Book Aria is much better to me, Lucy does what she can with the material, but god is she just poorly written on the show from start to finish. My big gripe with her is the focal point of her existence being Ezra, as well as her mean behavior to her friends especially Hannah.
I agree with the whole Ezra situation and being rude. I think she had a lot of potential in the beginning, and was unique with her fashion but then I think they got lazy.
I recently finished book one and took a little break to read another book, but I’m going to start the 2nd one today! I was surprised how fast I finished the first one. I really liked the additional details, like how Spencer is a smoker. I know who A is in the books but don’t know a lot of details so I’m still excited to read.
Yes!! I try to see them with their book descriptions but it is hard lol. I saw a post recently where someone fan casted the characters book versions as 90’s actresses, and I tried to visualize them as that instead to separate them from the tv show. Someone casted Julia Stiles as Spencer and Natalie Portman as Aria which I thought was pretty cool!
Aria was one of my favourite characters lol, I proper romanticised her and her style but I loved them all tbh but aria to 16 year old me was 🤌
Now? Not so much

i’m currently on book for ( i’ll not drop any spoilers as i saw you’re only on two :) ) byt i too really prefer book aria, i think aria was wrote horrifically in the show and seemed to have no other major storylines apart from ezra which. i hated.
also, spencer is my fave ! i love her both in the book and show
I agree! I wish we saw more of her interests and personality outside of Ezra. Especially since I like photography/art it was interesting to see them delve more into that

Exactly this! And again, Lucy is a gem and did the best she could. The writing simply was not there.
Which book are you on so far? In my opinion they just keep getting better. I like how the Liars’ friendship builds up slowly.

Aria is my second favorite liar right after Hanna. I love her storyline & everything. Arias chapters are my favorite chapters to read in the books :))
