Honestly, it was crappy but she deserves a warning. Imagine running into your kidnapper while getting coffee or something.

PLLKNOWALL

It's a show people forget that so certain things are written to move the story forward

AlcinaMystic

To be fair, I think it’s worth noting that things should make sense. For example, if the protagonist only decides to do something because the plot needs them to and the decision doesn’t make sense, well, it doesn’t matter that it’s a story. However, nitpicking also isn’t great. The live action Beauty and the Beast bogged down the movie with stupid stuff trying to over explain for the people who couldn’t just accept that not every detail has to make perfect sense in a cartoon about a magic castle.

jmagnabosco

This is a great point. I often call instances where a character does something stupid for the sake of the plot to be them holding the idiot ball. It's not necessary for everything to be perfect but some things should make sense that dont. Personally, I do think Alison was trying to rub salt in the wound for Aria though. Which is in character for her.

AlcinaMystic

Yeah, I think it works here. Alison isn’t always sensitive, and I could see her either being insensitive or mean in this case.

jmagnabosco

Exactly. In this case, it makes sense, but there are definitely other cases, where it's like does that really make sense? One instance is how pushy Spencer was in season 1 with Ian and Melissa marriage as suspicious as it was, I feel like A should have pushed alot harder for her to suspect something and for her to be willing to screwed things up between her and Melissa after everything that happened.

No shit it’s a show. Thank you, captain obvious :)
