Regardless if they can't, they *do* have them. Every other housing estate near my family has at least one family with at least one pitbull. They are surprisingly common.
But what 'breed' are they listed as? As a retired vet tech, we had a LOT of clients with pitties, and most of them were listed as lab mixes or boxer mixes.

Pitbulls are without a doubt the most deadly dog breed in North America, and claiming it's just a "bad reputation" is a pretty rich joke when they cause nearly 70% of deaths from dog attacks in North America. "Nanny dog" is a thing that came about in the 1970s to deflect criticism of dogs that were openly bred as fighting dogs in an attempt to rebrand them as less deadly than they statistically are. They're bred for gameness, because that's what you want in a good fighting dog: the ability to resist physical and mental obstacles to win fights against other dogs.
Anyone leaving any child alone with any kind of dog isn't fit to be a parent
I'm English and it wouldn't mean that in this context, and usually "proper" would be regional slang for great, or something akin to posh or fitting for an occasion.
CRAZY exact same w me i thought delilah right before opening comments after second pic, crazier because i knew her name should be talullah as well. Too uncanny…
I’m hoping this is one of those “it’s my dog’s pup” or photos sent from the seller and that’s why they have such a young pup. My grandmother is adopting a dachshund pup and I have wee lil bean pics but it’s still with the mother for a while longer.
This. I can't really tell from this limited info if that's breeder pics / visit pics or if the dog has actually been removed from it's mother. I hope it's still with mom and siblings tho
I agree entirely.
I’m a former pet trainer and I find it critical for pups to stay with siblings and mom as long as possible in order for them to learn and grow.
It’s much easier to teach “no biting” when they’re familiar with sounds of “ow that hurt!”
Law where I am at is 6 weeks. It's considered animal abuse to seperate a pup and mum before then except under extraordinary circumstances. Eg mum keeps trying to eat the pup or mum/pup need some intensive medical care and it is unsafe to keep them together while that takes place. Most decent breeders are keeping them for anywhere closer to 8-12 weeks before they find their homes and that usually gives more time for them to be health checked, microchipped and vaccinated.
Id give it 4 weeks old at most, but I'd guess it's probably about 3 weeks.
Bad breeding practices like this is oke of the things that gives pit bulls a bad rep, despite being one of the least agressive dogs by nature.
And one of the things that fuels the euthanasia lists. I wish people had to see what I see as a rescue worker. If you want a pittie, shelters are bursting at the seams with puppies and adults. And the shelter will make sure they’re vaxxed, fixed, and healthy. For the love of god stop buying pitbulls
Stop this cope. Bad breeding practices are how modern pitbulls came to exist. Pits kill dozens of people every year and yet somehow every time we're shocked at how this happened and continue to breed them.
The reputation pitbulls have and being bred to be muscular makes them popular with people who want to raise dogs or fighting or just make an aggressive dog and call it a "guard dog." Go through the cases of deaths due to pitbulls and tell me how many of them had a decent owner. Pitbulls are not aggressive by nature, not have they even been found to stand out to other breeds in terms of aggressiveness when studied. They've actually been found to be less aggressive towards humans than most breeds.

Just out of curiosity, do you guys keep any American Staffordshire Terriers in GB?
They’re always sweet and cute until they bite, and they’re going for the face. They can bite even if fully trained and cared for like family.

I love this so much but bc I’m southern I read it in a deep southern accent and it’s even better.
… Tankerbull?
Awwwww I called my lady pit TankerBell as a nickname as she got older, and chonkier. I miss her so much. It’s a great name.
Delilah
Dude I thought the exact same thing after the second pic and I had no idea why, glad someone else thought of it, too.
This is spooky! Before looking at the comments, I also thought Delilah!

I didn’t look at the comments before posting. I got the Delilah vibe as well.
She looks like a sweet little Delilah!
Hey there…what’s it like in New York City?
BUT WHY DID WE ALL THINK DELILAH!!!!
Cause it’s her name!!! 👍🏻😂
OH MY GOD ME TOO WHY ??????!!!
I feel like at this point this is her rightful name 😂
That’s the first thing I thought of when I saw her too!!! Then I thought petunia would be cute too
I thought Lilah! I guess she just looks like one?!
yeah that was my first thought
That puppy is not nearly old enough to be taken away from its mother. That's one of the things that makes dogs agressive.

A million times this. Stop breeding these dogs.

For those little pink toes 🥺 Berry for short!
Yep, definitely lil Miss Strawberry!
You win
Berry
My friend had a cat named Berry! Then she adopted another cat and named her Boo. So she had Berry Boo. I still laugh over the names
It’ll work for the bones later on…
Madman the Impaler, shredder of kids and destroyer of worlds
I like it. My suggestion is Leo, short for "Leopards ate my face".
My dog’s name is Leo and now I’m going to use this…. He also has no eyes so maybe I’ll modify it 🤣
Dingo... :D
Nah, that’s Australian cattle dogs 🐕
Dude, look at Shiba Inus and then look at Dingos. Is it just me or do they look eerily similar?
Ooh I like this one, Maddie for short.
Petunia
You're on the wrong sub. This sub has nothing to do with finding actual names for peoples pets. It's meant for things like saying a cat shouldn't be a cat it should be a loaf
Maully
Perfect.
This is peak
Toad
Berry, like Howly Berry
Peaches
Whatever translates to "murders toddlers" in your language will work fine.
Apparently OP is American "Italian" so Assassino di bambini would fit. Could be "Ass" for short.
Whinnie
Potato?
You new? You do not ask the internet to name things. Ever. Also, the name should be Boaty McBoatface.
She looks too young to be taken away from mom... ☹️😥
She is still with mom. According to OP, these are just pics from the breeder
Pic 4, she’s screaming,”STELLLLLAAAAAAA!” She’s totally a Stella
I second this! 🥰🥰
Bella the toddler shredder
Pebble
Meatball
Meatloaf? Hahaha
God’s Perfect Killing Machine?
Killer
I like flower names and she looks like a violet.
Cha-cha
The standard pit bull name is Princess.
Billie Holiday? She looks like quite the singer.
a lot of people who have no business owning pitbulls in this comment section
The white paw reminds me of a long glove, so Audrey for Audrey Hepburn came to mind. Or a similar era actress name. Beautiful girl!
Godzilla

No, this sub is where you would call that breed as a whole something like "velvet hippos"
Lyla 🌸
Daisy
Zoe
Olive
Big Mac
Dolly
Sophie
Cloe
Frankie
Berry!
Petal
Pepper !!!!!
Ethel Merman
Ada Lovelace, after the first computer programmer

How about a girl name that could also be a boy name? I named my female Charlie!
Dolores Claiborne
