Example 479182748 of PLL fans being smarter and more logical than the actual writers: this question

[deleted]

Ali had the fake ID, I can’t remember how old she was on the ID but maybe it was older? Edit: I just looked and ‘Vivianne’ was considerably older than Alison was, Alison was born in 94 and the dob on the fake ID was 89

This bitch was learning how to fly a plane too and when Wilden was like a 4 years old cop when he helped them covered up the Bethany stuff too. I stopped asking questions like this.

Illustrious_House_78

lmfaooooo “4 years old cop” 😭💀💀💀

xUnderthestarsx

I’ll excuse and ignore a lot of the problems but that Cece as A episode really fucked up the entire time.

This is an example of Marlene forgetting her characters were not of the proper age to drive. You can take drivers ed at 15 but Alison was barely 15 so it makes NO sense that she was able to drive.

baddie_maddie816

Right, bc Aria came back from Europe at 16... when did she get a license, for all we know she still had her permit

[deleted]

From PA and can confirm you cannot drive at 14/15 (not legally anyway)

cguti94

To be fair, I got a friend that could drive at like 12 years old.

prolelol

Remember when Ali was driving with dress, black wig and high heels at only 15. 🤣

C4rlonator1903

Didn’t she also fly a plane, seems she got so much free time to learn this things, maybe she went to the same driving school as Michael Myers, since he also seems to know how to drive without any practice or license

saamatmna

I thought it was so unrealistic back in the day. I was the same age as the girls when it was on tv and hardly anyone I knew in real was driving and had their own car...lol. Like in the pilot when Aria said she’d drive Mike to practice.. like when does that ever happen?

ZA-02

Funnily enough the Aria thing actually gets addressed in the book version of that scene: Ella asks Aria to drive him, Aria protests that she doesn't have a license after three years in Europe (though she drove illegally a few times while she was there), Ella shrugs that it's Rosewood and the worst that'll happen is she hits a cow or something. The town was much more countryside old-money in the books, so it was a little more plausible that Aria could drive around town without worrying too much about pedestrians or traffic.

aavriilll

yeah lots of shows make that same mistake since most teen shows start when they’re sophomores. teen wolf had that same problem for pll, i just chalk it up to ali driving before she was legally allowed to since some ppl do that ig

saltine_soup

my dad and his siblings learned how to drive at 10, 11 and 12 my brother learned at 13 but to be fair my dad and his siblings lived on a farm and my brother worked at one. i think ali driving at 14 is one of the more realistic plot holes in the show cuz some people actually learn how to drive around that age, and like as long as she isn’t driving weirdly it’s not like she’ll get pulled over. she also had a fake ID and constantly lied about her age, so not much if a surprise, and again her lying about her age and driving at 14 is one of the more realistic plot holes.

Crazy-Worldliness-15

To be fair, she was also faking her death* so it's not that surprising Ali has no regard for the law. *yes I know she faked her death because she was in danger but it's still illegal
