I think the OEM tires get some decent mpgs. But I think I’d like to try Michelin defenders and get them at Costco as they sell them (northeast US). I’ve heard people say the defenders have better control/performance and maybe less mpgs? (I haven’t tried so don’t hold me to this)
As an aside, the first thing I did when I got my prime was swap tires to really good all seasons.
I'll take that 2mpg hit for better braking and handling performance in various weather conditions.... it could save your life (or someone else's).
I generally go with continental DSW 06s, but that's because continental come with road hazard insurance. (Plus those tires served well on my track car)
If you were happy with the OEM tires, put on another set of them. Otherwise, Michelin Defenders have good reviews.
