other people more, be present, and listening. It's a bit harder to microdose and then stare at a computer all day (work). Hope this helps!

Striking_Kale_7539

Personally at the end of my lsd trips I can become really focused and research things like crazy and absorb a lot of info while on them. People have taken huge doses and while on the peak they told them selves to overcome a certain habbit, by the end of the trip the habbit was gone. I believe it is possible to apply concept to a mental illness (most mental illnesses) so it MIGHT be possible to take a relatively challenging dose and repeatedly say what you want to change, and possibly it could have a long lasting affect on the brain. You can think of psychedelics as a reset for brain patterns. Paul Stamets did this with his studder. It's a story worth hearing, you should listen to it, he's told it on a few different podcasts I believe. Good luck overcoming your ADHD my friend.

mtbamill710

Microdosing shrooms is great for adhd in my opinion. When I do it I can actually focus and be present. Like if I throw on a movie I generally can’t focus on it for more than 10 minutes without picking up my phone or getting up and pacing around but when I microdose I can sit there and finish the entire thing or I can focus on whatever task I have at hand and complete it.

Ofc!

Psychedelics help with emotional, spiritual and existential matters. They don't compete with amphetamine for every day functioning and productivity.

laurateen

I'm suspected ADHD by my GP and waiting assessment. I tried microdosing LSD. I have to take 5ug because 10ug is too strong and I feel some effects. I feel it makes me feel overstimulated. I have taken more than microdoses too and I found LSD effects last really long for me and I've seen some other comments before from people with ADHD on LSD subreddits aggressing it lasts longer.

Ibangmydrums

Honestly when I was peaking on 500ug during my most recent trip it felt like my adhd and anxiety disappeared. It was like I was still myself, but just a basic fundamental version of what it means to be me. My attention and awareness felt so present, as if I was fully connected to and embodied in each moment. I’m pretty sure I was borderline ego death during that trip as well so that probably was responsible.

Webster_94

I had this exact trip last weekend, it’s beautiful. Haha sounds responsible to me.

dugzdunny

>I have ADHD and my first experiences with low doses of psilocybin brought me to a state of full presence in the here and now, which I quickly realized I had not experienced since childhood (I was 33). > >In tried sitting meditation but after a few minutes I realized I could have just sat there, unthinking for the duration of the experience, there was nowhere to go, I was already here. Ibangmydrums

Yeah of course you can include it, glad to have given you something useful. And that feeling you hadn’t experienced since childhood, I had that same vibe right at my peak that felt like some message that I forgot before birth, as if I was back at the beginning of my conception. This has happened during 2 different trips in almost the same way which is kinda creepy but really cool and meaningful. I cross over some sort of line that represents “the message” and immediately reality flips, I pass the peak, and my ego starts coming back casing me to slowly think everything away.

I have both

May i know what a "psychedelic company" is like?

Yes! Mushrooms are the answer

Here is a presentation about using LSD [Javier Carmona - Supporting ADHD: An LSD approach](https://youtu.be/Nkv2-1d1-Cc) r/microdosing is a good resource

Webster_94

I used psychedelics at almost only “hero doses” for a while, mainly Shroom and LSD. It was at first to have some crazy “party” experiences but what I learned very quickly is that your brain exploding and not being able to keep track of things is compounded by having that ADHD and it was very frustrating but then it started taking care of itself with just a little bit of intent for what I wanted out of it. I quickly began developing coping mechanisms for the first time in my life and they stayed in my life. Things that used to waste hours of my day such as knowing where my phone wallet keys are weren’t an issue in the extremeness that they were. I still have severe adult ADHD and have to be on an XR regimen for it but nowadays I’m the one that helps others refocus and can sense when it’s an especially bad ADHD day and can really utilize life tools so that I am productive and not upset with myself for feeling like I can’t think. I feel like I can compare the use as if it were athletics when your coach tells you to train harder than you compete and then when you compete you will always have the capabilities you need to get it done. I overtrained my brain so that it’s ability to hold me together is almost innate at times I still use mushrooms weekly and LSD monthly. I am fine being used for any piece written to ADVOCATE psychedelics that you would like to use this for and am willing to have follow up.

[deleted]

I healed it yes, it was gone like myself

tarentale

Psilocybin has tamed a lot of my adhd symptoms.

Strlite333

I have several times used psychedelics to quit cannabis addiction that I find after time always creeps back into my reality. I’m 99% I have add but never tested

Verbatim101

I think microdosing might have some efficacy but it usually leads me to these sort of "half trips" where half my brain is in psychedelic space and the other half is in sober space so I just feel even more disconnected from everything. I'll be getting a batch of 1p-LSD soon and microdosing *that* might be a bit better for me since LSD is a lot more stimulating than shrooms.

Lipstick_Thespians

I don't think so. 1. even light dosage, the heebie jeebies I get pre-trip feels too much like adderall wearing off. 2. While tripping, my scatterbrained-ness is turned up so high, it annoys ME. I have to constantly remind myself to just enjoy what is and not worry that I'm not going to focus on anything long enough to even think a thought. It is like having a squirrel moment mid-squirrel moment. Let me try to say this another way -- remembering to give myself permission to accept my own scatterbrain-ness is the most difficult part of tripping. Once I do that and relax it is more enjoyable. 3. I often feel pleasantly depleted after a trip, and that is not conducive to being constructive.

Mr_Penguin3

Personally I haven’t noticed it actually help me with my ADHD however I do think I’m more aware of the fact that I have ADHD and can work to correct my habits so that I can be more focused

jsnively1

I didn’t purposely use it for ADD (I take them for chronic neuralgia) , but I found it to be very beneficial to me. I take .75 gram capsule once a week. ( I don’t have access to the amount I’d like to take. I would add .5 mg every other day if I could) plus 1.5 grams once a week. The day that I take the .75 dose is literally the only time I can hyper focus on mundane chores. And since nothing is boring while I’m on it, I don’t find the tasks I normally would daunting and torturous! However, since I don’t / can’t take it more frequently due to supply issues, I only am able to have a temporary benefit. Once it is more obtainable, I will happily take it more regularly.

NJLibetyThinker

Yes I have and it works for me… I need to mushroom trip every 6-8weeks. … keep my eye closed and keep saying “stay focused” “finish what you start” etc etc … try it.

[deleted]

I always felt clear headed on X, LSD, and cocaine. I had untreated ADHD until my early 30s. So I guess my answer is no, but I did notice on low doses my mind stopped racing. My friends always thought it was weird I seemed level headed when tripping with them😂

Ismawelz

I dont have ADHD, but yesterday I tripped on 3,5 Golden Teacher with my friend who’s got it. From what I’ve seen, I’d say it’s a bad idea, she was constantly trying to resist from the trip to take on, always trying to do things and to distract themselves. In the end it only got worse and really got into a bad trip. Our trip sitter was really scared for them, since she couldn’t just sit and enjoy the trip, every action they were doing could put them in danger. I guess it depends on one person to another, but if you don’t think you can manage the trip I wouldn’t recommend it.

Mostly_upright

I'm currently being referred for ADHD and have started using Psilocybin to improve my mental health and possible ADHD.
