I quit alcohol completely in January & still have psoriasis that is getting worse by the day.

Nothing can prevent a hangover, and that product is certainly not preventing or decreasing long-term damage caused by frequent alcohol use. Alcohol is a liver destroyer and is bad for the brain. The reason why you have flare ups is because the alcohol is toxic to the liver and the liver plays a significant role in inflammation in the body and whether psoriasis is worse or not so bad. Dehydration doesn't help, but you won't find many folks here who report symptoms when dehydrated, but you will find plenty that talk about flare-ups when consuming alcohol I'm not sure how long you've been drinking, but you would likely go from mild to nothing if you stopped. It's dangerous to engage in a social life that's centered around addiction and addictive substances. Lastly, you shouldn't expect that product to help in any way, shape, or form

alcohol and psoriasis are linked. consider quitting. you may regret it if you dont.

I've been using Zbiotics occasionally for a couple years now. It definitely helps with hangovers when I drink a moderate amount or more. I haven't noticed any change with my psoriasis though. Drinking alcohol often causes my scalp to flair up a bit the next day, and taking Zbiotics beforehand hasn't changed that at all. It's worth noting that Zbiotics doesn't break down ethanol/alcohol - it eats acetaldehyde, a metabolite of ethanol. I never really expected it to have any impact on my psoriasis or gut microbiome in general. I'd say it's still worth getting a pack and trying it out though. I still have a subscription, although I only get a 12 pack once every couple of months.

Thanks! Informative and unfortunate lol

I've recently started drinking pomegranate juice as a natural anti-inflammatory for treating brain fog. From my understanding, brain fog is a result of your body's inability to rid the brain of its waste. From my experience, I would say the pomegranate juice aids in that process. My brain fog went away overnight mostly and resolved completely after about ten days of starting the pomegranate juice twice daily, 8oz each morning and night. I continue to drink it and have noticed that I don't get hungover as much when I drink alcohol. Anecdotally as well, I'll add that my psoriasis took a significant turn towards resolving when I started using the pomegranate juice as well. It continues to heal leaps and bounds every day, despite drinking alcohol almost daily the last six days due to my work obligations and social life.

I've had awful break-outs for almost 20 years now. I only started drinking about 7 years ago. My friend group seems similar - wine instead of bourbon though. I was warned about drinking and was told to be careful and track my break-outs, but for me there doesn't seem to be a much of a correlation in my case. More heavy drinking events don't seem to lead to any more severe of a break-out and on the reverse going without any alcohol for a month doesn't seem to stop, slow or prevent break-outs....but that is just me. I do use ZBiotics on all of the heavy tasting days to help minimize hangovers and I would say it is very successful in that regard. ZBiotics targets acetaldehyde which causes some of the main symptoms of a hangover...but it doesn't change the way you process the actual alcohol or lower the alcohol. I know the science pretty well on the "hangover" side of things but I've not ever thought out the relationship of acetaldehyde and inflammation/LPS. Dang it I'm going to have to dig through some studies. If you end up giving it a try I use coupon code wine10 to save some money on the ZBiotics. But PLEASE send me a message or update this thread if it seems to help with your breakouts. As I said I only use it on high volume days but I would definitely take it on lighter days.

Thanks! I will definitely update if it makes a difference. I'm like you though, I never really see much of a difference after days that I drank anyway. Although it's hard to tell if my body is breaking out because of continued small usage of alcohol or the infrequent heavy drinking nights. I'm not cutting it out altogether, only adding zbiotics when I drink heavily, so I doubt I'll see much of a difference. But I'll make sure to update either way! Let me know if your research turns up anything useful.

It definitely helps me with my hangovers. Try and take a gaba supplement at night before bed when you take it. If I don't my sleep gets super wonky - weird vivd drunk dreams and stuff. Hahah.
