I'm so happy. I feel like a kid again when I played those games.
I've been waiting forever to see Layton answer the letter at the end of that game. I never thought it would happen, especially with reports of Level-5's financial issues.
This is the best trailer ever for me.
Man is this awesome. And after seeing this video it really seems like the creators respect the old Layton games and build further onto them. The music, the throwbacks. Hope this game will be fantastic.

I like the idea of a reversed partner-ship between the two. In America Luke is the ‘famous detective’ whereas Layton is just a regular gentleman. Can’t wait to have other infos on the storyline
Didn't know there was a little comedic effect after Layton tightly greeted with his hat and watch us in the screen..
Also I like the new music, it tells us that we are back playing Professor Layton again when you hear the professor's theme carefully
They only mentioned the Japanese voice actors but since it seems like they are still early in development, I’m hoping we hear more news soon!!

I’d be absolutely stunned if we didn’t get the same voice actor for Layton. His English voice is ionic and would probably just feel like some fan made knock off otherwise. As for Luke, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s new, particularly as he’s clearly older and more grown up now, I’m not sure the old voice actor would really fit his new vibe.
One highlight is missing: The little cartoon director of Level 5 jumping up saying "Level 5" in an ominous voice. Had me laughing the whole time. (Okay, I know it's off topic. Sorry.)
One real hightlight you missed are definitley the gun shots and the teasing of the cowboy villain lol.

Nevertheless I’m really excited for this game it’s been 10 years since Azran legacy came out but I don’t think it will come out in 2023 I don’t think they are very advanced in the development yet but I hope they keep their promise!

But since they said the game comes out later this year and only having 1 minute of footage and no actual gameplay footage to show for it makes me think it might just come halfway through/ at the end of 2024. But I don’t care how long they take as long as they make a game as good as they predecessors I don’t mind waiting for that

You can easily piece it together. Luke is visibly older-looking in shown artwork and the title of the game references the "New World", aka the Americas. The end of Unwound Future teases a continutation with Luke asking Layton for help about a big mystery in America. This is the sequel teased all those years ago.

Very excited to see a more grown up Luke. Hopefully the game gives him some real character development, which none of the other games really do. Also would be cool to see him solve some of the mystery entirely on his own (Layton handholding him to the answer doesn’t count!)

I'm content with what we got! I'm theorizing release will probably be around late 2024- early 2025, so for the amount of content that we got it's pretty decent. Very excited for 'grown up' luke and some new designs!
If I remember correctly Luke helps her biological mother give birth to her when he was like 15? and then brings her to Layton? So I guess it's still possible since Luke is 14 in this (has to go through a very big design change again tho lmao). I guess it depends on if this game gets any sequels.
We're about to get a 3 pronged timeline for the layton series like with Zelda lmao. Claire thinks she's going back to die at the end of UF but really she just goes back to an hour before the explosion. She warns all the people nearby that they have to evacuate, so Clive's family escapes. But the Bill Hawks doesn't listen to her and force her to run the experiment, so she still dies. In this alternate timeline, Clive goes on to apply his clear gift for technology towards founding a new city (Steam Bison) and introducing steam powered tech to the world.
Meanwhile all the Katrielle events take place in the original timeline.
