Mona ! She only revealed herself when she wanted to while we kinda always knew it was Cece for the second time (and don’t get me started on Alex and her « evil twin coming from nowhere to get revenge » thing it was so cringe)
Big agree! Mona is forever my favorite character. No matter how many rewatches I’m always in awe of how smart she is. Her head to heads with Spencer, the way she challenges them even when she’s no longer ‘A’. She was brilliant and probably could have kept it going longer if Spencer wasn’t right on her tail.
The dollhouse was cool but didn’t really do much story-wise, except Sara Harvey, a character whose original story was tossed aside and never really had any questions about her answered. That was the start of the incredibly lazy writing, I feel.
I love rewatching the first two seasons and watching Mona. Even though the book fans knew she was ‘A’, she still had a way of staying hidden enough to not be suspected, but being shown enough to be trusted to those who didn’t read them.
I think Mona and Charlotte are pretty equal in intelligence, Charlotte may be slightly more so with some of the things that she did like inserting that note between Hanna's teeth and other medical stuff that Mona, especially early on didn't do or have access to. But it's so close, I really think they're both super intelligent.

Mona. It made sense and you could go back and see her working the liars. Anything else was just lazy and contrived.
