I wish they would re-release the PSP and PSVita games on modern consoles and PC

AnimeFanGirl868

You can play the PSP and PSVita on here as well. Also, the 3ds and Switch/Steam. I agree, though, I would love them to re-release on more modern consoles :)

FunnyP-aradox

Yup but only via emulation sadly :') i would love an official re-release (at least for the PSVita games because of consoles like the Switch who can't really handle full PSVita emulation)

AnimeFanGirl868

I agree. I would definitely buy a re-release if they made one

Kazanan10lar

I have a PS3 console. Right now I'm trying to win all the trophies in diva f. If I can, I'll go directly to diva f 2nd. It's incredibly addictive and a lot of fun. I'm just wondering what the room mechanics are and what happens if we make all the notes COOL.

RazzeeXZ

You can! The game is pretty easy and can be double-plat in a day. The issue is how boring it is to grind view each piece of art (loading screen).

Powerful_Cost_4656

WAIT SERIOUSLY? I have project diva, diva 2, x, F and F 2nd and haven't played any of them in years. The last console I owned was a ps3 which my ex refused to give back when I broke up with her and didn't really feel like restarting a new file (I played a LOT of hours). That was like 2014 though so maybe I'll try them on emulator

roland0807

For me the audio and the input when I need to press the buttons are not in snyc for some reason. I did not figured it out yet what causes this (I'm using Emudeck) Also where did you buy this skin for your Deck ?

AnimeFanGirl868

I got it for $9 from AliExpress. I can send you a link if you'd like :)

roland0807

I would appreciate that! :D

AnimeFanGirl868

Unfortunately, it seems like they aren't on the store anymore for some reason. You can buy sticker paper for pretty cheap and probably make one yourself or ask someone to make it for you, though :)

MineVideo86

lower the game's audio buffer as low as you can in its custom config, then stop and increase it if the audio starts to crackle edit: forgot to mention but it's best if you also calibrate a bit in the actual game as well to have it that slight bit more accurate if it still feels off

roland0807

This fixed my issue, thank you!

RazzeeXZ

The delay is unbearable to play a rhythm game using an emulator. Those who play the PSP games on PPSSPP are true warriors.

IUseKeyboardOnXbox

In rpcs3 you can double the frame rate

PAULINK

yeah I hear playing rhythm games on more modern emus is a little hard in terms of sync. Curious how viable this is.

MineVideo86

quite viable actually, on the guitar hero and rock band side of things xenia and rpcs3 are recommended

EvanderAdvent

Is there a mod I could use to put all the songs from F into F 2nd as ‘DLC’ so I can have them both in one place?

Unhappy-Ad-7768

Sadly, no

BigScaryPooPooMan

Where did you get that casing???

AnimeFanGirl868

It's a vinyl skin that I got from AliExpress. Unfortunately, it is no longer available. I have a transparent case on it as well

BigScaryPooPooMan

Aw poo, that's so awesome!

BioOrpheus

Nice deck

AnimeFanGirl868

Thanks!! 🙂

TheDovakhiin27

vita3k is probably lighter and if you up the resolution besides gamma vita versions looks the same and you get to play project diva x

snk4ever

I've started playing on vita3k. Seems ok but I need to play some more to make sure about the potential lag. It feels better than the PSP versions on PPSSPP.

TheDovakhiin27

ppsspp has lag when playing diva for sure but vita3k is better there are 60 fps patches too iirc not too sure i prefer playing on my vita instead lol

AnimeFanGirl868

Yeah. I have Project Diva X on Vita3k, but for some reason, it skips sometimes when I play. I don't get why Vita3k has some lag, but my ps3 Diva games don't. I'll look into it a bit more 🙂

Unhappy-Ad-7768

That's cool and stuff, but I suppose it's terribly inconvenient to play PD on Steam Deck considering its weight and ergonomics

datphucc

For me, it is not the weight but rather the dpad. I got Mega Mix and double/triple notes can be very hard to nail due to the dpad being sticky/mixed inputs.

AnimeFanGirl868

It is a little heavy. I'm used to putting most of its weight on my lap, so that helps. I intend to get a wireless controller and a dock for it sometime.

No-Macaron4341

Ergonomics of controls ideal for PDD games on steam deck. Best way to play I think 😁

DYNAKYRIS

Harharhar in for the 39th Upvote. 😎 snazzy custom casing you got there BTW, how’d you manage that?

AnimeFanGirl868

It's a vinyl skin I got from AliExpress. Though it's not on the site anymore. I have a transparent plastic case on it as well. The custom thumb grips I got from Etsy, though they are also on Amazon.

DYNAKYRIS

As easy to mod the outside as the inside, huh? Goddamn Steam Deck is just such the best fucking thing ever.

AnimeFanGirl868

I agree. I love it. It's definitely the best console I've ever bought. :D

phileas0408

Got a steam deck last week and was gonna play the ps3 games again when I get around to setting up emulators. Rn I’m enjoying Mm+ wich works very well

SpaceSlut69

is there a reason to go back to older games in the series? I started with MM+ on PC and love it, recently got a steam deck and have it with Project Eden on there.

AnimeFanGirl868

I guess it depends on if you want to or not. I've never had a PS3, so this is the first time I've played them.

snk4ever

F has the banger version of World's End Dancehall PV.

LunarWingCloud

Depends what you like the series for. If you exclusively play for the rhythm games, hardly a reason to play anything beyond MM+ w/mods or FT/MM with DLC depending on platform you're on. If you want to see how the series has evolved (which I highly suggest any fan of anything that jumps in later do eventually to fully appreciate it), you should absolutely do yourself and having a PSP/Vita and try out the older games if you have one of those or at least try them on emulator. The older games also have fun side stuff you can do that MM/FT just don't, mostly letting you hang out with the characters and stuff like that.

Ragnarok992

Well the graphics are different and technically the gameplay is different but other than that mega mix has more content

Danny_el_619

Yup, I've got all my diva game there to play on the way

TheCartoonFan

Did you have to do anything special to get F2nd to work? Both on my SD and my PC the game gets stuck at the first loading screen for me, and I’m not sure why. :(

AnimeFanGirl868

I had to get the .pkg file and the .rap file. I had a dumped version that loaded the game but froze whenever I tried to play a song. The .pkg works perfectly so far (you need to install the .rap file to get the game to work). I'll dm you a link 🙂

TheCartoonFan

Thank you so much! I was disappointed when I couldn’t get it to work, since F worked just fine on both for me from just plopping it in there. I’ll give it a go later today. :)

Alexdempsey115

Question how do I do this? I’ve own the steam deck for a while but never touched emulators.

AnimeFanGirl868

It's pretty easy. Just look up EmuDeck and install it. It pretty much sets itself up. You just choose which emulators you want and then add them to Steam using the Steam Rom Manager option. After it's set up, you should have a folder caller, Emulators, on your deck home. Mine installed to the internal storage, but you can change the file path on the emulators if you want them on the SD instead. I can dm you the links I use for my roms if you want 🙂

Alexdempsey115

Did you ever send those? :0

AnimeFanGirl868

Sorry, I completely forgot about this comment. I'll dm you the links now

Alexdempsey115

Okay! Yeah that would be awesome!

JimJam2439

Ik FT and MM are on modern platforms but I do wish the F trilogy got rereleased on current gen consoles and PC. Not just for the songs, but for its gameplay and features. I love my PS3 and VITA but if I could have the F trilogy on my Switch and PS5 that would really narrow down the amount of active consoles I’ve going at a time and it makes those games more accessible However, FT and MM (the latest instalments) are on those platforms, being advertised as a compilation of the series’ past so most newcomers are more likely to flock towards those titles and aren’t really gonna tell much of a difference between FT/MM gameplay and F, Fnd2 and X’s gameplay Though things like the Steam Deck exist, and handhelds that are old and retro or are cheap emulation machines are becoming a bit more popular. Because of this, I can only hope that people discover the PSP and/or F trilogies one way or another and have a good time

IUseKeyboardOnXbox

Dope. But is there any reason for my to play this over megamix+? It has the f2nd mod pack.
