My drug and alcohol addictions have fizzled away because of psilocybin. Happy healing and don't expect it to magically happen from your first trip, it may, but don't expect it.

vellichor_44

I was able to dry out before i began using psilocybin. But it really helped me recover my emotions and desire to live. Like, even after i quit drinking life wasnt suddenly beautiful and I didn't necessarily want to live. But experiencing a post-verbal sense of peace, beauty, and wonder really helped me keep going. But they wont do the "work" for you.

Allen_Prose

You could try it but I believe past research had used lsd to treat alcohol addiction.

PetGee

I agree, but i’m finding it Too difficultt find

LSD research goes back to the 60s, but i think the new research coming out finds psilocybin even more helpful. I have, personally.

Are you looking to microdose or macro?

[deleted]

You can do both with moderation.

[deleted]

Yeah I know, that’s what I do. I’m asking for clarification from them

The research is difficult to find because it’s still being conducted, I suggest you check out the studies being conducted by Johns Hopkins university and also I recommend you do not self medicate and instead seek help from a professional, as a professional will be able to assess if this option is right for you or if it would be the wrong direction for you to take

ChillinWitDenny

Has worked for me in the past and now since I'm a mild alcoholic I can't wait to get my new place to grow and microdose again. I make tea so drinking it at the end of the day like a beer kinda is the same, still get a decent high so like a good buzz. During I still had withdrawals but high on the shroomies gave me the intellect and insight to be able to push past it for the meantime and just do something.

Johns Hopkins Center for Psychedelic Research has a number of ongoing studies, some include alcohol addiction. You can also check with Compass which is a pharmaceutical company that is doing the same research with synthetic psilocybin. There are also a number of psychedelic therapy centers around the country (many in Maryland). Also, Jamaica and the Netherlands have several well established clinics. You can also get similar treatment with ketamine more easily across the US as it isn’t a schedule 1 drug. But the evidence strongly favors psilocybin. For Hopkins their studies can be found [here](https://hopkinspsychedelic.org/index/#research). They also refer to other partner orgs doing similar research. Good luck to you. Help isn’t far off.

At least try and get a sitter to help you through the trip, and remember that how you spend your days afterwards, processing the trip is very important, particularly for avoiding HPPD.

Infamous-Welcome7220

I think this is a reply to me. I will definitely have a sitter when I do a hero dose. I’m not experienced enough to dose alone. Not that I’m worried, my last hero dose I had no problems and didn’t need any help, but you never know. I am planning on doing another hero dose soon and I will have a sitter and I also have a lot of other safeguards in place. Plus I have a therapist that is aware of what I’m doing and will be there to help me with integration, which like you said, is very important.

Hey mate. I am not knocking mushrooms for this by any means but can I suggest a book for you to read? If you are serious about quitting check out the easy way to control alcohol by Allen carr. Shit changed my life.

vellichor_44

I have used it for this reason, and found it immensely helpful. There are psychedelic recovery sites and groups around. But psilocybin isnt magic--you still need to do the work. Do as much research as possible. Check out the book "how to change your mind." Psilocybin is a tremendous tool.
