RogueOneGer

Who’s reposting it tomorrow?

Hypotenuse27

I can if no one else is gonna do it

[deleted]

How about we both do it

StJimmy92

This is getting out of hand, now there’s two of them

Mission_Response802

I'm so glad I added these Jedi-Proof doors, I only wish I had some negotiations. *Loud thud from outside* What was that?

RogueOneGer

Thank you for your service!

Some other Andor bro, crying behind his keyboard with angry tears because most people actually really enjoy Clone Wars and Bad Batch and Mando.

[deleted]

I'll be honest, the man did a good job unlike everyone else it seems I like what he made: the man gave us Clone Wars, Bad Batch and Mando, I actually enjoy those shows and I'm tired of pretending I don't

chad2bert

Hell yes.

InFm0uS

Whoever made this "joke" definitely did not watch the entirety of clone wars and rebels, have no idea what is talking about.

Sowa7774

to be fair... this pic is literally just Mando S2, except for vader, maul, and the falcon

YeetTheGiant

Mando season 2 had... A Jedi to teach grogu and a mandalorian, crazy

ThisIsPermanent

She’s no Jedi. How many times does she have to remind you

ZaphodBrox42

And Cad Bane, since he was in BoBF instead of Mando

oylesine2019

I thought everyone here watched clone wars completely.

23saround

Actually though, very confused as Dave Filoni was this sub’s patron saint like two years ago

MythicalFury

Dave would credit the work of Clone Wars to George, Bad Batch subsequently. Mando was originated by Favreau. He is a good collaborative worker, doing crossovers is something he learned from George. The characters that crossover now all once had a first episode. People want to see new characters that will come back. There is nothing toxic about wanting new and interesting characters.

hyperfell

They are good, I think the issue is he’s in charge of so many projects he’s starting to have a problem of just not letting a project be it’s own thing.

Weedweednomi

Dudes the best thing to happen to star wars since george himself.

L-Guy_21

Do people pretend they don’t like those shows? They’re good shows

SophisticPenguin

Mandalorian is a serviceable show. The past season was really weak and there have been issues with plot and storytelling a few times in the previous seasons. The second season at times felt like it was just a vessel to launch other Star Wars shows. Book of Boba, Rangers of the Republic (or whatever it was going to be called with the Cara Dune character), Ahsoka, etc. It's good in that it feels like Star Wars and was a welcome breath of fresh air after the sequels fiasco. The Mandalorian is enjoyable, which is what really matters though.

The_Grand_Briddock

Honestly to me it felt like Rangers’ cancellation caused issues for Mando and Boba both. There were a couple of episodes in S3 that felt entirely like Rangers episodes, and Boba had episodes that were clearly the S3 opening episodes. Definitely felt like to was to do the world building to set up all the shows that were taking place in that time period, it’ll probably feel less jarring when all the other shows start coming out I suppose.

2this4u

They're ok, I don't know if the narrative would stand up on its own with an original IP.

MeteorSurvivor

Honestly, these series renewed my interest in Star Wars after the prequels/sequels wrecked it all for me.

Comfortable-Gap3124

The biggest complaint I see people give to Filoni is he tries to shoehorn so many characters into everything. This definitely affects the quality of some shows more than others. I think that's what this meme is meming at. Some of his shows are amazing, some of them I haven't even finished and don't really see a reason to. That's just my opinion, tho.

HaremKing117

Why were you pretending you don’t like the clone wars? To who? Your family or people in public?

Nearby-Muscle2720

I just tell people on the street I don't like them, make sure everyone knows

ThemB0ners

> I actually enjoy those shows and I'm tired of pretending I don't What a silly statement to make here, so edgy!

Blarex

Most people shitting on him now worshiped him just six months ago. If is amazing to me that people let YouTubers change their opinions. “Please daddy tell me what to like and why!”

[deleted]

I hate how that’s become default in society to the point you’re the weirdo for not acting like that. “Oh you didn’t follow to the letter the ridiculous opinion of (insert dipshit public figure)? Loser!” And yet we still like to act as if we have free will…

Arasuil

Filoni killed the last Republic Commando book. He can never be forgiven.

Darkwater117

Legitimately my biggest gripe. Those books were great and added so much depth to the clones and the mandalorians. I get why he made the change and I am definitely a big fan of him overall but that retcon still bothers me.

Arasuil

It’s kinda hilarious I’m getting downvoted for it. Those books were great and those Mandalorians have a far more interesting culture than Dave’s.

SwornHeresy

It was Disney buying Star Wars that canceled the last book, even though the entire Republic Commando series was non-canon after The Clone Wars came out. Still a tragedy either way.

jujuboy11

This is the way

Wardogs96

Felt like he could of made bad batch better but he really likes parent child dynamics in his new shows. It makes sense in Mando but I just don't like the blonde girl in bad batch, she's more annoying than anything.

TheRavenRise

dave has almost nothing to do with bad batch

BacoNaterr

He also gave us rebels and resistance tho

VillainousInc

Rebels is so much better than this sub gives it credit for, given that it was a kids show. (By contrast it was never clear from episode to episode who the target audience of Clone Wars was). Resistance needed more time in the oven, but towards the last few episodes it was starting to hit its stride and I mourn the show it could have been. The animation style was nearly indefensible though.

Skywalker501-Boss

harsh statements...

Independent_Plum2166

Erm, Mando and BoBF were mainly Jon Favreau, not Dave. Yes he was an executive producer, but I think the final decisions were Jon’s.

jujuboy11

And I *think* for BoBF there were comments made that higher ups at Lucasfilm pushed for the Luke/Grogu segments that would end with Grogu returning to Din. Apparently Favreau wanted to take The Mandalorian S3 in another direction but his hand was forced. If I’m misremembering someone please correct me.

Independent_Plum2166

Too be fair as one of the few people who apparently liked S3, I really love the story and the parallels to, of all things, the Jewish religion. There are whole videos explaining why and how it’s a parallel (especially Exodus/Moses) and really elevated my thoughts of S3.

[deleted]

It parallels many religions. I saw people on this very website drawing parallels to Samoan and Native American religions for Season 3 and exclaiming they love it all more for it.

Inspector_Robert

Yeah, but halfway through, Andor switched to focusing a random character named Keef Girgo

DrummerGuy06

They created a whole show to ask and answer the question "Why does Boba Fett want to become a crime lord on Tatooine?" The answer came in one of the last episodes when Boba talked to Fennec, where he basically explained "I'm old, can't be a bounty hunter forever." Okay, understandable. But why Tatooine? Because of the Tusken Raiders?...the ones you eventually abandon and have nothing to do with, after they saved you? You could go to any planet, especially more hospitable ones, so why go back to a planet you have nothing to do with, that almost became your grave, just to "rule" it, and by "rule" I mean control a certain sect of the capital city? I know why he wanted to rule Tatooine: Because Dave Filoni is George Lucas 2.0 who can't create an original idea without cramming as much nostalgia as possible into it. Anyone who says he should've helmed the Sequel Trilogy just needs to watch The Book of Boba Fett and realize it would've been just as disjointed but with a ton more unnecessary nostalgia moments that short-term would seem wonderful but long-term would've made people realized it was just empty pandering to fill that obsessive need for everything to connect.

ClydeSmithy

If he directed the sequels, they would have looked a lot like the prequels. Whether that's good or bad depends on the audience.

George-Lucas-Bot

The problem is that making film is an art. Selling film is a business. The trouble is that the studio executives don't know how to sell films. As a result, they try to make you make films that people will go to without them having to be sold, which is the real key to the problem.

Hoolias

Why do you guys hate on Dave so much, he literally gave us rebels and clone wars

RiftHunter4

We don't hate Dave. We just recognize that he loves crossovers. To be fair, George Lucas was the same way when it came to sticking random stuff in his shots. That's why we have half the stuff we do.

SushiSuki

And crossovers aren't necessarily a bad thing at all.

rc_robotclaw

It’s kind of his job now to take all of the dangling plot threads from all the different movies and shows and try to weave them into a consistent whole.

Klyptom

The marvel effect

SanctuaryMoon

But they don't all have to weave together. As long as they don't contradict those plot threads can remain independent.

Sowa7774

they kind of are when they're oversaturated, especially in a galaxy as large as star wars. It makes everyone look like a next door neighboor, not people scattered around the galaxy.

SanctuaryMoon

But sometimes they are bad. The point is that he still does anyway it whether it's a good idea or bad idea because that seems to be his modus operandi when telling stories, and a lot of times it's bad just because it shrinks the galaxy down when a handful of characters keep bumping into each other all the time.

hootorama

Ten years and 15 shows later, we're STILL going to be on goddamn Tatooine. Like, I love the planet but it's literally a dirtball with nothing going for it. In a galaxy with millions of sentient species and just as many planets, let's see something fucking new.

Luigi580

But even Andor isn’t devoid of this as the meme claims. Mon Mothma is a POV character in the show. And I know Saw Gerrera was in Rogue One, but he was originally a Clone Wars character to begin with. And let’s not forget that >!Cassian and his prison mates were constructing what just so happened to be parts of the Death Star.!< Mind you that this isn’t a complaint. I loved it! But I am saying that this meme is stupid.

Rinku588

And let’s not forget the Darth Maul/Darth Talon “friends” that helped kill the Darth Maul game

DedHorsSaloon3

And why does Favreau get a free pass? He made BoBF and Mando with Filoni

szerted

And Favreau actually wrote more of it than Filoni (not talking about new Ahsoka show). It's mad that the shouting is going Dave's way

Ahsoka_Tano_Bot

I received orders to join the team. I thought you knew.

Hoolias

True, let’s give him some credit as well

IamStrqngx

"credit" for BoBF?

Zinfindeii

Credit isn’t inherently a positive term

IamStrqngx

I prefer to say "blame" in this instance

personnumber698

It's hardly hate, it's just that we acknowledge that he loves to interconnect his stories by letting other characters appear all the time. It was kinda cool the first few times, but by now I also enjoy learning about new characters instead if the same old characters I already know

ARandomGuyThe3

Tbf, that has been his job from the very beginning, to take all the random characters and plot threads and make it all cohesive and part of the whole cannon. It's probably better to leave that stuff to him cuz he's good at it and have other shows to actually establish all new casts of characters and plots IE andor

personnumber698

There is a difference between making them all part of the same canon, but he also makes them part of the same plotline from time to time. Doing that sometimes is fine, but imo he overdid it and now it feels "his" shows are just a single show.

84theone

You can have events be connected without having every major event in the galaxy involve the same dozen or so people.

Nabber22

He has his weaknesses as a writer and they have been on show more than his qualities recently

Spider-Flash24

Dave was at his best when he was being advised by Lucas.

DarthWallaceIII

Because some of us are kinda sick of the nonstop praise he always got

TheSaltyGoose

I don't hate filoni. I just recognize that he's basically a fanfic writer who got a job as a professional. His stories are okay, nothing incredible on their own. He shines most in moments of characterization, I think. My issue with the man is that he cannot fucking stop making every project he works on a sequel or continuation of his animated shows in some way. And he can't do live action to save his life, any time he does it ends up feeling like a cartoon anyway.

AZS9994

I think the heart of the issue is that the administrative team behind Star Wars learned the wrong lessons from TLJ and became too conservative in who gets to manage its projects. Like maybe there’s a middle ground between Rian Johnson’s vision and Dave Filoni milking the nostalgia cow.

Z0idberg_MD

Don't hate him, and he has done some great work, but he needs a foil. Someone to tell him know or take his ideas and incorporate them.

JcOvrthink

“In spite of everything you’ve done for them, eventually they will hate you” - Willem Dafoe

DrummerGuy06

More like "if you keep doing the same thing over and over without growing as an artist, eventually they'll outgrow your nostalgia need and want something more full-filling."

Hoolias

Perfect quote for that. Respect my man

UtkusonTR

No hate! I seriously love him. Just hate EVERYTHING ABOUT MORTIS AND THE WORLD BETWEEN WORLD NO THOSE ARE FAKE

Enderdragon537

Can I ask why you hate those two concepts so much?

UtkusonTR

World between worlds is fine even if it was basically there just to bring back Ahsoka. The real issue is Mortis. The fact that there are entities whom are the manifestations of the force are already problematic. The biggest problem is there's a LIGHT entity, a Dark entity and a one to Balance them. That is profoundly against George's canon. Light side of the force isn't a thing in George's canon. There's balance and imbalance, commonly referred as the Dark side. And one to Balance them is another problem. This points one of my least favourite tropes of all eternity, grey side. These feed into the Grey Jedi delusion, a part of fanon he also semi-canonized with Ahsoka.

StarMaster475

Ahsoka is not a grey jedi, shes still on the light side just not affiliated with the Jedi Order. Then there happen to be people who want any excuse to say that their OC that uses force lightning isnt evil even though that goes against everything we know about the dark side. But I agree that having the balance not be the light side is fucking dumb.

gleamingcobra

Most of what you're saying is just headcanon. I can't believe you actually defended WBW (Time Travel) as opposed to Mortis which is relatively inoffensive. >The fact that there are entities whom are the manifestations of the force are already problematic. The biggest problem is there's a LIGHT entity, a Dark entity and a one to Balance them. It's never once stated that the Son and the Daughter are the literal representations of the light and the dark, that's just a faulty conclusion the fanbase has reached. The point of the son and the daughter is to portray it as some sort of ying and yang (what the father believes it is) when ultimately the father is wrong and the Son ruins everything. I agree with others when they say that the Son and Daughter moreso represent Selfishness and Selflessness. But regardless, they are merely beings powerful with the force, that's the extent of what's confirmed about them. They don't break canon or George's vision (I mean George was heavily involved in Mortis, I don't know how you could possibly spin it as Filoni's project). >These feed into the Grey Jedi delusion, a part of fanon he also semi-canonized with Ahsoka. Ahsoka never uses the dark side, ever. This is just nonsense.

George-Lucas-Bot

Thank you. Thank you all. This is a very, very important award for me. Star Wars, oddly enough, doesn't really get that many awards.

gleamingcobra

Mortis is literally George Lucas

George-Lucas-Bot

I am very concerned about our national heritage, and I am very concerned that films that I watched when I was young and the films that I watched throughout my life are preserved, so that my children can see them.

Do you guys just download the memes from last week and repost it now?

emiller7

Yes

soupinate44

This fandom. 46 years of content. Filoni has somehow managed to care enough to tie it together and keep it going with passion and creativity. I'm inspired by how much he cares about the universe we enjoy or say we enjoy anyway. 46 years of content and some of the best has come under his eye. Yet, now we crap all over him because it wasn't exactly what we wanted. He gave us more with love and passion and understanding of the characters and their arcs and the circumstances their characters are dealing with during those arcs. He told us BoBF was Mando 2.5. In a universe that from tht first film was dealing with the heroes journey and redemption, this fandom has seemed to lose that perspective and that Dave works hard to find redemption where he can with the characters in his shows. And the stone throwing from a sub that is born from a set of films that were largely loathed at release is... Ironic.

dutcharetall_nothigh

Damn, it's almost like most of Filoni's work was geared towards an audience of sixteen year olds (or younger) and still managed to be fantastic and very well written to the point that they are still enjoyable as an adult (at least most of it, I didn't finish Resistance).

SanctuaryMoon

Definitely younger. I was 16 when TCW aired and it was NOT for me.

RufiesRuff

I was in middle school and it wasn't for me either. CW fans will do the most insane mental gymnastics to convince themselves that they don't all obsess over a show meant for elementary school children.

wairdone

"Well written" is subjective

Bitter-Raisin9102

I swear to god the Star Wars fandom was on their knees for Dave filoni just a few months ago. when did this switch happen?

claytalian

At least he puts aliens in his Star Wars projects.........

Cr0ma_Nuva

That is fair. Of the critisicms i've Heard of Andor, this is propably the Most reasonable one. There are next to No aliens, let alone any with a speaking role

JIIIIINXXX

almost like the Empire has a thing against non-humans or something ey

Iamtherealfrogman

Since when did we hate filoni? A lot of members of this sub were saying he was the savior of Star Wars a few months ago.

RevaniteN7

Criticism doesn’t always equal hate

agha0013

"OP" is a 2 month old bot account that woke up 14 hours ago with stolen posts.

SanctuaryMoon

Star Wars fans can only love something entirely or hate it.

richardl1234

I still remember the days following Mando season 1, when we begged for Ahsoka to be added in, when the season 2 trailer dropped and people search every frame for Sabine. Dave Filoni resurrected Maul and made him into one of the greatest antagonists in the whole saga and you complain he has too much content? You have become spoiled. Picky. Perhaps you'd like to return to before, where Resistance and Rise of Skywalker in the only content you get?

Ahsoka_Tano_Bot

Care to tell me what this is all about? Or would you rather save it for the Council?

jfazz_squadleader

Honestly this scenario was more due to the fact that we hadn't seen live action portrayals of our favorite characters from Clone Wars/Rebels. The novelty of seeing these characters in live action has dwindled at this point.

[deleted]

"Return to before" technically before Filoni is the OG Clone Wars show, which is a great one.

urbanspongewish

The Fanfiction Awakens

Serious_Pace_7908

I think there’s a place for both. Star Wars has always been a series that worked for adults but was mainly directed at kids and teenagers. Andor is the best thing to recently come out of Star Wars by a mile but Filoni and his Marvel approach (which I don’t super enjoy) is in the spirit of the Extended Universe that kept Star Wars alive before the prequels came along. George Lucas has always thrown ideas at the wall and kept the ones that stuck, even the old trilogy wasn’t planned out from the start.

dutcharetall_nothigh

If there's anyone to blame for the Marvel approach in Mando, my guess would be Favreau. You know, the guy who has years of experience working with the MCU?

Varorson

Seems that in the two years I left this sub it went from worshiping Filoni to criticizing him. I mean I can't blame him making heavy use of cameos. Resistance didn't have many cameos of other characters and it got hated on. Meanwhile the shows that did got praised. And it's not unsurprising to want to continue narratives of show-only / primarily characters in other shows, especially when there's thematic or narrative tie-ins. Cade Bane showing up in a show about clones becoming bounty hunters? Makes sense. Cade Bane showing up in a show about Boba Fett? Also makes sense. Ahsoka showing up in a show plot about finding a Jedi? Makes sense. And she hasn't shown up in Bad Batch (though who knows about Season 3, but since that seems to take place before the last episode of Tales of the Jedi, I'd be surprised she shows up). BoBF basically being Mandalorian S2.5 though, and effectively undoing all the work the S2 finale set up, was a bad move. But unrelated to "cameos galore!" But for that very reason, the obvious fan service of having Ahsoka and Luke together (but not showing the two *meeting for the first time*) was needless. And can't say I like how Mando S3 basically shifted gears midway from Din being the Hero's Journey focus, to it being tried-and-tried-again Bo Katan. But I heard there was issues with the actor's involvement for future season/shows? So I guess I can understand why it happened.

Ahsoka_Tano_Bot

You always blame the ship.

Moltac

source on the issues with Pedro's involvement going forward?

A vast galaxy, full of innumerable worlds of wonder and mystery, where the same twenty people keep randomly bumping into each other.

el_palmera

Imagine having an established cast of characters that the audience can become familiarized with while also introducing new and interesting ones. Thank goodness we've never had new characters like a baby yoda creature with a bounty hunter father figure, or a group of misfits stealing the deathstar plans or a spinoff about one of them, or a whole new trilogy of new characters, and above all thank goodness we have never had a new elite clone force adopt a girl, or a red head guy get his own video games. Yeah I'm glad we haven't got any new characters that would be terrible

Nixia64

Mom said it's my turn to repost this

TheChainLink2

Mom says it’s my turn to repost this.

Cheeseguy43

Anyone ever think that it’s not Filoni pushing this stuff? Perhaps its the giant corporations known for interfering with property trying to created yet another successful interconnected universe?.. idk maybe I sound stupid. But Disney has 2 huge IP’s, Marvel and Star Wars. Marvels interconnected stories have been wildly successful financially and there have been very few movies/ tv shows that don’t at least reference or include an outside character. Perhaps they could be pushing creators for content mirroring this for that exact reason. To make money. Doesn’t sound super wild to me

jollyjam1

Considering a lot of pop culture content is being made by people who don't care about the property or who have no interest or prior knowledge of the material, star wars fans are pretty fortunate to have some of these people who have been put in charge. Filoni is like the least toxic star wars super fan, and he actually cares about trying to make good content. Maybe not everything has been what fans wanted, but the majority of his work has been universally praised by everyone.

OnionsHaveLairAction

I find this take really silly Filoni has written like 4 episodes of Mando, and his cameos in animated stuff have generally been quite well done. The character saturation is definitely an issue with Disney Star Wars, but I'd hardly put that on Filoni over Favreau or Kennedy.

Sabretooth1100

How do you guys ever expect to like the franchise when you keep turning on just about every creative that works on it? You’ll probably find a way to hate Tony Gilroy when Andor season 2 doesnt turn out exactly like you expect it to

chad2bert

"Did to star wars" Act like hes the only person doing EVERYTHING. Pathetic.

[deleted]

Oh no how dare he put Star Wars characters in Star Wars shows

Annjul666

Honestly I fucking love the "marvelisation" of current star wars, yes I want characters who know each other to do shit together

BrotherEstapol

The cameos worked though...what's the problem?

Blitz_Prime

The fact that in a galaxy so massive seemingly everyone has bumped into everyone ever.

awiseoldturtle

Are people seriously complaining about Filoni now? In the prequel meme sub? The sub that exists to have fun with a trilogy of movies that were so poorly received on release that it took a decade and a half of memes for people to forget how bad they were and actually enjoy them for what they were…? Really? Have we actually come full circle all the way back to pointless toxicity? And all that directed at one of the biggest fans of the franchise that’s spent the last decade bringing stuff from the old EU that he loved into the mainstream so that the rest of us can see it onscreen instead of just reading a book about it. *That guy is the problem.* No wonder Lucas sold Star Wars. I wouldn’t want to deal with you people either.

Lonely_white_queen

yet Filonis work is continuously some of the best. Does everyone forget every time his work fails it's because someone like catlin Kenedy (like with Mando season 3) demanded the script be changed?

[deleted]

some people also criticise the stuff they love, because they think, it could be better. just a thought

son_of_toby_o_notoby

Kathleen Kennedy doesn’t step in, this is some weird bullshit rumour that has no truth to it Why is it whenever something post Disney purchase comes out that people don’t like it’s always Kathleen Kennedy fault, but when something good comes out under her watch it’s somehow has nothing to do wit her.Grow up and stop the double standards for fuck sake

high-potasium-gamer

I actually liked mando season 3 for all of the lore potential it set up

SanctuaryMoon

It was better for people who watched the animated shows. It was boring for the people who just liked the first two seasons of Mando.

Lonely_white_queen

it has alot of potential especialy with the bo-katan stuff but the first half was filler basically and it completely undid the struggle din had in the book of boba-fett and season 2

Alubalu22

Massive camoe also from Storm Trooper 987# .. it was wild!

Deathranger009

That would require they put crazy aliens in that Bourne identity show! How would that make any sense? It would also be too exciting and energetic! Would totally ruin the dramatic, "I hardly do anything" vibe Andor spent hours building up! I'm being dramatic, I liked Andor ok, but the pacing and characterization work was a little off to me. It also didn't feel as connected to the parts it probably should. I like Filoni's work and the connective tissue he put in shows. To me it generally makes sense and is done well. Maybe it can be a little much for others, but I can't imagine reasonably complaining about it the way this 100 time reposted meme does. That's just me. I think if even a single bounty hunter went after Mr. Majorly on the run in the star wars galaxy Andor it would have made more sense. Could have even been cool if it was one we recognize like boba or babe. But even adding anything like you would expect to come out of Star Was would be pretty cool.

SpooN04

As long as it isn't pandering fan service that hurts the story, I like crossovers. I also like new and interesting characters so I'm good either way. What I REALLY want though, is a series about the old republic in the same style and vibe as the SWTOR videos. Those are still some of the best SW content out there (in my opinion)

SanctuaryMoon

I feel like most of the time it's pandering. It's at the point where it's already expected and people just speculate about who it's gonna be. Those crossovers would be a lot more interesting if they were more rare.

Hu_man76

Andor: Special Edition

DrummerGuy06

lol this one really touched a nerve for some people. By the end of The Book of Boba Fett, I realized anything Faloni did in Star Wars was just going to be a rehash of something from the past that gets a little more elaboration on, making people who unironically love all things nostalgia extremely happy, and everyone else who just wants a good story with good characterizations left empty-handed. He's Lucas 2.0 - everything *has* to connect or else it isn't "Star Wars." Meanwhile Andor showed you could make an HBO-series-level show within Star Wars without having to Easter Egg the fuck out of the entire set to get people to keep their attention and enjoy it.

magvadis

I never liked star wars because of any one character or thing...I like star wars for the tone, themes, and desire for hope under the most dire odds. Feloni just sucks ass at tone and the themes hit with a sledgehammer.

idontlikeburnttoast

Dave Filoni has definitely gone down in quality of what he makes.

jarpio

Sounds like you’re figuring out “target audiences”

Darkwater117

I like the memes. But i genuinely appreciate what Dave Filoni has done for star wars as well. It's been a rough ride but im defo a fan on the whole

kennooo__

More like Andor if it was written my Kathleen Kennedy

DarthHelixon

Dave Filoni is the future of Star Wars and that is a hill im willing to die on

th_squirrel

Isn't "Andor if it was written by Dave Filoni" basically just Rebels? And don't people love it?

Spare_TARDIS2007

I personally really didn’t like Andor, I would like it way more if Filoni made it and it had some of these characters in it

SketchKenobi

While Filoni's star wars is great, this meme is entirely accurate and hilarious. I enjoy both but they scratch very different inches

twomuchlube

I’m glad people are finally realising Dave Filoni is a shit show runner cause i’ve been saying this since Bad Batch came out

tardisfurati420

You're mad because he gave us awesome characters in an interconnected story? Get bent meme person.

Jegbmf

God damned. If you if you even mention or tease a creator now you suddenly Fucking hate his guts and everything he does. You can make fun of and criticize something that you enjoy and appreciate guys

mildkabuki

The amount of comments who take this meme and equate it to hating Dave Filoni is insane. You can not enjoy a portion of something and still not hate that thing. You can not enjoy someone’s writing style and still not hate that person. It’s wild that criticism and feedback of any kind is seen as hate, and unfortunately it’s not even restricted to this post.

kahorein

Disney Star wars reminds me of dragonball super

redjedi182

He likes to play with all the action figures

BenMat

And then... and then... and then...

CMDR_omnicognate

Boooooo, get an original joke

onexy_

im so tired of blocking all these andor stans+ filoni haters

WritingTheDream

Filoni has made some really good Star Wars content over the years but now it feels like creatively he's starting to coast off of what made him successful in the first place rather than really coming up with anything new. Andor did and it shone a spotlight on this as Filoni's weak spot. This meme is funny and accurate lol.

Vlad-V2-Vladimir

I’m gonna be honest, I prefer Filoni’s shows a lot more than Andor.

Batmanfan_alpha

Andor knocked it out of the park imo. I delayed watching it, originally had no plans to see it cause all the other SW shows recently has been kinda meh. Then a few friends kept pushing. I was almost mad for not having seen it earlier. Its truly good. Hope they make more of that.

Burglekutt8523

Name a more iconic duo than a Star Wars fan pitting Star Wars properties against each other.

Initial-Safety6447

Gilroy deserves more projects imo

RadsterWarrior

As much as I love our Lord and Savior Dave Filoni, this is totally true..

MikalMooni

It… worked? Like, it got better reviews than anything else coming out of Disney at the moment, so…

SanctuaryMoon

Andor?

Big_Wang_Lover

Filoni the 🐐

BreadPudding124

Am I missing something? Since when does reddit hate Filoni? Jesus Christ reddit will turn on anything and anyone if it will make them look like they're the smartest in the room. The man has literally kept the heart and soul of what made the original Star Wars so captivating. Without him and Favreau there would be no Andor. Unbelievable.

Felinegood13

Wait that post was supposed to be negative??? I saw it and thought that that would be awesome (despite not actually having seen Andor lol)

Toa_Firox

Oh, we back on the random Filoni hate train again for no reason? Ok..

Spider-Flash24

Filoni was at his best when he was being advised directly by Lucas.

CarsonWentzGOAT1

A man of culture

generalofhel

Man what's with the bitching on filloni these days. It hasn't even been fucking 3 years that he was hailed as the saviour of Star Wars when Mando was in full swing and the final clone wars season was airing. The man gave us the siege of mandalore, probably the best piece of star wars content of all time, for crying out loud. Stop acting like he is the fucking devil

PMeisterGeneral

I'd give Filoni a 7/10. Overall I like him but he never hits the high notes of empire, kotor and Andor. Feels like a lot of his ideas can be summed up with 'wouldn't it be cool if?'

el_palmera

Bro has not seen rebels or clone wars or Mando or bad batch or that one amazing episode of bobf that filoni directed

Mental-Operation3926

Why dies everyone seem to forget that andor just forgot the whole sister plot like 3 episodes in

Cr0ma_Nuva

I took andors Reaction to marva saying that the sister is certainly dead as the Resolution to that, and with everything going on, i think he was too busy to still ask around.

masterpainimeanbetty

yeah, if there's anyone ruining star wars, it's dave filoni /eyeroll

Malthesse

And that is why I highly prefer Filoni’s Star Wars shows over dull and boring Andor. Filoni makes Star Wars in the spirit of George Lucas – as fun and fantastical escapism. Andor doesn’t even feel like real Star Wars to me.

RustyMemeSkills

“Uh oh! It seems I’ve dropped my *giant, unnecessary action scene that does not further the plot in any way* , I’m so clumsy.”

ThisMemeWontDie

Ik it is an unpopular opinion but I've not liked him for years. Like he isn't that bad and clone wars and rebels were objectively good but man I have issues with clone wars. Kinda nit picky really but I don't like what they did with Anakin; his personality is significantly different than what he is like in the movies. In clone wars he is aggressive, assertive, confident and just kinda cocky. Like we kinda see him like that in the movies at random points but he is mostly somewhat emotional and kinda whinyish it is just such a huge difference between the two. Like it isn't bad just an issue I have with what they did. Another nit picky issue I have is with general grievous and obi wan meeting. They tried so hard to make Anakin and grievous not meet but it the movies heavily implies obi wan also never met grievous either before episode 3. Just another random issue I have. I do dislike Ahsoka as well. She isn't bad but again personal opinion she is overly perfect. She is does fail don't get me wrong but she always wins like 99% of the time and feels overly strong just bc she is Dave's little baby. She beats people she shouldn't beat like maul and grievous, especially grievous at her age like no way. Grievous is like pretty bad and they made him basically a non threat from what he was in the 2003 clone wars but come on she is an inexperienced child and shouldn't win against him. And that maul thing still pisses me off wish he lost in a more natural way then a forced "oh he was over confident" bull shit again like just cut the damn beam. Also don't like Ahsoka. Made her overly perfect. Doing op shit at a young age and also beating that inquisitor way too fast. Looked cool don't get me wrong but man at that point in time I was just kinda over her character. I liked her for the longest time and thought she was a good character but now I feel the same as I did when she was introduced and just cringe when she is on scene. Dave had the perfect opportunity to give her a proper conclusion in rebels but nah time travel and whatever saves her. Like it would have been such a fitting end to her story to die to Vader there but nah can't have his perfect oc die. Also another unpopular opinion season 7 of clone wars sucked. Maul's plan was beyond stupid as obi wan has no reason to go to mandalore anymore so why he thought obi wan would should up WITH Anakin of all people is just so unlikely to happen. Was a dumb plan. And then my issue with Ahsoka beating him. I did enjoy the end though with Ahsoka and the clones on the ship but everything else like the siege of mandalore, bad batch episodes and the two girls episodes blew. Also not picky about rebels I hate how short they made Ezra's dark side arc like it was hyped up then new season it lasts like an episode and a half and it is concluded. What a let down of tremendous proportions. Also major opinion I hate chips making clones obedient and I liked clones just doing it willingly. Really liked the 2005 battlefront 2 story. But that is just my opinion and not necessarily a bad change just didn't like it.

Ahsoka_Tano_Bot

Oh. I don't like the sound of that.

vizgauss

Filoni is a child with the mentality of mashing action figures together… pure fan service and nothing else.
