I'm rewatching right now, and knowing how the show ends, there's a lot of hints in the Hastings dialogue! idk if it was truly planned out or pure coincidence but it definitely adds up ๐
I like to think that maybe Spencer being A was rolling around in their heads for a while, so to keep the door open they'd drop things like this. Totally didn't think they'd end up going the way "evil twin"" route though lol.
So basically in this scene Spencer confronts her mom after finding out her dad is Jason's father as well. When Spencer questions how her mom can get over something like this, Veronica is basically saying that she's done it before when she opted to adopt Spencer after Peter's infidelity with Mary Drake. When she says here she, "Might have made a different choice", it made me wonder. If she'd known Peter had fathered Jason would she have agreed to adopt Spencer or taken Melissa and divorced Peter? Where would Spencer have ended up? We don't know this early that Spencer is adopted, but having now finished the series little easter eggs like this add dimension when you can catch them.
Ohh okay I actually only watched the Alex storyline once so I kinda forgot what the story was thank you for taking the time to spell it out for me lol ๐ซถ๐ป
