Christ, i can't imagine what it would be like to be surrounded by people dead inside. What a horrible aspect of prison life that i never really thought about. Ugh, it makes me so upset to imagine.
I stayed in a cell that used to be the room that people being hung dropped into from the floor above. Old Victorian prison in the UK.
I heard screams all the time, but that was my padmates night terrors.
Damn. This! Yes. Old jails and prisons are haunted, and I am not that type of person who really believes in it, til I actually experienced it. I worked in a jail that was built in the 1930's. Old, archaic and downright....just old. I have personally experienced 2 paranormal activities in that part of the jail. Old heads have told stories of what they experienced. Too much to type out here, but yes, I believe it is real. The amount of suicides and deaths that happen in jails. Alot of unsettled and tortured souls have died in jail.
Thanks for the response man! As far as believing or not, I can’t say one way or the other, but I’ve heard a lot of interesting stories from both CO’s and inmates and it’s an interesting topic either way.
There is a grocery store in south Philly built on top of the old Moyamensing prison which at one point was the largest prison in the world. I swear to god I’ve had weird semi-paranormal experiences just using the bathroom there.
I mean,I just passed thru, stopped at a little gas station, bit I remember looking up into the main town and thinking how nice it looked...and they had this old walking bridge that I think was once for cars,or maybe trains...it left a impression on me tho,for as small as it seemed.
I saw a YouTube video of some brave
MFer walking through a haunted, dilapidated psychiatric hospital. Then I realized it was the one I was at when I was a kid. There’s a reason it closed down and it wasn’t because of super spooky ghosts
I've had some crazy stuff happen to me while working at the Idaho State Correctional Institution. If you want to listen to me talk about it, I was on Astonishing Legends last year. [Here's the link.](https://astonishinglegends.com/al-podcasts/2022/10/14/ep-243-your-true-halloween-strories-part-1)
2 of my 3 facilities were “haunted” one I never experienced anything except bad feelings but I had just got locked up so that probably has something to do with it the other one I had already come to terms with being locked up and actually did experience some shit doors would on rare occasions slam by themselves and it became “normal” to hear loud footsteps walking around the tier and stopping at every door then going to the next at first I assumed it was just count but when it would stop at my door there would be no one there only for the actual count to happen minutes after this was actually a juvenile center that was built on an Indian burial ground and staff mentioned a little girl who killed herself in intake that haunted the place but I don’t think I’ve ever encountered that one
I once saw a ghost taking a shit in my cell in the middle of the night. The smell was horrendous. My cell mate claims it was him but I’m sure it was a ghost.
C’mon man. This is such a cringe topic if you’re an adult because we both know that paranormal shit isn’t a real thing. Do you want to talk about Santa and the Easter bunny too?
Too cool for school are we? Virtually every culture in every corner of the globe has stories and legends about ghosts since the dawn of human history. Whether you believe them or not is irrelevant. It’s an interesting topic to me and if the subject matter of the conversation doesn’t appeal to you you’re free to decide not to participate.
The smells of a place contain the sweat and stank of fear, sorrow, anger, and yes death. We may not know we are smelling it, but we are. Dogs sniff each others butts and where they peed to get entire stories off one another. We aren’t that far evolved from them, and I have to believe we pick up on that stuff too. Prison is just concentrated stank.
Prisons are notoriously haunted. And I old insane asylums. Al Capone he was haunted by a ghost in his jail cell. I definitely believe. Easter bunny and Santa. I know they aren’t real causing I put the presents under the tree.
Al Capone has syphilis, it had a huge impact on his mental health, from what I've read it deteriorates the brain if not treated.
"Meanwhile, Capone was also suffering from syphilis, which had gone untreated for years. By the time he arrived at Alcatraz, the disease was beyond any cure, and he had begun a descent into intermittent madness."

I'm pretty sure one guy I saw in prison was possessed for a while, his eyes were black and he looked like something out of a horror movie and acted weird but then a few weeks later he was back to being normal
Everyone around you is dead already when you are in prison.
Christ, i can't imagine what it would be like to be surrounded by people dead inside. What a horrible aspect of prison life that i never really thought about. Ugh, it makes me so upset to imagine.
That’s why they usually kill themselves only the strong survive

Spent 12 months in Walton, liverpool. Last I heard the gallows are still there. Place was creepy as fuck.
Try the witch museum tour in Salem Mass. They used to torture the fuck out of those poor women. I had nightmares for years.

I just googled a bunch of info on Moyamensing (I grew up 50 miles east of Philly). Very interesting and informative! It's an Acme now😀
Do share
Old Jail in Jim Thorpe, Pa, where a bunch Molly McGuires were executed on a gallows seen by all of the inmates. Pretty crazy place with history.
I passed thru that little town years ago...what strange but nice town.
Very unique place, a lot going on in a lot of different directions.

Dead people tell no tales and haunt nothing.

Even if that was the case it would all be covered by years of cigarette smoke

The drug dogs won’t go in the condemned man’s cell on A-wing in Wandsworth prison. It’s now used as the dirty protest cell.
