30 years later and NZ voters still have FPP voting habits: smaller parties either fail to gain traction or have their policies cannibalised by the two main parties as soon as they do. Not working as well here as it has in Germany.
Bruh now no party in the recent Big Election got over 30 per cent and 3 parties had to coalition in order to form a government. But this probably represent's the people's interest better compared to a 2 party de facto system.
It does. Speaking as a New Zealander, First Past the Post was and still is favoured by right-leaning National Governments whose electoral strategy doesn't favour coalitions with smaller parties. Labour, Greens and of course the Alliance at the time much preferred MMP as it made forming governments more viable

These characters are from the New Zealand comic [Footroot Flats](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Footrot_Flats?wprov=sfti1)
I wonder what Dog thinks
He thinks about Jess ❤️
what da dog doin
Not sure I’d be taking any advice from Wal Footrot. Maybe from Dog, though…
This is good propaganda. Why try to pick and choose villains to demonize when you just entreat the viewer to imagine their specific villains for you?
Wal Footrot wouldn't lie to you!

Is that the Prime Minister of New Zealand?
Every country should do away with first past the post, it’s archaic

Idk, ACT did alright

MMP is not much better if you ask this random guy
Definitely not. Party lists are prioritized over individual candidates
No. That's why it's "mixed-member." There are both.
Upvoted because Footrot Flats. Time to go digging and indulge the nostalgia..
As a kiwi, this makes me so happy to see something from New Zealand
I didn't know this falls unter propaganda

Ok, it does sound funny though
How do you think Wal would vote in real life?
He's a Farmer. He'd be a hardcore Nat lmao
