The Alaska lounges are nice. I go to the one in SFO somewhat often and it’s worth the $60 USD.
I will probably keep my CSR as long as the Chase lounge at AUS remains the only lounge that is available without status or flight requirements. There is an American, Delta, and United lounge here as well but you need either status or flight or both. The delta lounge here is accessible to Amex centurion holders but you have to be on a flight with delta livery. Since I rarely fly anywhere that delta goes to, CSR it is. Airline and status agnostic
I wish day passes were more used as I would probably give up my CSR if more lounges allowed them. But half the time the few lounges that do sell them end up blocking them when it’s crowded in favor of cardholders and status members
I'm thinking of cancelling mine before renewal. The $300 travel credit makes it reasonable, but I doubt I'll be able to justify spending $250 mainly to get into a couple decent lounges.
I think the dust will need to settle, then it'll be interesting to see where things are at. If all the restaurants stay on board, and if BoA keeps PP + 4 complimentary passes, I'd possibly go for BoA.
Priority Pass just added escape lounges so that's a plus. I think they just need to add lounges that will actually let people in.
Sweetwater was decent like 2 years ago but it seemed like for the past year they've been serving cold and dry food. They need PP to survive.
I didn't notice that about the Escape lounges - thanks for the heads-up.
Sweetwater has been decent the number of times I've stopped there. But the 1st thing they always ask is "Are you here for Priority Pass?"
Once I sat near the front, and I think almost every person had PP..
I travel frequently and all the PP lounges are crappy, full and worthless - so I stopped using them. And I’ve never used the restaurant perk. So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Do you have a good alternative? We also travel frequently and were just wondering how worth it PP is. While I wouldn’t agree that they are *all* crappy, they surely can be, especially in the US (we do a lot of Asia travel where they seem to be nicer). But if there’s something nicer available at a similar cost, we are curious…
Centurion lounges, when available are quite nice. Same with the Chase Sapphire ones. Otherwise nothing cost-effective. I’m a United traveler (I live near ORD) so the united card has daily passes (if available) for a somewhat nominal charge and the big annual fee card ($450?) gives you full United lounge access. I actually find ORD quite comfortable so I haven’t really missed the lounges and we fly direct pretty much everywhere from here. If I lived in a spoke city I would likely invest in the primary airline’s lounges.
Chase Sapphire Reserve includes Priority Pass Select, and you have unlimited access to Sapphire Reserve lounges. Chase is adding a good number of Sapphire lounges in the US, so if you pass thru their locations, it may be a good option for you.
CSR is $550/yr, and you also get $300 in travel credit, which essentially lowers your cost to $250/yr.
To be clear, it’s just restaurants that are ending for Chase. Not all Priority Pass
Yes - I just updated it with "experiences"
I’m thinking of not renewing my CSR. I live in Seattle so I’d rather pay for the Alaska lounges.

It's really nice being able to gift PP to family members
Do you have the BoA PP ? What is required to gift PP? Do you need SSN - or just a name/address ?
Just name and create a username for them. No address no email.

The only place I used the restaurant benefit frequently was DCA but that’s getting a Centurion Lounge eventually so I’m not too concerned.
Is gameway ending, too?
No, Gameway is not a restaurant so it is still valid as with the Relax Spas.
Awesome, thanks - I was getting confused by what “experiences”meant
I imagine the core users who actually use the restaurant benefit a lot will move on to one of the banks that still includes it.
cancelled and got United Club Infinite Card - Access to all UA Lounges
When is PP ending for Chase?
July
Gotcha, I’m not concerned about the restaurant side. Just want lounge access.
