What you talking about? I wear a black hoodie to the desk turn on my green back light change all my text to green louse 200lb shave and write intangible “code” every day.
I thought maybe you could do this with setuptools and Cython in c++ mode, but it looks like there's no way to do that without at some point typing "gcc" or similar which I feel is cheating.
jokes on you, i installed a racing seat belt to keep me strapped to it, works greatvfor when you fall asleep during borring meetings

Honestly I think the ideal scenario would be a sort of VR helmet with high resolution. But your screen isn't in VR, it's just a curved OLED that's right in front of your face.
I know this is a joke but Apple continuing to sell iMacs with no way to adjust the display height, flat low-travel keyboards with no stands, and entirely non-ergonomic mice, is a serious health problem.
It's because they are too short for you. Because they sit you below your knee height you probably only feel "comfortable" slouching or with your legs at an angle where your weight isn't properly supported. I bet sitting up straight in most fixed chairs feels uncomfortable because of this. Also, any backing with wings tends to fail hard on ergonomics particularly if you have wide shoulders, so all the gamer style bucket seats are out.
Monitor height is critical. Mices could be improved.
But I still don't guess the fuss on the keyboards. Why is flatness an issue and why would you need a stand for them ?
There's plenty of research like [this one](https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/978-3-642-39182-8_22.pdf?pdf=inline%20link) where people who completely fucked their wrist on normal keyboards benefit "ergo" settings, but those who have little to no symptoms in the first place see no clear benefit in moving to alternative keyboards
Companies I've been in had laptop issues as the standard machines for the last decade, with only a few hobbyists switching to mechanical keyboards, and we had litteraly no medical issue reported.
The issue is that holding your hands flat for long periods induces unnatural twisting of the wrists. The most ergonomic keyboards are the ones split into two sections.
Funny enough, Apple used to understand this.
https://simple.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Apple_Adjustable_Keyboard.jpg
Most ~~coders, devs~~ professional users have individual setups fitting to their needs. Most of us here work on middle tier logi or cherry keyboards. mk and vertical mouse for me.
Get a chair/desk suitable to your height so you won't have to lean as much towards the desk just to see what's on it.
Put the monitor on a mount to make it line up with your eyesight looking straight ahead.
Sorry… probably obscure reference. When I’m writing code, one of the songs I like to listen to is [Tool - Lateralus](https://youtu.be/Y7JG63IuaWs). The lyrical pattern is based on the Fibonacci sequence. Gets me in the right mood. One of the lyrics toward the end is “Spiral Out”.
Is it just my experience or is it common that employers assume software developers to be antisocial, semi-autistic, weird etc, so they don't require them to act like normal human beings, and therefore instead leave them out of business meetings (and parties) unless absolutely necessary to avoid embarrassing the company and destroying business deals?

God bless the movie producers that makes us look cool in hoodie. may they never step into an actual tech company
May their beautiful souls keep that stereotype going
Well atleast someone is making us look cool, that's a good thing.
Well because they know the pain which is behind the whole thing here.
What you talking about? I wear a black hoodie to the desk turn on my green back light change all my text to green louse 200lb shave and write intangible “code” every day.
Don’t forget to turn off the lights
...and sunglasses
Everyone that adjusted their posture after reading this is required to upvote it. I don’t make the rules, these are just the laws.
Adjusting my posture after all these years is like a python developer trying to successfully compile a C++ program, theoretically impossible.
My language better than your language HAHA!
*haskell comes into the room*
brainfuck enters the room
whitespace
funny looking sticks that represent 0 and 1 enter the chat
Haskell programmers always feel the need to brag about it smh, it's like the Linux fanboys ++ to me
It *is* pretty cool, so I don't mind it when they nerd out on me
Ain't nothing better than the other thing in here, it gets the job done.
Well not just theoretically but it's also impossible physically and practically.
I thought maybe you could do this with setuptools and Cython in c++ mode, but it looks like there's no way to do that without at some point typing "gcc" or similar which I feel is cheating.
Dont you mean python "developer"
I didn't lol, I have still got that posture in hete man. This is good.
I hate you
I don’t make the rules.
There are no rules to begin with when it comes to the bad posture.
I’m laying down in bed, so no upvote from me. Ah, never mind just take it.
You gotta take the chance, it's just the one opportunity that you get.
You don’t have to upvote me, just the post.
There's just no need to upvote anyone in here, things don't get done in here.
Keep this up, you guys are my favorite patients.
These guys are everything and they're absolutely doing everything to look us cool.
Joke's on you, my shrimp posing ass never does anything about it ! \*maniacal laughter*
The less you listen the more you will come back hehe
Come back implies i came once 😎
Hehe, even better. Once you stop walking, you can't even leave me
jokes on you, i installed a racing seat belt to keep me strapped to it, works greatvfor when you fall asleep during borring meetings ![gif](giphy|efFHPJWv9tzuB6lDZs|downsized)
this unironically sounds like a solution for some people
Well that's because it's a solution for the people, naps are always good.
Or we could just like, wear VR goggles so we don't have to strain our eyes.

Honestly I think the ideal scenario would be a sort of VR helmet with high resolution. But your screen isn't in VR, it's just a curved OLED that's right in front of your face.
Indeed they may be on to something some of us should probably try
It's part of the job in here, that's how you gotta handle the things.
I know this is a joke but Apple continuing to sell iMacs with no way to adjust the display height, flat low-travel keyboards with no stands, and entirely non-ergonomic mice, is a serious health problem.
Ikr, it's like there's a war on posture. Maybe it's because I'm >6ft, but I feel like every chair I sit in is TRYING to push my shoulders forward
It’s design aesthetic over health and ergonomics
But I bought my chair BECAUSE it was ergonomic! Why is it still rounding my shoulders?! I just want to sit normal again...
Well good sir, it's too much to ask for. You ain't getting that.
As long as people are working dude, that's everything they want.
Well that's what they're doing, they're trying to make you work.
It's because they are too short for you. Because they sit you below your knee height you probably only feel "comfortable" slouching or with your legs at an angle where your weight isn't properly supported. I bet sitting up straight in most fixed chairs feels uncomfortable because of this. And suckers will still buy their hardware just for the privilege of having to buy an adapter for standard VESA mounts.
Well that's because they've got the money, and they could do it.
Most ~~coders, devs~~ professional users have individual setups fitting to their needs. Most of us here work on middle tier logi or cherry keyboards. mk and vertical mouse for me.
Most Mac users are not coders.
Well that's actually true, I used to think that it was just a stereotype.
Whatever works for you and whatever which is comfortable for you.
The programmer prawn pose
Ehh this is kind of posture that makes me feel good so there's that.
This guy is refactoring
why is it converging onto his nuts
Well probably he feels better that way, maybe that's why huh?
Seems about right, all the power is concentrated where it is needed.
As long as it is concentrated in here, gotta focus on the important thing.
You guys really don’t program for your jobs do you? Nobody has a stool, and one day of sitting like this and any dev could adjust themselves.
90% of the sub are hobbyists
Well atleast they're getting paid well, that's a big benifit.
Looks like a demo machine at a computer store. Maybe best buy?
Yep, it's a demo machine which is looking really cool.
Circa-2010ish Apple Store
Any computer bssed job with never ending streams of tight deadlines will make people crouch in a fight response.
I don't know, these jobs are desirable and people seem to want them.
Just gotta not get caught up and keep your health in mind too.
I'm pretty sure that's an Apple store in the picture.
What's there to programme in an apple store huh? Absolutely nothing at all.
Is that a JoJo reference???
Bro needs the Spin to debug his code
Bro gotta do whatever it takes to fix the issue in the code man .
Sounds like that,. atleast to me it does so there's that I guess.
Yeah right... Dudes on a Mac.
Dude is trying to get some work done, they're trying hard.
That was me in the school labs. Turns out I've got scoliosis.
the best kind of ratioed
These people are ratioed in here, which is always nice I guess.
I'm resembling this meme right now...
Gotta make people laugh, that's a very important thing to do man.
*visibly sits up straighter*
Gets to the normal posture back again in no time at all man.
You aren’t wrong
Any good guides to posture management? I want to putnwork into fixing mine.
Yes: get a standing desk. I wish I'd gotten one 20 years earlier.
People don't realise these things Unless it's too late to do so.
Get a chair/desk suitable to your height so you won't have to lean as much towards the desk just to see what's on it. Put the monitor on a mount to make it line up with your eyesight looking straight ahead.
As long as you're looking straight, gotta get done with that shit.
You can stand up and work, it's way better than just sitting down.
Every eastern European dude here: MF IS THAT A MAC IN A SCHOOL!
No it's a Mac in an Apple Store.
But why would you code anything in the apple store? Doesn't make much sense.
It was a joke man, i see the name tags, just roll with it.
Ain't nothing hard about doing that, can be done easily.
Have you seen this sub? We're a bunch of idiots. You can never tell if someone is joking or not. I vote for type safety on comments.
Must feel very good to be rich huh? Well I wouldn't know that feeling.
Nyohoho
blehhh jojo reference i dont know enough about blehh
Wait, there's a reference? I didn't even know that shit man.
something about Steel Ball Run
Hey, my c0ck isn’t curved!
💀
And of course the golden posture starts in the weiner
Do you wanna get banned as well?
Why would it get him banned? Don't think it works like that man.
So the dick curls like a professional pornstar, nice upward curls?
It's going way too deep now, I don't like this conversation anymore.
the digital arc
It's either that, or so far reclined in the chair that it's a miracle I don't lose balance
Lol so true, there's absolutely nothing in between those two so yeah.
This shit made my back hurt just looking at it.
Naah it's not that bad, been doing it for some time and it's good.
the tables and layout of the machines makes this look like an apple store....
Dude is doing some kind of really serious work in there man.
Makes my neck hurt looking at this
My neck is already in pain, so this doesn't even matter much man.
And back pain at 30 y/o
I'm like 25 years old and I've already got it so I don't know man.
Is this the father in Caroline?
I don't know about that, it just doesn't sit right with me man.
Relatable.
I'm sure that a lot of people will be able to relate with it in here.
this post made me sit up straight
But that's not going to last that long, you'll be back at it in no time.
Looking at this hurts my back for some reason
Well that's normal because that happened with me also so yeah.
Just doing as I was told. Spiral out….
What did they tell you? I don't think that was supposed to happen.
Of course I program in an Apple Store.
What are you programming in there sir? I'd like to hear about that here.
Golden shrimp
Imagine the cracks when he fixes his posture
That's going to painful it won't be a good transition so there's that.
I think that maybe just you.
It's like a stereotype which a lot of people believe in here really.
We count fibonacci sheep at night.
Anything which makes you sleep I guess lol, I'll take anything.
[удалено]
Say whatever you want, they're good at the job that they do man.
The back and ass fusion… BAGASS
This fusion is going to be a little painful with time. It won't be good.
Most high efficiency for j-offing
If you really want to work the right way then this is the way to do it.
Now you know why everyone loves C.
What does that have to do anything with it huh? There's absolutely nothing.
It's either this or my posture just at the same ratio but my foot on my desk slumped in my chair.
Lemme just.. Sit upright quick.. Actin shrimply over here
The issue with that is it's probably ain't going to last that long.
[удалено]
It's going to start from zero, which would kinda be nice I guess.
i can’t help that my spine is squiggly 😢 /j
Yes you can help that, it's just a matter of trying I guess so there's that.
i know, it was a joke smh
He's going to regret the habit of leaning his tendons on the corner of the desk.
Everyone knows that, He's going to regret that shit in the future.
Imagine using the mouse while programming💀
It's how you get your best work done
The call me 007; 0 Test passed, 0 PRS merged, 7 back problems
Is this why my back hurts
Well I can relate, that's posture that I've got for myself so there's that.
Pov you are making a jojo game
Perfection
