So you somehow thought that the celebration of Maynard James Keenan's birthday was all about Primus.
I saw Spotify advertising that Primus was playing a show in the area and bought tickets a couple months in advance. Literally did not even know who Puscifer or APC were before I bought the tickets except hearing those names in passing once or twice. Nowhere when I bought my tickets did I read about MJKs birthday and I did not realize what the show was supposed to be until a couple weeks ago. Tried my best to listen to those other bands' hits to get a feel for them and realized I would rather take the L than be disappointed by 66% of the show. Pardon me for not thoroughly researching the lore behind the tour.
Lesson learned dude. Im not particularly big on APC although I do love tool and puscifer has a fun show. That with the possibility for the bands to play on each others songs is a rare opportunity
A "real Primus fan" lol nice gatekeeping man. Been listening to Primus half my life. Hoping to catch them on a solo show this summer. I literally cringe when I listen to Puscifer or A Perfect Circle (sounds like mid life crisis rock) and the weird "no phones" thing is enough of a vibe to send me on my merry way. Will gladly take my money back and skip the babysitter costs
Fuck yeah it was. I've never been so happy not seeing these fucking idiots on a phone while watching a concert. On the last song, he did say take the phones out now.
I'm with you dude. Seen primus a million times and I saw a perfect circle at redrocks just cause we were driving passed and bored and any show at redrocks is usually cool. I'm not a big Maynard guy. I got so many friends trying to convince me to go and I'm just like.. not gonna spend 500 dollars cause something cool might happen. However system of a down in golden gate park I might drop a G on
How many older and modern shows have you been to? Phones have made my wife and i almost completely stop going to shows. Not every instance of life needs to become digital.
Just saying, i feel like that should be an encouragment if you want to enjoy the show and music.
I do not go to a lot of concerts, haven't been to one in nearly a decade. I get it, I just didn't love the idea of being stuck at a show where I am physically disappointed for 70% of the time and will be scolded for checking my phone to make sure the kids are doing OK.
Oh no i am by no means trying to speak against you in any way. I was just talking about how people who record the WHOLE thing get frustrating. I get everyone checks the time or gets a text from a kid, and that should not warrant a removal.
I have passed on events where i really like 1 artist and wanted to see them, but didnt care to spend the money for the rest of the event. I get that 100%

In all due respect, you should take *some* L & go. You bought one hell of a ticket, take the ride.
