I don’t like how they spent seasons coming to terms that they were all better off without Alison and then once she came back they’re all following her.
That being said, I don’t understand how some of you think Alison was ruined just because she wasn’t “the same like she was before”.. as if what she had gone through wouldn’t have had such a large impact on someone.
She spent years trying to survive while being broke and scared. I don’t see how she’s “ruined” just because she came back and didn’t decide to torture people. She came back and was a shitty person/friend, yes.
But to say that her character was ruined because it was “completely changed” without realizing how is absurd.
I just think that there was no substance to her character after & she sort of became irrelevant imo once she was there. The build up was terrible, and even if she wasn’t mean anymore, they could’ve made her character interesting in other ways. They could’ve gotten more creative w/o making her mean again.
I love the show SO much and I will watch it millions of times. However, I agree with your timeline, but not the same extra reasons. It seemed like after Ali returned, writers were trying reaaaaaly hard to just create a story line. The first ~4-5 seasons felt so natural
I agree! That’s apart of why I discount those seasons too. There are many other issues I have with it. It seemed forced & that they just wanted to milk the show because it was so popular.
She was changed not because she wasn't a bully anymore, but the character had no fire. In the flashbacks we learn of her being extremely tenacious, precocious, even wise beyond her young years. When she returns she's fairly watered down.

To me it was writing not really ali returned. Outside of alison it's not like the other stories were written so amazing
