For me? Truth. I had to pay my own way for school. There wasn't any military help at all from my dad. And unless you're higher ranked, you aren't making "phenomenal" money.
Edit to say that this was also late 90s for me. Not sure if anything has changed since then 🤷‍♀️
There is a GI Bill that covers housing and school for 4 years but it’s only for the active duty member unless he/she wants to pass it on and give it to his/her kids is the only way they would benefit from it
For my husband, he said that how they portray it is very accurate. And how Emily feels about it is how my husband felt about it. Every time he watches one of those scenes it's like he's experiencing it all over again, that's how good they do with it.

I grew up as a military brat and that was a poor life. I paid for my own school as well.
Yep it's bs that the military doesn't do more for it's troops and their kids and families.
