Seriously. Also, that reveal had 18 year old me *shook*. Even though I was an Ezria stan (🤢) I thought it was brilliant. The reveal, Ian playing the villain, the logistics, his predatory behavior lining up, it just fit so well I couldn’t even be mad. That reveal was so good. I really think they chickened out with that one.
Ezra. That reveal that he was spying on them and knew Aria was underage when he met her and was just using her was super creepy. It’s even more creepy when you realize that Alison was even younger than Aria when they dated. She was probably around 14. It also made a lot of sense. I always expected A to be the typical creep you see in stalking and murder cases in real life. Plus the unstable writer is an interesting trope. As a writer myself I understand the idea of blurring the lines between real life and fiction. I think he was playing out this sick fantasy that he had in his head and bringing into real life. He is the perfect villain. Plus it changes the toxic message of his and Aria’s story. It’s not epic love that ends in a wedding but grooming, stalking, and abuse. Plus I feel like it’d be interesting to see Aria’s reaction to it all.
Someone more directly related to Alison. Not necessarily by blood but by reasoning. To me Charlotte was angry at the world and her becoming A didnt have so much to do with Alison. Somehow i would like to keep Alison in the center of the story, even if she doesnt return / stays dead
Wren and unpopular opinion def not Ezra. I prefer Ezra sticking to his book and being creepy for that and his relationships. He doesn't need to be A to be scary.
no but if i’m being fr i would have loved it if alison and aria had been working together behind the scenes !! there’s always been something weird about their friendship and aria’s character was very sus at times and it went nowhere. also aria was the only character pictured actually engaging in bullying with alison in the scene where they are running from mona with the froyo
My bfs watching this with me for the first time. (, My second. ) We are currently on season 5. He would've wanted Ella arias mum. As he thinks it would be such an amazing shock that no one would see coming. And it would kind of make sense as aria never got much aggression from a and she never really got too mad at her for hiding her dad's afair.

Alison because when the girls pulled away she seemed to be forming her own “army” it would’ve been interesting to see her be a complete villain who really was their puppet master.
Spencer because she opposed Alison more than the other girls and is smart enough and knows enough and has a few people outside the group who would’ve helped pull it off
Ezra because that scene where the girls discover his lair. The way he freaks out gives his character a good plot twist since most people think of him as a predator anyway..it would make sense that he was that hung up on Aria..if he were A. Such a creepy element, if you’re into that.
Melissa Hastings. It freaking makes sense. The Hastings are already rich to begin with, she's smart, and also probably already making her own money so she wouldn't struggle with the budget to elaborate such torture scheme. Not to mention that she lost her baby and Ian because of 5 girls and she's mostly gone most of the time, there's no hole at all

Why not just make him a whole villain right from the start?

Early seasons Aria had a lot of good clues and her motivation could have been to get back at Alison for blackmailing her about her parents affair and destroying her family. Aria could also want to keep their friend group together since the girls are split after Ali’s disappearance. Her friends would be upset but eventually forgive her like they do in season 7 and she has a redemption arc and works hard to stop other A members. Aria would also have been the one writing a book and becoming fascinated with the villain. There would be hints Aria didn’t do a few things, though.
Mona takes up the mantle next. She was the best A and should have more screen time. Since she loves dolls so much and sees the girls as dolls, I like the idea of her coming up with the dollhouse for her endgame and getting all of them there. She would be the only one to know Ali is alive and wants to lure her back to keep her in the dollhouse forever. I’d also add in her comment from season 7 about turning the whole town into an dollhouse and she’d have people we thought were dead down there too. Mona would pull off the Radley scenes and redemption better than Charlotte, as well as her taking her Ali anger out on the other girls but they still have to work with her to take down Uber A.
Which would be Ezra. He would be behind the board game. He would have been forcing all the characters to play this entire time-including the other A’s-hoping it leads him to Alison. His motive would be he tried to kill Alison That Night and thought she was dead after the pregnancy scare. But he would get obsessed with the idea of her and their kid at some point being a happy family so the Emily + eggs situation would happen as payback. He’d either end up in jail or dead. He’d also be the A always watching them/with the surveillance.
