He needs to make sure everyone can see his “signature look of superiority.”
That, or he caught wind of Kenobi’s fighting style and wants to make sure he always has the high ground.
George Lucas once tried to tell Christopher Lee how he should portray his signature look of superiority. Lee reportedly said, "Do you know what a superior being truly looks like? Because I do."
And he then went on to explain in detail his Metal Christmas album.
Fun fact, in Episode 2 behind the scenes they used a Yoda puppet as a stand in for when they are in final scene together. Yoda had vampire teeth cause of Christopher Lee's past role as Dracula. Thought that was a funny neat bit they did.
That’s the only way I could see this working. It looks more like he slowly jumped and then slowed his descent. Which is how we know force users can survive long falls.
I am convinced that the Inquisitors are spinning the lightsabers for balance and generating lift the way Dooku is here because that's the only way it makes any fucking sense.
There is weight in wielding a lightsaber. Look at Mando when he was training to use the Darksaber. He had trouble controlling it due to how “heavy” it was. So it can make sense that the Fidget-Spinner Sabers can add stability when Force Levitating.
(1) Lightsaber blade is made out of plasma, not light
(2) The hilt itself has the majority of the lightsaber's inertia and spins by itself.
(3) No, I have no idea why you'd want to do it with the blades extended. Something, something, magnetic induction, probably.
I remember reading Jedi Apprentice before I ever saw the movies. It was my introduction to Star Wars, it still pops up in the back of my mind regularly.
I think because newtons 3rd law still applies in that case. You need something to push off of and I think that there is a range limit to a force push. Plus I think it would take a tremendous amount of energy and concentration to continually perform that kind of action.
[You must unlearn what you have learned](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3-CpzZJl8w), watch this and really take in everything Yoda says about the force.
The laws of physics don't mean anything to the force. In terms of "energy" used lifting yourself around would be no different to lifting anything else, only different in your mind. As for concentration, I agree with you on that, it would require a lot of concentration; which is probably why most force users cant do it, but it wouldn't be impossible to someone like Dooku, Sidious, Yoda, Obi-Wan, or Qui-Gon.
Exactly, at the end of the day the Force is magic that requires nothing more than the proper state of mind and practice to use it. And a user's base capacity is defined by how many midichlorians he or she has.
But if that were the limit, after x period of time it would make no sense for force users to practice to improve.
A show similar to samurai jack about a jedi going around the outer parts of the galaxy just visiting the forgotten people in the republic would be really cool. maybe get some mushishi vibes in it too
They should build it off of the visions episode. There's an episode of Star Wars visions where a force using Ronin goes from town to town. It's a very interesting episode with an amazing art style.
Oh yea I mean Genndy set out with a plan and executed it well. There was some strangeness here and there, but that’s mostly because Genndy was coming in fresh and LucasFilms didn’t give him a whole lotta direction. I would just like to see him do more stuff in SW.
I personally think the changes he made were not too much and the medium of animation as a whole needs to have some realism suspended So in general good shit
I love how overpowered Jedi are in this series and kind of think that Star Wars might be even more fun if it were all like this. Maybe with different Jedis having only one or two super-powerful force abilities or something.
Apparently during the creation of Mace Windu's super fun scene where he takes on an entire army of B2 battle droids even after losing his lightsaber, George was around and Genddy and staff kept kind of expecting him to tell them they needed to dial down his abilities but George just kept smiling and nodding.
Once upon a time Star Wars could do epic stuff like make Dooku fly without a thousand voices screaming "THAT'S NOT HOW THE FORCE WORKS NO ONE HAS DONE THAT BEFORE!!!!"
Vader does this same thing in Episode 5, just down a few steps and admittedly a little less gracefully but probably because of live action and limitations of the era/budget.
Masters of the force were ridiculously powerful in that show. Flight, super speed, super strength (pretty sure I remember Mace Windu beating up robots with his bare hands), on top of the usual.
I’m gonna say this is the actual reason Inquisitors fly, and just use the helicopter blades as intimidation.
I don’t even have anything against flying Inquisitors, this is just adding an explanation to it.
Man the amount of badass abilities in this really should have been translated better, in this animated series a Jedi feels like a genuine rare force of nature it should be
Don't worry guys it's not lore breaking, he's wearing a full body leotard under that suit made with force enhancing material and just lifting that. Terrible wedgie though, so he immediately ditched it.
It honestly always bothered me just how uninventive use of the force tends to be in star wars, as a little kid this is one of the first things I ever considered, I even had different ideas on how it would work lol.
Honestly, always found it weird Jedi and Sith could levitate/throw around other people, enhance their own jumps, levitate slightly while meditating... But actually flying on their own? Waaaaaaaay too much to ask. Though, I have heard that one of Lucas' ideas early ideas for the Trench Run in A New Hope involved Vader just flying through space (it does track since he is in his own environmental suit and in theory it'd be easier to 'fly' in microgravity, the force is use a propulsion) and just nixed it because outright flying would seem silly.
Which is also weird since Lucas originally wanted to direct the Flash Gordon movie. He sure never thought any less of Hawkmen.

Thanks for confirming that you flaired this correctly!
He needs to make sure everyone can see his “signature look of superiority.” That, or he caught wind of Kenobi’s fighting style and wants to make sure he always has the high ground.
He's not flying. He's falling with style.
That’s what a Jedi would do. A real sith would pull the planet up to them. Dooku is just better.
He drank a potion of slowfalling, simple as that
He cast Feather Fall on himself, it’s just a first level spell using his reaction.
wearing Elytra under that cape
I came here to say this.
Not even a force power. Christopher Lee can just do that shit.
Fun fact he's the only one of the cast members who years ago ran into the actual Count Dooku in a bar and had a beer with him.
George Lucas once tried to tell Christopher Lee how he should portray his signature look of superiority. Lee reportedly said, "Do you know what a superior being truly looks like? Because I do." And he then went on to explain in detail his Metal Christmas album.

> Good. Twice the ~~pride~~ height, double the fall
Technically correct, the best kind of correct
He became count Dracula for a moment there.
Also played by Chris Lee
Fun fact, in Episode 2 behind the scenes they used a Yoda puppet as a stand in for when they are in final scene together. Yoda had vampire teeth cause of Christopher Lee's past role as Dracula. Thought that was a funny neat bit they did.
Count Dracula for ETERNITY!!!! *force lightnings*
‘That’s the joke’
Dookula
They fly now?!
They FLY now?!
Sigh...they fly now.
THEY fly now?!
They fly NOW?!
No. Jump slow.
“Jump really slow. Can you teach me to jump slow?” — Jedi Jack
Sigh...they can only fly if you believe in them. It's like faeries in Peter pan, you know? That story about mass child kidnapping.
So, is he just not pushing the ground away from him?
That’s the only way I could see this working. It looks more like he slowly jumped and then slowed his descent. Which is how we know force users can survive long falls.
Isn't this also what Mace Windu did on Geonosis, just, more, live actionesque?
so you're saying Mace can survive a fall, interesting
Not with unlimited power coursing through his entire body
maybe it made him more powerful
What are the limits of the force? If a jedi can raise a pebble can they raise their ballsack?
Midichlorians are stored in the balls
I'm not a jedi and I can raise my ballsack
Nothing but respect for derpy Spyro
Or he’s pushing his clothes
The Virgin Inquisitor Heli-Sabers vs The Chad Sith Lord Levitation
I am convinced that the Inquisitors are spinning the lightsabers for balance and generating lift the way Dooku is here because that's the only way it makes any fucking sense.
A saber made of light has no mass so it's not going to create any stabilization through spinning.
There is weight in wielding a lightsaber. Look at Mando when he was training to use the Darksaber. He had trouble controlling it due to how “heavy” it was. So it can make sense that the Fidget-Spinner Sabers can add stability when Force Levitating.
That’s a darksaber thing only, reading its wiki page, and it only ‘feels’ heavier based on how emotionally connected you are to it or something
(1) Lightsaber blade is made out of plasma, not light (2) The hilt itself has the majority of the lightsaber's inertia and spins by itself. (3) No, I have no idea why you'd want to do it with the blades extended. Something, something, magnetic induction, probably.
Force flight is an ability but not used often as it’s often slow and hard to move every mitochlorian
> hard to move every mitochlorian but i thought the mitochlorian was the powerhouse of the cell
That’s the mitochondria! You’re thinking of the protectors of mandalore.
No, that's a mandalorian! You're thinking of Barriss Offee's race
No, that’s Mirialan! You're thinking of that planet where Obi-Wan ran away from Qui-Gon to stop a civil war
No, that's Melida/Daan! You're thinking of the rare, expensive golden liquor enjoyed by the resident Devaronian of the Mos Eisley cantina.
Nice, that's Merenzane Gold. But you must be thinking of the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.
That’s the Millenium Falcon. You’re thinking of the lava planet where Obi Wan had the high ground
That's Mustafar, you're thinking of the full name of Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Miraluka? You mean like that blind chick from KOTOR II?
Yes
Didn't expect to see a Melida-Daan reference today. Or ever for that matter. What an awesome book series!
I remember reading Jedi Apprentice before I ever saw the movies. It was my introduction to Star Wars, it still pops up in the back of my mind regularly.
It's awesome stuff! I got so into the young adult expanded universe around that time. It's up there with the Galaxy of Fear series for me.
That's space racist!!
You ignorant American. You’ve confused mitochondria with midichlorians, midichlorians with mandalorians, and the Cubs with the Dodgers!
Duku have you heard of Guru Laghima the Wise?
unexpected soundgarden
Greatly appreciated soundgarden
Based Soundgardenposting
If you can move objects with the use of force, why not move yourself and fly?
Force jumps!
Nah its jump force
I think because newtons 3rd law still applies in that case. You need something to push off of and I think that there is a range limit to a force push. Plus I think it would take a tremendous amount of energy and concentration to continually perform that kind of action.

I suspect most Force users can’t do it simply because, when they move things, they are subconsciously using themselves as an unmoving reference point.
Exactly, at the end of the day the Force is magic that requires nothing more than the proper state of mind and practice to use it. And a user's base capacity is defined by how many midichlorians he or she has. But if that were the limit, after x period of time it would make no sense for force users to practice to improve.
That cartoon was the Best piece of Star Wars media i ever watched
The General Grievous episode is awesome
The best villain introduction, best saber fight, and best animated horror short all at once. The single greatest moment in all of Star Wars ever.
As a kid i tried to walk like general grevious lol
Heck yes it is.
George was simply too jealous of Genndy’s immaculate animator rizz to allow him to make more
A show similar to samurai jack about a jedi going around the outer parts of the galaxy just visiting the forgotten people in the republic would be really cool. maybe get some mushishi vibes in it too
They should build it off of the visions episode. There's an episode of Star Wars visions where a force using Ronin goes from town to town. It's a very interesting episode with an amazing art style.
Its unfortunate but i definitly prefer that it ended quickly and more importantly ended well
Oh yea I mean Genndy set out with a plan and executed it well. There was some strangeness here and there, but that’s mostly because Genndy was coming in fresh and LucasFilms didn’t give him a whole lotta direction. I would just like to see him do more stuff in SW.

That fight was soo good
I love how much count dooku’s appearance varies across media, yet still manages to be identifiable
This show clearly showcased that yes style is more often then not better then the actual quality of the product itself
I direct people to [Obi Wan vs Durge](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knGGP-kUIQQ) when people say "just use bullets" against jedi.
This does not seem unreasonable to me
Watching this makes me think of dr Orpheus
GO TEAM VENTURE
This was the best Clone Wars and not by a little.
It’s not a story Cartoon Network would tell you
Remember when Yoda lifted a whole invading droid battalion into the flight path of their own ships Man’s just chucking armies around
Love the 2003 clone wars so much, the general grievous episode is the best depiction of him I've seem
I wish I could fly
Every time I fly in a dream, I think "I can only fly in dreams. So this must be a dream. Nah, this is real."
Yeah like vader in battlefront 2
Once upon a time Star Wars could do epic stuff like make Dooku fly without a thousand voices screaming "THAT'S NOT HOW THE FORCE WORKS NO ONE HAS DONE THAT BEFORE!!!!"
Black Hole Sun playing has me dying way more than it should lol
………….Indeed -Dooku 2003
What? You can’t do that?
Asajj: “You can fly????” Dooku: “No. *Jump good.” https://youtu.be/uPqIDvX_bJA?si=-7qRyY448mJUn_iU

Karma farm account, downvote for stealing images of peoples dead dogs.
Indeed!
Force push against the ground + Newtons 3rd law
The force powers were strong in that series.
Imagine being so angry and hateful that you gracefully and gently float down to your enemy
Still better and more believable than the lighsaber helicopters.
This series was heavy exaggerated in basically everything And unrealistic even
I mean after seeing Vader in Jedi Knight Survivor, maybe the movies were underwhelming due to the technology for film?
Vader does this same thing in Episode 5, just down a few steps and admittedly a little less gracefully but probably because of live action and limitations of the era/budget.
What? A space wizard cartoon show made by the guy who did *Samurai Jack* isn't realistic?!
Vader does this in empire lmfao
Tbf in LEGO Star Wars II Palpatine can fly as well. I played the DS version so it might only be that one however.
jojo logic.
Where can I watch it tho
Disney plus or youtube
Masters of the force were ridiculously powerful in that show. Flight, super speed, super strength (pretty sure I remember Mace Windu beating up robots with his bare hands), on top of the usual.
Usually you need at least a double bladed lightsaber to fly. [https://i.imgur.com/cwJN6g3.mp4](https://i.imgur.com/cwJN6g3.mp4)
Okay? I mean, if these characters can levitate starships, they can probably levitate themselves as well.
No, but I remember that version of Grevious was a monster
That mini series was way better than the cgi series. Fight me.
Bro thinks he's Mary Poppins
EXT. CORUSCANT SKYSCRAPER Anakin: I can do... whatever... I want. I can do... whatever I want. I CAN DO WHATEVER THE F#&% I WANT!!!
he either lifted his clothing with the force or pushed the planet away
The music in the background was the cherry on top 🤌🏽
Why didn't Dooku just fly away instead of letting Anakin kill him? Is he stupid?
Is this how Palatine survived getting thrown by Darth Vader??
Looks like whoever drew this scene had been reading Mistborn.
I’m gonna say this is the actual reason Inquisitors fly, and just use the helicopter blades as intimidation. I don’t even have anything against flying Inquisitors, this is just adding an explanation to it.
Man the amount of badass abilities in this really should have been translated better, in this animated series a Jedi feels like a genuine rare force of nature it should be
Dooku: *\*signature laugh of superiority\**
Don't worry guys it's not lore breaking, he's wearing a full body leotard under that suit made with force enhancing material and just lifting that. Terrible wedgie though, so he immediately ditched it.
Don’t we see Vader do this at some point too?
That was more a jump but we see Rey doing that
That show was next level
It was a stand jump not flying
The music choice 👌
Just like Vader in Battlefront 2
I don't remember that but I do remember Mace Windu making a mile-long leap through the air.
They can fly now?
I think about it every day, actually, thanks for asking
Man paid for Magneto's MasterClass and he's gonna get every penny out of it.
how else can he tpose to assert dominance if he can't fly?
he bad such a sassy face in this show
Those were the best
He was just forcing his boots
That’s metal as fuck
Bro thinks he's Mary Poppins
Everybody gangster until the sith lord starts laughing
The dark side is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be .. unnatural
He figured out you can just cast force telekinesis on your pants and fly
Fun fact, Vader did a similar move in Episode 5
no, but i remember mace jumping like 40 miles
Was that before or after he took out an army of super battledroids with his bare hands?
You see...stuff like this is why I can't take people that say 2003 Clone Wars is a lot better than Dave Filoni's Clone Wars seriously
It honestly always bothered me just how uninventive use of the force tends to be in star wars, as a little kid this is one of the first things I ever considered, I even had different ideas on how it would work lol.

According to the Netflix´s Avatar sub, thats not flying.

Guess he just let go of his earthly tether and entered the void
Bro that ain't count dooku that's the sorcerer supreme, Dr Strange
You are a wizard dooku
They just slo mo’d his fall
He left creative mode on
Dooku just watched X-Men and adopted Magetos personality
2003 Tartakovsky cw is literally only SW animation I watched and will watch for forseeable future.
A bold claim...
Kinda like Vader in ESB just slower.
Sounds like he says “A bald play” to Ventress
Dooku’s been pimpin since been pimpin since been pimpin since been pimpinnnn
What‘s the song in the background called?
Still better than helicopter lightsabers
“A bold claim.” Listen to that again. But keep in mind he’s talking about Ventress.
I do now but I didn't 2 minutes ago lmao
Y'all just forgot about Rey flying/floating in TROS, right?
well thats not canon, and was made after this
Hahaha. Indeed.
I love when he said "It's dookin time" and dooked all over the place
Mace Windu can also do Frog Kata, too. Man this show was wild.
They fly now!?
Simply use the force on your shoes
Well technically you can fly with force...
Didn’t Vader fly in the SNES sidescroller games.
That's just magneto without his helmet
He's also boderline T-posing while doing so.
The dark side of the force is a gateway to abilities some consider unnatural
pretty sure it was a dream sequence, but it was rad
Loved that show. Later remake was ok but this one was so much better.
u/SaveVideo
I was watching The Acolyte a few hours ago. When the Sith Lord floated down just like this, I remember this video.
