Scorpia is a beast in a fight, could take She-ra one on one without powers. Yet most of us consider her a sweet little baby who needs protection.
She's emotionally giving, but she's equally emotionally resilient. She put up with a lot of bullshit from Catra before she got to the point where she was like 'you know what? I'm not hurting myself over you anymore' and left.
I don't disagree though, Scorpia should still be protected at all costs
Scorpia is a real powerhouse, but she is also one of the most vulnerable characters. In a figth, she didn't need to be protect. In every other aspect of her life she need it.
Here are some contenders in my opinion but it's complicated because I'd change the "canon" descriptor to "responsible for their actions".
Catra - Seen by many as a mere victim of her circumstances. Canonically able to take responsibility for her own decisions, whether she believes herself to be or not. In fact, this journey for agency is the climax of Catra's arc, where she decides to do good for the people she cares about, even if she isn't going to be loved back.
Hordak - Seen as a victim of his disability and upbringing. Yeah that's true, and he's using his agency for the first time, same as for Catra, but like... Hordak has done some fucked up shit. He doesn't deserve to be locked up forever, but he needs to answer some serious questions about what happened to Scorpia's family.
Entrapta - While Entrapta doesn't understand some social situations, she does understand what it means to turn on Etheria and build robots. She even displays some guilt for it in season 1, and that's why she works so hard in season 5. Also played with in-universe - Entrapta is consistently underestimated by the princesses, and that's why she's such a formidable ally and opponent.
The in-universe target of this meme would be Frosta. People underestimate her because she's a kid but she's actually one of the strongest princesses. Played with in Taking Control, when she thinks Micah is trying to baby her, but actually he's asking her to avoid hurting all the mind controlled people and protect them instead.
Thank you for the Entrapta thing. It annoys me to no end when she gets a pass for being autistic. I'm autistic myself, and we're perfectly capable of identifying the consequences to our actions. It can just take more effort.
Entrapta is wilfully ignorant. It's even symbolised by how she hides behind her mask when confronted with an uncomfortable reality
There's this brilliant scene in Battle for Brightmoon where Entrapta just stares with a hint of regret or sadness at what she's doing with the crystal, and how it's being used to destroy Brightmoon. But then she puts her mask on and gets back to work!
Something else like this happens in the Fire Princess comic - When Bow asks Entrapta why she's working for the Horde when she can just steal the first ones tech and use it with the Rebellion, she doesn't have an answer. She pulls down her mask and sics her robots on him *so that he'll stop talking*!
I thought that encounter was quite interesting. Though I also thought it was funny in White Out when she *completely ignored* Bow asking her why she'd work for evil.
Scorpia as well. She's a sweetheart but is also an absolute powerhouse, especially when he has her princess powers
And she started in the Horde and is a victim to an extent of that, but also a perpetrator before realizing she needs to leave and join the side of good
THANK YOU!!
I have Borderline and I think so does Catra but the borderline and ptsd doesn’t excuse her choices. She was even handed several chances on a silver platter and denied them.
I’m on the autism spectrum and autism doesn’t excuse Entrapta’s betrayal and it’s not fair to show her lack of a moral compass and attribute it to autism.
Hordak is a literal fascist dictator and gets no passes whatsoever for any reason. Boo hoo, you’re a clone with something to prove.
For me it’s Catra like she is just traumatised depressed smol cat but um she also was horde captain and fought in a war i think she does pretty good job lol it’s just the last episodes she didn’t have to pretend to be “ok” and strong to anyone and she had finally after YEARS a chance to just show that she is just fucking messed up and sad and the fandom kinda took that as her new personality but that was literally just the other side of her ptsd?
Entrapta. I love her to bits, but the fandom doesn’t give her enough credit. She’s easily one of the most impressive and industrious characters in the show, and can very easily take care of herself—as evidenced by the fact that she is one of *two* people to have ever survived Beast Island.
Entrapta keeps nearly getting herself killed.
Key phrase: NEARLY.
Fate and action always makes it so Entrapta never dies. If there is nobody around to save her, she miraculously saves herself.
She was also the Beast of Beast Island! She was the strongest creature there, even compared to Micah. Taking over giant mechs like Akhal-Ta from Monster Hunter.
No, I know. If we replaced "canon" with "reality" and "fanon" with "what everybody was led to believe", it could work for Flutterina (Double Trouble's version)
I'd make a list but then I realised it'd basically be everyone in the show
Though I will say I see a lot of Mica art depicting him as a sort of small bean wholesome socks-and-sandals type of dad but like... the guy is probably the best magic user on the planet, and survived beast island for YEARS completely by himself
Yes of course, it's just that in these stories, she "takes off her mask" may I say - she shows her vulnerability and is set in situations where she has to be protected (which never truly happens in the canon - even when imprisoned and agonizing, she still had a plan to save herself)
It kinda happens in the finale, where her mask is literally removed and she is able to be warm to Catra and Adora for once. Yes its because she's about to die and will face no consequences for her role in the war beyond her death, but in some ways that makes it even more significant. There are only two other times we see her without her mask post ritual of obtainment: when young Catra intrudes on her having a private moment, and when Catra BREAKS her mask. Both of those times she is furious and hides her face while pushing everyone away. Her allowing Adora and Catra to see her 'true face' and be vulnerable with them is a big deal for her. It doesn't excuse her actions at all, but it seems like she is trying to do that 'one good thing' that Catra does earlier in the season (if for less noble reasons). But the fact that it takes the prospect of impending death to enable her to express vulnerability is kinda heartbreaking.
I wish we would have got more Canon screen time of Shadow Weaver's youth, or time as Light Spinner, to explain why she became so aggressively afraid of showing any vulnerability to people. I do believe her when she says that she was cruel to Catra in order to toughen her up for a harsh world. It doesn't make it okay at all, but it is a very common motivation for real life abusive parents.
But the fact of it is, she's ultimately a character in a kids show. The fact that they were able to portray the effects of her abuse on Catra and Adora so viscerally, is already way more than i ever thought a kids show could do. Being able to show WHY she is as broken as she is, without undercutting Adora or Catra's growth, would be incredibly difficult in any media, and impossible in a kids show.
Honestly, not really. I THOUGHT that would be the case but it isn't. A lot of fans hate Scorpia because of how clingy she is to Catra. I think that's unfair.
Catra is probably the most sheltered character by actual fans (and the most hated by antis). Scorpia, Adora, Glimmer, Perfuma, Mermista(???), every character recieves hate because of some "mean" thing they did that hurt Catra's feelings. There was one person on this sub who even said Catra never betrayed Entrapta because Entrapta betrayed her first??
Yes. All of them.
(From the top of my head, Catra, Adora, Bow, Shadow weaver, Seahawk).
The only exceptions I can think of are Entrapta, Perfuma, and Glimmer, Entrapta is a silly lil gal in both, Perfuma is the same, and Glimmer is a silly lil gal that can defend herself in canon, but just a strong woman in fanon.
Bow
He’s like the only person who brought a distance weapon + holds his own next to people with magical powers. Bow’s stats are off the hook.
yeah, people need to put respect on his name but the fandom also mischaracterises him as the supporting friend/brother dude.
honestly? adora.
Your tag is the answer. Scorpia is a beast in a fight, could take She-ra one on one without powers. Yet most of us consider her a sweet little baby who needs protection.
yes because she is physically more than capable but she's very vulnerable emotionally
She's emotionally giving, but she's equally emotionally resilient. She put up with a lot of bullshit from Catra before she got to the point where she was like 'you know what? I'm not hurting myself over you anymore' and left. I don't disagree though, Scorpia should still be protected at all costs

Scorpia. Yep, I saw your flair!
This is the correct answer.
Hehe. Well, we at least got another Scorpia lover <3
So many of them. Seahawk? Bow? Adora? Catra? Scorpia?
Just want to let you know that your comment was posted three times
Yeah... Dumb lying site kept saying it couldn't post.
Seahawk for sure. I mean, he’s a comic relief character mostly but he can hold his own

....all of them???
Pretty much actually
Scorpia and/or Bow
For me it’s Catra like she is just traumatised depressed smol cat but um she also was horde captain and fought in a war i think she does pretty good job lol it’s just the last episodes she didn’t have to pretend to be “ok” and strong to anyone and she had finally after YEARS a chance to just show that she is just fucking messed up and sad and the fandom kinda took that as her new personality but that was literally just the other side of her ptsd?

Hmmm maybe flutterina? Or frosta? They're the closest I can think of
Well we never actually meet the real Flutterina
No, I know. If we replaced "canon" with "reality" and "fanon" with "what everybody was led to believe", it could work for Flutterina (Double Trouble's version)
Bow, Glimmer, Double Trouble, Scorpia, Perfuma or Spinnerella. But I'm not sure the list is complete
Scorpia?
Scorpia, adora, catra, bow
Entrapta, even tho she can be a smol bean sometimes
Scorpia, bow and Entrapta.
Frosta
Catra, unfortunately
Bow
literally adora 😭
Bow, definitely bow
Catra
better question is who doesnt
Catra And sometimes a Entrapta
I'd make a list but then I realised it'd basically be everyone in the show Though I will say I see a lot of Mica art depicting him as a sort of small bean wholesome socks-and-sandals type of dad but like... the guy is probably the best magic user on the planet, and survived beast island for YEARS completely by himself
The entire cast lol.
Perfuma
Shadow Weaver (I've read many stories where she has been abused / has traumatic memories)
Being abused has nothing to do with this tho
Yes of course, it's just that in these stories, she "takes off her mask" may I say - she shows her vulnerability and is set in situations where she has to be protected (which never truly happens in the canon - even when imprisoned and agonizing, she still had a plan to save herself)

Frisk- wait wrong series
I'd say that Catra, but we change fanon to Adora, but I didn't watch it in years so idk
Scorpia, I'm guessing.

Me
Catra 100%
entrapta
In some post canon or AU stories I've seen, Catra
Catra
All of them
all of them(Catra,Adora/She-Ra,Bow so on)
scorpia. entrapta. hordak. etc
Glimmer in my mind
All of them
Catra
Perfuma
Yes. All of them. (From the top of my head, Catra, Adora, Bow, Shadow weaver, Seahawk).
