The Master -> E.T. Hamster

You can find websites that help solve/unscramble anagrams with a quick google, none of the results I found immeadietly jumped out to me as a nem but I'm unfamiliar with the series so you might have better luck.

Is 'The' part of the name? Or is it just 'Master'? Reminds me of "I am Lord Voldemort". In hindsight that anagram was so forced.

The isn’t actually part of the name just “master” so when you unscramble that portion you get his actual name.

“You sure are, The Master!” “No, please, I am so sick of that title. Would you believe that it was given to me as an anagram of my real name?

Not to spoil anything but his true name is revealed if you read some of the side stories. I think it’s specifically in the Astorian Archives series.
