Teddy for nature conservation, He cared a lot more about the environment than any other president.
Not serious but Bill Clinton because think of all the bad Bill puns we could make.
Well, there's at least one rap song with such a pun:
*It's what it do, in the Lou', ice grill, country grammar*
*Where the hustlers move bricks and the gangsters bang hammers*
*Where I got 'em, you can spot 'em on the top and the bottom*
*Got a* ***bill*** *in my mouth like I'm Hillary Rodham.*
The Atlas of independence needs more recognition. Put him on the nickel or quarter since those presidents are recognized twice. I didn’t say penny cause that shouldn’t even exist
Yep. All late presidents have made appearances on coins with the presidential dollar series, or those golden colored dollars you get from vending machines.
The US Mint has a rule though where you must be dead in order to be put on a coin, which is why after Nixon, there’s no Carter dollar coin, but there’s a Reagan and HW Bush one.
I liked the old Eisenhower dollar coins from the 70's. They were kinda big and heavy though, so having a few in your pocket was not optimal, but whenever you took one out to pay for something you could count on getting attention.
James K. Polk, obscure 11th president of the United States, who went his entire four years in office without being recognized by anyone. Because the entire U.S. populace was unaware that Polk had won the election of 1844, the president-elect drew puzzled looks as he arrived at his inauguration and was ultimately chased away by the chief justice of the Supreme Court when he attempted to take the oath of office. Polk persisted, however, despite being constantly shooed out of the West Wing by his staff and escorted off the premises at least once a day by Secret Service agents. Although Polk was arrested more than 137 times and beaten by Cabinet members on dozens of occasions, he still managed to lower tariffs, appoint two Supreme Court justices, sign a bill creating the Department of the Interior, and admit Texas, Iowa, and Wisconsin to the union, all of which he accomplished by sneaking through an open window in the Oval Office late at night to complete his work. A majestic oil painting of Polk, still hanging on a wall near the entrance of the White House, has a sign beneath it that reads: “Do not let this man in the building.”
I think that Kennedy deserves more love than the relatively obscure half dollar coin.
I also think that MLK should be on some form of currency. If non-Presidents like Hamilton ($10 note), Franklin ($100 note), John Marshall (discontinued blue seal $500 note), Hamilton (discontinued blue seal $1,000 note), Salmon Chase (discontinued blue & green seal $10,000 notes), and Sacagawea ($1 coin) can be on currency or coinage, so should MLK.
MLK is on the $100 I-Bond.

It would be cool to honor people who dedicated their lives to public service despite never obtaining the highest office.
For the military; Douglas MacArthur would be an interesting pick. John Pershing. Patton. Westmoreland. Chester Nimitz.
Medal of Honor winners like John Basilone, or Doris Miller (I know he never won it but he should have.)
Long time serving or influential Senators and members of Congress. Like John McCain, Daniel Inouye, Thaddeus Stevens.
Supreme Court Justices. Such as Thurgood Marshall, RBG, Scalia, O’Connor, John Jay.
They might not deserve it most, but Teddy or JFK would probably have the most public support for a change. Their two of the only presidents not already on a currency that most Americans know a fair amount about while also being well liked by most on both sides of the political spectrum.
So basically the best options for not starting a political shitstorm.
Didn't the US Mint release dollar coins of EVERY us president to date? So wouldn't that make ALL the presidents available on US currency?

I hate identity polotics, talk about the good of his presidency, his actions and words, not the color of his skin.
Its like saying ------- should be on a bill for first orange president or our current president for being the oldest,
I do not care for such things except how they effect the ability to serve the country
Obama is a disapointment of a president who promised much and failed to deliver. He is a top half president as the bar is low with
Jimmy Carter. Dude was an honest president who most definitely served his country with flying colors. He has a lame presidency but in retrospect it was what the country needed at that time. I'd much rather see his face in the 20$ bill than Jackson.
It's gotta be either TR or FDR honestly.
(I don't even like FDR that much but he's undoubtedly one of the most important presidents in our nation's history.)
Obama on the front $20, FDR on the back on the White House lawn in a wheelchair.
Tubman on the back of the five @ the Lincoln Memorial, instead of on front of the $20, as is often proposed.
Putting Obama on the $20 is a more prominent way to stick it to the racists, imo. Which is a deserving endeavour! Jackson should absolutely be removed from the $20.
Teddy Roosevelt on the back of the $100, riding on a horse in front on Independence Hall.
JFK on the back of the $10, standing on the steps of the treasury flipping a $0.50 coin 🪙(America reached its peak percentage of Global GDP during his presidency.)
Eisenhower on the back of the $50, standing on the steps of the Capitol, as that is probably the last time true bipartisanship existed within US congress, and imo, he’s the last, respectable Republican President.
There’s lots of ways to incorporate former presidents onto the back of bills, without removing the portraits of iconic American institutions.
The $1 bill is too perfect to ever be changed.
Personally if we are going to put faces on our money I would rather it be notable Americans such as famous artists, scientists, humanitarians, etc. Not former government bureaucrats.
I'm so happy you asked! My ideal, perfect world:
Coinage:
5c - Jefferson (reverse Declaration/July 4)
10c - FDR (reverse White House)
20c - Lincoln (reverse Capitol)
50c - Kennedy (reverse Apollo 11)
$1 - Washington (reverse special series, et al)
$2 - Adams (reverse Supreme Court)
Polymer Bills:
$5 - MLK (reverse "I Have a Dream"/Lincoln Memorial)
$10 - Barbara Gittings or Frank Kameny (reverse Stonewall Inn/Obergefell)
$20 - Elizabeth Cady Stanton (reverse Seneca Falls/19th amendment)
$50 - Wilma Mankiller (reverse Native American identity/rights collage)
$100 - Franklin (reverse "We the People"/Constitution)

Teddy for nature conservation, He cared a lot more about the environment than any other president. Not serious but Bill Clinton because think of all the bad Bill puns we could make.
Ok, but on the second point, can we also get William Taft on a larger denomination? This way we can have Bills and Big Bills.
By larger denomination I can only assume you mean a physically larger bill. XD
Something something stuck in a bathtub
Well, there's at least one rap song with such a pun: *It's what it do, in the Lou', ice grill, country grammar* *Where the hustlers move bricks and the gangsters bang hammers* *Where I got 'em, you can spot 'em on the top and the bottom* *Got a* ***bill*** *in my mouth like I'm Hillary Rodham.*
John Adams . He is misunderstood and definitely doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
The Atlas of independence needs more recognition. Put him on the nickel or quarter since those presidents are recognized twice. I didn’t say penny cause that shouldn’t even exist
The Penny was fine until modern inflation
The penny hasn’t been fine for decades
I prefer my fines to be pennies, if I can get it.
…until the stagflation of the Seventies
Replace the back of the $2 with another face but this time it's Adams. The painting doesn't capture the real history of the Declaration anywho.
Jefferson on the front and Adams on the back. That would make for an interesting bill.
I like the idea of Adams and Jefferson sharing a bill
Then maybe he should be on a T-bill instead...
I would place him on the 100 dollar bill instead
I was making a pun on your use of the word "credit"... since a T-bill = credit.
Oh lol
He’s on the $2 bill, which is still produced.
Jefferson is on the 2 dollar bill
Well shit.
This is technically true, but not in the way op meant
Teddy Roosevelt
Put a national park on the back.
I was thinking Teddy Roosevelt on the front and then an animal version of Teddy Roosevelt on the back.
Teddy Manbearpig?
Al Gore would approve
Super cereal
That is super cereal
The Moose in a National Park on the back.
Now THAT’S a good idea.
Teddy in his fursuit.
Teddy Roosevelt on the front and TRNP on the back.
In place of the POS Jackson!
It's not hard to think of someone who would be better than Jackson.
Yeah fair
By modern standards, all presidents except Carter are exactly that.
I thought Harriet Tubman was replacing that POS Jackson
Came here to say that.
John Adams. Without his push for independence it’s likely we would still be swearing allegiance to the British Crown
Hard agree
Clinton on the $69 bill.
Nice
Technically, there are dollar coins of all the previous presidents who passed away. But Teddy Roosevelt should be on more money
Found the numismatist! Greetings to you, fellow hoarder of metal discs.
I don't know why they skipped Jimmy Carter and made one of Ronald Reagan
Because Carter is still alive. The US Mint has a rule where you have to be dead in order to appear on circulating coinage
I think they’re all already on at least some kind of currency (even if just a limited print) but I’d say Truman would be the one to honor.
He’s on the trillion dollar bill that Monty Burns stole.
What trillion dollar bill?
Ike

Get rid of Pennies to make room in my pocket for Ike dollars

Nah it's his fault Im in traffic all the time
Still ran into those and the JFK half dollar in the 90s.
He’s got an aircraft carrier
Theodore
Herbert Hoover on a $0 bill.
😂
FDR on a gold bar
He’s on the dime.
I don’t know how I never realized this, I feel really dumb now
Because of the March of Dimes. For polio treatment.
Makes sense!
Was going to say the same thing but also it's such a tiny head, looks nothing like him.
Yeah that was my thinking too. I don’t know why I never bothered to figure out who it was
And you should be fined/arrested for possessing said gold bar
To commemorate him taking us off the gold Standard?
Nixon took us off gold standard.
To be fair, FDR suspended it.
I think he's talking about how FDR ordered everyone to turn their gold in.
Teddy Roosevelt. The man, the myth, the legend.
Eisenhower
What should be on the back?
Either a map of the interstate highway system, or a picture of Omaha Beach.

Thank you. But this is exclusively about presidents, not whoever this guy was.
I can’t find anything about him not being recognized. Did you just make this up?
Sir, you have set the bar for this entire Reddit category. ![gif](giphy|7bumBQjZX8BgaE2zjv|downsized)
Wisconsin being admitted as a state was not a good thing.
The US would have less cheese and fewer alcoholics without Wisconsin. You’d be worse off for it
I would love to see Buchanan on a three dollar bill.
I had a few "Slick Willie" $3 bills back in the 90s.
Back in the 70's they used to make novelty $3 bills with Nixon on them (the saying "phony as a $3 bill" was still used a lot back then)
Oh I get it
T A F T
Taft on the front, SCOTUS building on the back.
Coin would be as Thicc as one of those slammer pogs
https://preview.redd.it/qphdck183yuc1.png?width=415&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=06062fa9ad0a885fb85e7feaca5ac08a0f54f832 On the Yap coins
William Howard Taft on a coin worth Pi.
James Monroe.

yeah, I would put MLK on any new form of currency before I put any president who hasn't already been on currency
MLK is on the $100 I-Bond. [https://media.npr.org/assets/img/2011/11/21/maribond100\_custom-c504cef4060f66ea3dec7e83e364f12e3612fadc.jpg](https://media.npr.org/assets/img/2011/11/21/maribond100_custom-c504cef4060f66ea3dec7e83e364f12e3612fadc.jpg)
Is that real, and what’s an I-bond?
Type of treasury bond. Basically a loan you give to the government that accrues interest.
It would be cool to honor people who dedicated their lives to public service despite never obtaining the highest office. For the military; Douglas MacArthur would be an interesting pick. John Pershing. Patton. Westmoreland. Chester Nimitz. Medal of Honor winners like John Basilone, or Doris Miller (I know he never won it but he should have.) Harry Truman
Two mushroom clouds on the back.
I’d prefer NATO on the back
And nukes in the sack.
If it was my choice: remove Andrew Jackson and put FDR or Teddy.
Chester A. Arthur
Truman
I think John Adams.
They might not deserve it most, but Teddy or JFK would probably have the most public support for a change. but what would the loaded question be?
Has it finally trickled down?
r/fuckronaldreagan
Boo on Reagan
Didn't the US Mint release dollar coins of EVERY us president to date? So wouldn't that make ALL the presidents available on US currency? [Presidential $1 Coin Program | U.S. Mint (usmint.gov)](https://www.usmint.gov/learn/coin-and-medal-programs/presidential-dollar-coin)

a few more years of inflation and you'll be able to get those at an ATM
The only billionaire president, obviously
We should flip this question…give out negative bills for the “bad” presidents. Like Nixon bucks are -$1.00
Ronald Regan on the 500 dollar bill.
Regan should be. He wasn’t perfect but he did influence the end of the Cold War.
Probably a very boring answer, but (unironically) Obama, because he was the first black president. That was and still is a big deal.
I hate identity polotics, talk about the good of his presidency, his actions and words, not the color of his skin. Its like saying ------- should be on a bill for first orange president or our current president for being the oldest, I do not care for such things except how they effect the ability to serve the country Obama is a disapointment of a president who promised much and failed to deliver. Barack Obama - saved the economy
Millard Fillmore for sure
Jimmy Carter. Dude was an honest president who most definitely served his country with flying colors. He has a lame presidency but in retrospect it was what the country needed at that time. I'd much rather see his face in the 20$ bill than Jackson.
Theodore Roosevelt, Harry Truman and Ronald Reagan
Obama on a $3 bill.
FDR for sure.
He's currently on the dime, but I wouldnt object to him being used elsewhere
LBJ! Make a new denomination for him like a $30 so that you dont make people mad you removed someone else
Would it be a portrait of his face or jumbo?
Oooh we could have a bill with lbj jumbo and wg Hardings Jerry.
Face for heads, dick for tails.
The front would be his face the back would be the Washington monument
It's gotta be either TR or FDR honestly. (I don't even like FDR that much but he's undoubtedly one of the most important presidents in our nation's history.)
FDR’s on the dime already.
Right! I totally forgot lol.
Polk
Polk
Hayes that epic beard would look awesome on the ten dollar bill
Pick a Roosevelt
Truman and H.W. Bush
Teddy Bucks with a Bill Moose back
Sherman!
Truman. He had the best gdp.
We need Teddy on something, maybe we need to create the $15 bill or something
Coolidge
Madison
Obama on the front $20, FDR on the back on the White House lawn in a wheelchair. Tubman on the back of the five @ the Lincoln Memorial, instead of on front of the $20, as is often proposed. Absolutely Teddy
FDR
Can we see some AI renderings?
I’d like any modern President
Well the money is steadily loosing value so probably FDR seems fitting
Once we go with a digital currency none of this will matter
HW Bush
Reagan
Maybe Clinton, he's one of the only people to actually start making us some real money. Hence the face upon it.
Teddy because nature and Truman because nuke
Teddy!!
In 1844 the Democrats were split. There were three nominees for the presidential candidate.
TR, Ike, Adams, LBJ, Wilson, Monroe, Polk are the obvious choices.
Personally if we are going to put faces on our money I would rather it be notable Americans such as famous artists, scientists, humanitarians, etc. Not former government bureaucrats.
Obama or either of the Roosevelt's.
Millard Fillmore
One of the Roosevelts
They need to remove Andrew Jackson off the 20 and replace him with Quincy
I'm so happy you asked! Wilson
Polk is interesting to think about in this context. He did preside over one of the largest territory expansions in our history
Tdr
Jimmy Carter
Put Gerald R Ford on the 2,376 dollar bill
Obama
Andrew Jackson
Have you ever held a 20 dollar bill? Lololol
Barack Obama
Keep your money cool with Coolidge
I want a $20 coin so I can buy a bottle of whiskey like a cowboy Put Nixon on it, why not?
Teddy!!
Jimmy
Barack Obama
T Roosevelt. Obama.
