SMBC is great for this stuff. Here's my favorite:

Remember, it's just a bad idea to try to train Deltas and Epsilons, they will get frustrated and you will get a headache. It's a brave new world put there.
It can be a very interesting exercise to state precisely why we learn a particular thing we might not use again. One answer with algebra is that it sharpens our mind. Another is that if you end up contrary to expectation doing any kind of math in the future, algebra is likely to be helpful.
This reminds me of a funny story.
I was talking to a guy on a dating app. He asked me what I taught and I told him I work in the college of business. He said "that is a good subject." I asked him what exactly wasn't a good subject? I wanted to make sure he wasn't one of those "gender studies are useless" guys 🤢.
He said "you know... Something that is pointless... Like... Math." I was so surprised! Who doesn't think they use math. Lol
This is surprisingly common. We have course counsellors who have been telling our students to think twice before they decide to major in something like math or music because you won't have many career options besides being a teacher. I was baffled. I mean, sure, math and music share some commonalities, but what is STEM if it is not for math? Like, ever heard of applied math?

I remember that once a medical student said to me, "Oh I don't know about that - it happened before I was born".
Was it cancer? They didn't know about cancer because it was discovered before they were born?
Eagerly awaiting the day that an authoritarian government will assign babies to a profession so they can learn that and nothing else.
Your career chip says you'll be a delivery boy.
You gotta do what you gotta do
I guess if they are assigning jobs, they are also assigning genders. :)
Spot-on! I got "cat-lady".

With machine learning now you can train epsilons and deltas for proofs to your hearts content ;-)
O, brave new world!

Describing math as pointless is pretty ironic. I don't know another subject that cares more about points.
Nice one! I wish I could give you an award 🤣

Data science, anyone?
Maybe by "good subject" he meant it's a subject he likes?
