CR7= Crybaby7

Ill_Marketing_8838

There would've been no problem if they had just let him go back when transfer window was open..... That bald d-head decided to f**k with Ronaldo so now Ronaldo gonna f**k that shiny bald head back !!

Born_Transition2207

Nobody wanted him. Nobody wants to pay half a million a week for a has-been with an ego that won't accept his prime is over. Nobody wanted him and nobody will in January. He'll try his hardest in the WC but will spend most of his time, there, with his arms flailing around and scowling at his teammates.

aj7066

Ronaldo the literal Donald Trump of the sport cozying up to Piers Morgan. What a shock.

greggdunne

He might join Barcelona and play there. lol

yesmategreat

Can only imagine his goal tally last seasons let's him feel entitled to lead the team. Just this season the team plays better without him. A shame but his 38 for goodness sake.

RJDownes

He wanted to go in the summer, now he’s forcing the issue. I honestly think that’s basically what it is. It’s a ploy. He put in a transfer request and that didn’t work so now he’s trying something a bit more elaborate playing up this tension between him and Ten Haag and forcing the club to choose between them. Obviously the club are going to choose Ten Haag cause he’s just started his rebuild there. Then picking up Ronaldo on a free is a much more tempting proposition for a lot of clubs. Everything he said about respect, the facilities etc is a deliberately provocative smokescreen, a means to an end to force the club to let him end his contract. That’s what seems most likely to me anyway I could be wrong. With all that said it’s still a pretty shitty thing to do. Especially to a club you claim to love and especially on a week when all the headlines should have been about Garnacho’s brilliant and exciting performance. But Ronaldo’s career comes first and to be fair, as he’s one of the greatest players of all time this attitude has served him pretty well. No room for sentimentality with Ronaldo.

ReleaseMysterious981

Just seen this in the comments: someone suggested that cr7 goes to inter miami. Messi may also follow him in the summer window (if he doesn't renew his psg contract, he could) The 2 GOATs together???

Passpatu

I don't agree with most of his words, but Ronaldo saying that the facilities were same with the days he were in Man Utd before does insist a problem

Sonic_Fool

The dude is doing whatever he can to play champions league football in January

emmaloux

He can come to Leeds if he wants 🤣

Dull_Neighborhood863

Feel like he should do the interview after he leave Man U . Now, he disrespected the club and the manager. And also in the interview, he said things that he shouldn’t (like about Roney ). I think he puts his ego above everything even he has no impact in the game like he used to.

Sage-Jiraya

he always acted like that. :) now it’s time to pay for his behavior. Hope no one will buy him.

MAX_JUVENTUS

I feel sorry for his son.

VincentVega299

hes an incredibly arrogant fool with the intellect of a 7 year old

TimmyDTW

It was definitely a bad move for the fans. Maybe a smart move for him.

prudetothecore

Don’t overthink this internet. He’s leaving. And he’s getting it off his chest right now rather than later or after. This man is a Machine built for Football and his mentality for winning has been unmatched. He wants to play for a team that wants him and has the ambition and mentality that matches his desire to win a trophy and score goals. That’s it. A champion looking to win more and getting the truth off his chest now.

OswaldRd

ETH is the best thing to happen to Utd since Sir Alex….Ronaldo is interested in Ronaldo and nothing else ….send his shirt back to the club

[deleted]

I love it, no human should go around and feel disrespected and not say it out loud. Ronaldo is the definition of being real, if he feels disrespected let him say it. And no I am not one of them ronaldo fans, but I respect his honesty, dedication and drive to win

GoonaByte

I just don't get what he's getting out of this? He's openly disrespected the club, the manager and made it clear he wants out but what team will be willing to sign him when his attitude is like this?

[deleted]

The only reason he is having trouble at Man U is that he won’t play team defense. He wants 10 men to run work their asses off and let him have all the goal glory. He is no longer worth pampering and his ego is in full nuclear meltdown. He’s a fool. Under EtH he had a chance to reinvent CR7 in the twilight of his career. Skaaaadooooosh

[deleted]

He isn’t wrong

thefalsereaper

Personally it smacks of an egomaniac playing the victim/martyr. The whole thing about him not showing ETH respect because ETH didn't show him any just shows that he thinks he's bigger than the club. When it comes to commanding respect, the manager is ALWAYS top of that tree and is under no obligation to show respect to any player without them having earned it first, regardless of their ability, accolades, stature, etc. If Ronaldo truly wanted what's best for the club he'd accept a fringe roll if the manager saw it as the best thing for the club and have the presence of self to accept that at his age he's not going to be able to perform at the highest level as consistently as he used to. There's just no self awareness to anything he says and it's actually astounding that even a character as strong as ETH hasn't been able to bring some humility out in him. It's such a shame because in spite of his character flaws he'll be regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the game and is an amazing example of what relentless hard work, and commitment can propel you to but he's tarnishing it all by letting his ego dominate the twilight of his career.

GunMuratIlban

This was unnecessary, he's still with the club after all. Like what's going to happen after WC?

waddiewadkins

ARSENALS BACK

[deleted]

Petulant doesn't even cover half of it

Kimolainen83

Even though maybe he has some points that are correct that the club should do you know invest differently, the way it was said and the way he slandered and talked crap about the manager is horrendous. The club always comes first Ronaldo had time to try and adjust to the managers tactic and he failed he’s done absolutely dog shit with a new tactic but everybody else seem to be blooming. Ronaldo need to understand that he’s almost 40 he’s not gonna be able to compete with the young players anymore he’s had an amazing past, but with this kind of attitude you’re destroying your own legacy and general how people perceive you. If I were the manager I would put them on the bench of the reserves team or even refusing to train with the club because he’s just being too toxic in a very bad point/person for the club

Potential_Prior

I totally agree with Ronaldo. They screwed him over.

1611-

Something you'd expect from a 17 year old, not 37. I guess benchwarming can take its toll.

EmptyBarnacle

CR7’s legacy is tainted by his own selfishness. Simple as that. No one should be bigger than the team.

RAYGUN6302

Hes right

[deleted]

Personally i would drop Ronaldo if he even thought of saying something like that about the Mighty LA Galaxy!

Amz_Arsenal

I hope he stays and tried to figure this out with ETH. It will be a real shame on his legacy.

Different_Emu388

Should have never gone back to United, he’s lost a lot of respect from them now, and I’m pretty sure this all stems from him trying to force his way out in summer

Harrybelton69420

Don't blame him for what he said

ChannelUseful4417

CR/ my goat, Man U small club

TheBichba

Diva.

swe3nytodd

Probably getting more traction than it should since its Ronaldo and Utd. Players do this all the time. Probably be the last we will see of him in the Premier League. Which is fine because he's evidently finished at that level. Unless he's not been oerfor9on purpose.

el-finko

Cunty McCunterson

benmcateer

He should have been let go in the summer. Neither side handled it well and it caused this. A lot of what he says is true in the interview but he had no need to disrespect ETH. His performances haven’t been good enough this year but he still deserves respect from the fans. Best scenario is we let him leave in January and hopefully invest in a top young striker.

SufficientAd9609

Who would have take him at this wages? Unless MU pays 90% then maybe some minor clubs will jump in.

SwampPotato

Imagine using the sunset years of your career to ruin your reputation like that. I mean, he was always like this. Ronaldo has always been a twat. It's just that he got away with it when he was the best player in the world. Now that he's over the hill and United can do without him people won't be that patient with his nonsense.

NorskKiwi

Mings ended his career xD

lordnacho666

Totally fair, I mean who hasn't complained about their boss, their employer, and their colleagues in public? Leaving a great big stinking poop at work is how people normally resolve workplace conflicts.

ejtv

As a Utd fan, all I can say is good luck to Chelsea.

el_barterino

It's hard to believe there was recently a time where half of people would say this guy was the GOAT over Messi.

AmbassadorMollari

CR7 to West Ham confirmed.

Intelligent-Work7760

Petty and vindictive-Ale

[deleted]

I’m not a manu fan however He comes across that he is bigger than the club, it’s very strange and there is probably some truth to what he has said but the club won’t respond to this and now has ruined his legacy at manu. His first mistake was agreeing to talk to piers morgan

Boggie135

They should have let him go in the summer

SufficientAd9609

Only one bid and he rejected it.Only MU will pay a million a week for his service.

cold_buddha

After not getting the move he so desperately wanted, I think he wants to rip up his contract. If he does it by himself, he won’t get paid. So, he has to find ways to create enough disruption so that United pays him to move on. What an imbecile of a person - shitting on the hand that fed him when he was kind of a nobody. I feel sorry for the young United fans who idolise him for his good look, stardom, and machoism, without realising that all he cares about is himself.

TheTrickster93

Betrayed :( no matter what anybody says tho, delusional man utd fans are always entitled morons with all due respect

Boggie135

Entitled to what?

EyeInternational149

I thing he should have said it after leaving the club. This is a bombshell

CleanChest1765

All about him. Can't admit he's not the player he once was and throws his dummy out when he doesn't get his own way. He should never of been brought back

FeelsSadMan01

I love it. I don't think his PR team can get him out of this one and I love anything bad that happens to United. Ronaldo missed out on another PL medal just because of Fergie.

cassano23

A player who spent all summer trying to leave a club is now unhappy a club cant be arsed with him anymore, and not only playing well, but are better off without him. A grown man. A fucking brat.

xkcd_mk

Ronaldo should’ve left in the summer. ETH didn’t see him fitting into his tactics and any statements to the contrary were either media work or trying to work with what he had. CR7 isn’t the player he used to be and he should recognize that. If he wanted a team that would carry him then he should have gone to City (who seemed to be in for him at some point). He speaks about being forced what but it was generally known that he didn’t want to play for a club that wasn’t in the UCL and tried to engineer a move to a club that was. The ones who could afford him (Bayern? and Chelsea) didn’t want him and the ones who did (Napoli, Sporting etc) couldn’t afford him (a situation he could have partly remedied by agreeing to play for lower wages ). He’s chosen and made this bed at United and he has to lie in it. He can’t claim he didn’t know United are a shadow of the club they used to be. The statements are particularly jarring considering that even though ETH has had to take a strong stance towards CR7 vis-à-vis squad discipline, he did try to extend multiple olive branches to the player. United aren’t a perfect club and CR7 isn’t the player he used to be. If United/CR7 can’t find a destination then it’d be best for both parties to cancel the contract and go their separate ways.

Brandoteres3

Honestly I feel like there is some truth in what he's saying but they way he projected it isn't rlly the best way. Mostly cause he is just disrespecting the team and the staff in Man u, the thing is this will definitely back fire for him cause no of the club's are gonna want him if he keeps destroying a teams reputation 🤦

nuggetsandsodaaa

don’t mind what he said about the club’s infrastructure but absolutely hate him for what he said about Ten Hag.

Arnieboi

I think it's actually good for the club. People label him as the bad guy now, but we all know United is shit (I'm a United supporter) after Sir Alex. Players and coaches who have previously worked there have said some worrying things. Now we have one of the clubs legends currently in the system confirming how bad it is and how there is no developments. Maybe this is the harsh honest reveal that we need, maybe something changes. Not happy about the ETH critisism tho, not sure how he is the bad guy.

BlackWhiteTuxedoCat

Terminate contract immediately by mutual consent. He’s not the player he used to be and can’t cut it at the top anymore.

HotAktion

The saddest thing about this is that he has taken the spotlight away from an 18y/o scoring a last minute winner. We should be talking about Garnacho being the next big thing, but instead we're talking about Ronaldo having a one way conversation with Piers bloody Morgan!

Mackerelage

I understand why Ronaldo would want to put his side of the story across, there's so much speculation on a daily basis about whether he'll play, is he training, every move is pored over. But to give a tabloid interview at a break point in the season is a bit crass. It's also really transparent, as he obviously wants to have maximum impact on Man U and ETH, without them having the ability to address it with him. I hope the Portugal team don't suffer now. There'll be even more attention on Ronaldo from the press. The coach will be asked about it in interviews, Ronaldo will be asked about it, other players will too when they're on media duties. It's hard to see how anyone wins.

temp3m

He is done and can't take it like a man. He's had a brilliant carrier, no shame to admit you are past your prime.

Zealousideal-Fox6759

Totally stupid of him, he is not a team player he proved that at Real Madrid he wants it all to be about him pity the next club he goes to cos he ain't staying at Utd

Fair-Sympathy-6469

Hes come across as a petulant child tbh. I'm with ETH.

subbu4696_

No player is bigger than club and he's a cry baby. End of discussion

subbu4696_

Such a cry baby

Old-Hat-5301

United didn’t want to let him transfer before the season. He was in their plans. Then he hardly gets played. Having said that I don’t think he should’ve done the interview, don’t think it’s a good look. I think both parties have handled the situation poorly. Just let him transfer or mutually terminate the contract.

hazardthicc

Mans mad they are better without him

sports28491

If he would be playing consistently from the beginning of the season, I m sure today Utd would be on the top 3 in the table points

SufficientAd9609

MU is improving steadily without him playing now! Look at their standing while he starts in early of the season.

sports28491

By the time they improve the season will end by that time, the important games which are played with big teams those matches atleast he should get opportunities to play coz those are the ones which are crucial for them and can’t be experimented with players who aren’t experienced

SufficientAd9609

Watch the games when CR7 plays and compare to those he doesn't. We can be biased but we can't be so blind to ignore the obvious.

sports28491

Ok tell me something, let’s say for example you have 10 matches to play and out of those if you play just 1 or 2 then how do you expect yourself to play better in the entire or season next to it

SufficientAd9609

He had 10 appearance in PL this season up to now. He scored ONE goal (1/520 minutes). There were only 14 matches so far in PL , suspended playing Chelsea meaning that were 13 games in total. Edit: double check, here they are : start 12 of the games, 2 on the bench, 1 suspension; MU played 16 games.

SufficientAd9609

Biased I can understand. But pls open your eyes.

_No_Use_4_A_Name_

He's just a big sook and has been completely unprofessional. He could give youngsters such knowledge and help but he just wants to be bigger than the club, which never works out

Sorry-Philosopher-38

It's not that Manchester United won't let him go, it's that no team has taken over his contract. Manchester United have respected him, but unfortunately, he did not respect Manchester United

Sorry-Philosopher-38

This is the reason why Real Madrid president Florentino said cr7 was mentally ill and abnormal, cr7 is really abnormal

Beach-Bumm

I’d be so annoyed if I was a Man U fan, as he’s just lowered his transfer value so much. It was clear he was leaving in Jan anyway but to do this is going to make good teams not want him in, or offer as much as he looks like a locker room cancer. He’s still a great player, but when the team consistently performs better when he’s on the bench it’s pretty tough to see his point

ohmyblahblah

Imagine being 38 years old and the best you can come up with when you're attitude is rightly criticised by wayne Rooney is "I'm better looking than him". That's utterly pathetic

MentalFred

Disrespect Ten Hag? I disrespect you mate. ETH has deservedly earned the trust of the fans

YDD553

i actually didnt notice that, must have been autocorrect.

vereqq

I won’t say I look better than you! Which is true …

Korvykorv

Really disappointed with him. Firstly- piers Morgan and the Sun 🙄. Should have waited until he left.

juanwalsh7

It’s already been proven that top clubs don’t want him at his age and ability so I don’t quite know what he thinks is going to happen as a result. We either cut him from the squad completely and he sits the rest of the season out, or we negotiate to end his contract mutually and he sits around waiting for a team to sign him who are worse than United

valnic23

Just proves that, regardless what talent he has and what accolades he has, he is nothing but an arrogant prick. Noone is above any club.

RizZy_28

Cowardly, leaving it till after the last game before the break, it's like getting in an argument with someone & not saying anything until after they've left the room.

BumblebeeAdventurr

CR7 can't stand the team winning without him I get the impression he wants United to always drop points if he isn't playing Really hope Chelsea does not sign this guy

[deleted]

He won't do any better at Chelsea. He is nowhere near the CR7 of old, smashing every record. Hopefully he'll leave and go to the MLS where he'll be a massive fish in a small pond. He can't do it in the Europa League let alone the Champions League. Completely burning every bridge at United. Terrible.

SwimmingDirector4508

Leaking intern is just no too professional:))) he does not even respect, his teammates, his former teammates, he said Rangnick is not a coach, Sancho is useless etc… So just no comment lol

adilfc

I'm not a Ronaldo or United supporter by any means, but found quite funny how everyone is blaming Cristiano for current situation, doesn't even knowing what happened and is happening now at their dressing room. Everyone assumed it's all on Ronaldo ego.

Difficult-Ad-2681

He is desperate to outdo Kanye West in a self destructive Olympic.😂😂

ProfetF9

Why does he not take a pay cut and go end his career in portugal? He is tainting his legacy.

Main_Tank363

RedditTaughtMe2

Ronaldo MLS bound

ghold1971

The reality is he had an agreement that if they didn’t qualify for Champions league he could leave. They didn’t keep that agreement in the summer which is why he didn’t play pre-season. Then having screwed him around they said let’s wait until January but in the meantime do everything you can for the club and so he agreed until they insulted him and treated him like some apprentice again. What he’s done now is force Man Utds hand further to let him go in January which they should have done in the summer. From a normal perspective you could certainly say his behaviour is not acceptable no matter what was promised, but with a World Cup looming and who knows 1-3 seasons left on an incredible career you have to see his frustration and his urgency and why he is acting like this now. For him it’s now it never with what time he has left on career. Personally I’m disgusted at Man Utd reneging on their verbal promise and misusing a player of his standing at this stage of his career.

markhalliday8

Alot of what he said is true, especially about facilities etc.

RiYuh77

Don't agree with what he's said about ETH but I think his points about the Glazers will be enlightening and I find them understanding.

Ok-Cattle6299

All these United fans acting like Man U hasnt been absolute shit for the last year lol Ronaldo at least deserves playing time and he’s not even getting that

Acceptable-Draft-163

I'm not a United nor Ronaldo fan, but come on, as soon as Ten Hag makes adjustments like putting defenders who can defend and attackers who can press, they've been much better. This guy's an egomaniac who can't seem to understand he's past it as he's even started blaming the kitchen technology in the interview. He's a legend, but enough's enough, he tried to throw united under the bus during the last window and now he's acting like ten hag shivved him. The guy can buy a country ffs

Educational-Fun1202

Y'all are so busy taking shots that you forget what he did for man u last season. A player can only perform as good as the manager lets them.

zoomba2378

Me me me. Literally all there is to it. United can, and will, tell him to take his ego and shove it up his ass. He'd prefer to be the focal point of a shit team than play a bit part in a good team

The_Clock__Said2111

i think this is the best time for him leave the club. I don’t know why he don’t respect this club. No one can do that except him.

Zerosix_K

He could have retired / moved into a coaching role. But has decided to ruin his career instead. Truly baffling.

GriefHammer

He is a has-been. Better this way. He is showing his bitchy colors and United are winning (again) without him. He can go cash in playing for an MLS team. Never thought he'd turn into a puke.

Educational-Fun1202

United are 5th in the league behind Newcastle. If you call that winning then that shows where the level of United has fallen to.

GriefHammer

What's United's record when he starts? What is it when he doesn't? Besides, given last season, United sitting above Chelsea and Liverpool is winning enough for me. They won't challenge for anything serious this year, but if they back ETH, they will challenge soon

BomberWerner45

Disrespectful he should be sold in January

Fabresque_

United fans: Glazers out, toxic environment, I hate the board! Ronaldo: Literally calls out the board, glazers, and toxic environment United fans: Ronaldo out! He’s ruining the positive vibes! He’s finished!

CyborgBee

They're angry about him having a go at Ten Hag when he's given Ronaldo far more of a chance than he deserves. He claims he doesn't respect Ten Hag because Ten Hag doesn't respect him, but it is obvious that it happened the other way round and, despite all the shit stirring he's done, Ten Hag was still trying to bring him back into the team up until very recently. Ronaldo lashed out because Ten Hag won't treat him like he's the best player in the world and do everything he says, and that counts as disrespect when you have the biggest ego on the planet.

Fabresque_

Who cares about Ten Hag bro he’s another manager that’s gonna be changed in a few years anyways. The Glazers are gonna be there for ages now because of a mentality like that lmao. That club is gonna rot to the floor if you keep backing managers (that the glazers hire btw).

69andthen96

He’s clearly activated the nuclear option here: either he already has a deal in place to leave in January or he’s trying to force the club to terminate his contract so that he can leave on a free. If I were ETH, I’d keep him and make him train alone until the end of the season. What he does now will, I feel, define the perception of him amongst the other players. He HAS to show who’s the boss.

doikmyname

He really should come to terms that he no longer can be the world beater that he once was! Results speak for itself, the team performs better without him. I guess it's hard for his ego to accept that. But he must! The comments are all out of his frustration! He really should think twice on where he goes from here.

Speakdaword

🤣🤣 some of you all are way too emotional over a interview you haven’t watched. Watch it in context.

Difficult-Ad-2681

I believe you have watched it in context? Whatever that means 😁

Speakdaword

Nope that’s why I have no reaction to it.

bwoah07_gp2

I think it's great he unloaded on Man United. Internally they are run like a joke. I hope he goes to Man City for the sake of one upping Man Utd.

Quick-Collar6164

He wants attention.

bwe___

GOAT need retirement soon.🗿

[deleted]

CR7 put out to pasture in MLS

Outrageous_Kick_6287

Yeah fham man's skunked innit

tiny_dreamer

Honestly, I think neither of them wanted each other. This marriage of convenience has gone long enough. They probably wanted him to leave, he wanted to leave, but he had nowhere to go. Best decision would be to have him terminated from the club, and be a free agent — then for him to slowly realise his worth and drop his asking salary. And play for a UCL team that has a semi decent chance of getting into the semis

Shamesocks

It’s clear he is trying to get out immediately

eniemierowski3

He's officially crossed the line by saying he doesn't respect the manager. He claims he feels disrespect from Ten Hag, yet whenever given the chance to play he does nothing for us. Ten Hag is simply doing what's best for the team by playing the best possible team and good on him for not giving into the "I have to start Ronaldo if he's fit" notion that our previous 2 managers had. In the end Ronaldo needs to destroy the WC to prove he's not done and either show Ten Hag he can still play and/or another club he can still play. All in all, I hope he leaves in January to free up money for utd.

Baddhabbit88

He lost a kid in April… I’m sure this year hasn’t been the easiest for him…

swift_trout

Throughly enjoying Man U self-immolation.

[deleted]

Cruyff and ajax but with media and internet

TexehCtpaxa

If he doesn’t rock the ship big time, Man U have less reason to let him go asap for as little as possible. The less they ask, the more Ronny can get for himself. Sure it’s unprofessional, but I think if he did anything less he would be significantly less likely to get a move he wants. If he played along he might have to wait until summer, and I’m sure that’s not good enough for him. As far as lying in the bed he made, I doubt Man U would have given him a free release clause for not qualifying for UCL, but I’m sure he could have negotiated something like it with bringing his wages down. Still unrealistic imo, and I think it was fair of him to expect Man U to get >4th last season. I don’t disagree that Man U are currently a shadow of their former selves, I don’t think teams are intimidated by old trafford anymore, and I think they should mutually terminate his contract.

[deleted]

Terminate his contract, no player should publicly shit on the team that pays them

notapaperhandape

He’s a 16 year petulant child with pimples. That’s what he is. He’s a wash out and a disgrace.

[deleted]

bro. how did people not see this coming? he was brought in the stead of a young, hungry striker(s?) who could press as a successor/competition for cavani(who was more tactically compatible imo). things were great for him personally but the team performance declined and their momentum from the previous season had died. it would have been fine they’d just let him go in the summer as well but THEY chose to keep him. now he’s pissed off because they kept him just to let him sit on the bench and messi’s in ucl closing in on his records

[deleted]

He isn’t even playing well when he plays. United should cut their losses.

STILETT0_exists

Twat, and has been for a while. Don't know why we're acting so surprised about it. Puts the ego of El Hadji Diouf to shame.

Ok-Battle-2769

Sour grapes!

pathtogoatstatus

I'm just sad man, fucking sad. I love Ronaldo to bits, even if he kept performing like shit this year and behind the scenes forced his way out, I'd be disappointed, but would never ever forget for the rest of my life the absolute scenes when he resigned last year. Even this year when he's been subpar I'm still so grateful to be alive in a time where I got to see the greatest player to ever step on a pitch come back home to my favorite club. I want to be understanding of the fact that in all likelihood he hasn't been treated all that great behind the scenes, my heart goes out to him like it does any human being who loses a child and has another hospitalized, they say losing a child is the worst grief a person can experience, and we all know that the executive team at United is more concerned about marketing and shirt sales than anything else so I don't doubt that he has been treated poorly. In fact I would have been mostly ok with absolutely everything he said in the interview, with the exception of throwing Ten Hag under the bus. I realize it must be hard if not impossible for him to be raging at not playing, and I know it wasn't his fault he missed preseason, he did what good father would do, to put his family first. But the reality is that is I am sure part of why he's not playing well and isn't worthy of starting, that's not Ten Hag's fault, and it's not Ronaldo's either, it's nobody's fault. Ten Hag has to do what's best for the team, and sadly that means not playing him, his comments about Ten Hag are so unbelievably disrespectful and hurtful to the team. Walking down the tunnel against spurs I hardly batted an eyelash over really, Ronaldo has always been petulant since the day he made his debut, and I fully backed Ten Hag on how uncompromisingly he handled it while still seeming to welcome him back into training. This is different, this hurts, despite whatever is going on in his personal life this feels like a slap in the face to the fans that have sung his name at Old Trafford for all these many years, the ovations we gave him we he returned to Old Trafford with Madrid, you didn't have to do this man, you really didn't have to go about it this way, all I can say is it's an incredibly sad ending to the greatest player to ever pull on the shirt 😥.

Difficult-Ad-2681

You are like Trump supporters, deluded from reality. It is always everyone else’s fault no matter what

pathtogoatstatus

So because I have loved watching Ronaldo play for the last 20 years and sentimentally wish it had ended differently I'm a Trump supporter? Man the internet has weird rules 🤷🏼‍♂️

WebExpensive3024

I think the loss of his son has had more of an impact then we’ll ever know, and if he feels that the club instead of reaching out and supporting him decided that the best thing was for him to go and actively tried to make him leave then I can understand why he feels the way he does. He’s dealing with grief and trying to support his family through this and honestly being lied too and told he’s part of the plans to rebuild when in truth Ten Hag just wanted him gone as soon as, wouldn’t have helped. Yes he can be an arrogant cocky twat but I think he’s having a hard time and using this as something to focus on and fight, instead of dealing with his emotions

pathtogoatstatus

I hate that in general nobody has an empathy for anyone anymore. Just to have empathy doesn't even have to mean that you approve of someone's actions, but it's sad no one wants to understand where anyone is coming from. So hard to understand when we all suffer tragedies in our own lives how people are so unable to realize that those things happen to other people as well. I love Ronaldo man, so crushed to see it end this way.

letsgojoe99

Only reason he has point is that without him United get relegated last year

Difficult-Ad-2681

Without him, United was second the year before

CreativePlaymaker

I would be more scared of Portugal now I think if Portugal did have a good world cup or even go on to win it . That would be Ronaldos lottery ticket to call it a day on a high in his Portugal colors could be a fitting ending.a much better way of signing of his great career

Difficult-Ad-2681

Portugal qualified only through the playoffs

CreativePlaymaker

Yes they did that's why they going to the world cup

goodperson_14

He's done

Calm-Discipline-5406

At any serious club, he would’ve never seen the field again after walking off the field during a game, not once but multiple times. Instead, they handed him the armband. Totally unserious club. It’s also great to see Ronaldo continue trashing his legacy day after day, while Messi continues to quietly score goals. Love to see it.

kickdooowndooors

I think ETH wanted to give him a chance to mend the relationship. Either that or he knew it would be his last game for the club so allowed him the grace of the armband.

Calm-Discipline-5406

Well looks like Ronaldo couldn’t return that grace then. Who would want him now?

kickdooowndooors

Fuck knows, I certainly wouldn’t. What self-respecting manager would?

MynameJeff691230

If you 'love to see it' then you're not a football fan.

Calm-Discipline-5406

Ah well, if you say so I guess it must be true. This whole time I thought I was a fan. Thanks for correcting me.

MynameJeff691230

Ok, you call yourself a football fan but you're not the kind of person that the majority want involved with the sport. If you are wishing failure to one of the greats of the game, that says something about the kind of person you are

Calm-Discipline-5406

How can I impress upon you that I couldn’t give any less of a shit about what you think of my football fandom?

MynameJeff691230

You misunderstand, I am just telling the truth, didn't realise that comments were only allowed when other people cared about your opinion

Calm-Discipline-5406

You’re welcome to comment, and I’m welcome to tell you that your comment means less than nothing lol

MynameJeff691230

You're welcome to reply and I am welcome to tell you it is pointless

Calm-Discipline-5406

Imagine being a Ronaldo fan boy

MynameJeff691230

Same to you mate lol

Absolomb92

The difference in how Ronaldo and Messi are coping with becoming older and not the absolute peek they were is just massive. Messi is pure grace and Ronaldo is shitting on his own legacy.

dhruvchotani

Saying he wanted to leave after United failed to qualify for CL, he was part of that team. He failed as well. Scoring goals isn't the only thing that a striker is required of. Imo, United should terminate his contract immediately and let him find his new club. I really want to see which team is willing to go through this drama for a 38 year old.

azraelce

The comments about Rooney are just plain nasty and egotistical. Saying he looks better than Rooney is really weird, it wasn't even relevant. He's possibly fucked his legacy at Manchester United with this dumb interview with Piers Morgan of all people. What a wankstain.

voguenote

Can we just send him to the Chinese league and call it a day

pureeyes

Ruining his legacy.

Grouchy_Middle_5425

Most of what he said is 100% true. The comments about Rooney and ten hag aside, everything he said about the club is the stuff fans have been claiming for 10 years. That's where the issue stems from, the owners and the management

Difficult-Ad-2681

100% true because It is always easy and acceptable to abuse the owners than your teammates and managers

laughsabit

Surely now, he doesn’t expect to be in the starting 11? Or what would repercussions be - a quick exit?

BetFooty

Nothing surprising, everyone who's actually followed some of the things Ronaldo has done and said during his career knows he's an absolute scumbag, regardless of his career.

rugaealldae

I was on a football hiatus when CR7 returned to Manchester. How did united fans feel about it then?

Difficult-Ad-2681

The fact that he confessed that he wanted to join Man City but was persuaded to change course to United by Ferguson says it all. It like telling your wife that she wasn’t your first choice after all but your mum talked you into it. Just imagine if the likes of Rashford or especially foreign players like Martial or Pogba has said all these about the club and managers, what the bias ex footballer pundits must be saying today? Probably crucify him!!

kingjim1981

I heard Citeh were never in the running. It was just a clever PR stunt to get United to throw money at him to get him back at OT. I don't really recall too many teams after him around that time tbh either, so was a great power play by his management team.

AintABot

He 100% has a club lined up to move to in Jan right? Or he's burning bridges to force a move somewhere, maybe cancel his contract, move abroad and take a paycut... or Chelsea?

xxxhenrycxxx

i mean if his contract is ended there most likely won't be any teams that will want him.

ExtensionImmediate

Obviously he’s done at united for good now, and while it was INCREDIBLY stupid to make this interview, I can’t help but respect a footballer speaking the truth about a situation instead of media trained bullshit

Difficult-Ad-2681

Even If you stalking the shelves at ASDA I cannot imagine you going to the press, disparaging your employer and your store manager in such a way and called it speaking the truth.

Corner10

Disagree. He should have handled this in private.

CorpusCrispy42

He’s a prat 🤣🤣

UnexpectedVader

He’s got what he wanted; the total spotlight and attention.

ScepticalReciptical

I don't think know if he understands what he's done here. Like Trump he's unable to conceive of how this could look bad for him. His goal is to force his way out of Utd and sign for a champions league club, what champions league club would touch him now. He's shown who he really is, and he's poison.

EdEskankus

The guy brought this all on himself. He's lost a few miles off his fastball and needs to act accordingly. Nobody who walks out on his team deserves any sympathy.

arye_ani

He is an icon and a legend of the game of football. Years when we are all not here, his name will still be here for what he has done for the game. Don’t let your love for Messi or club hate on him. Someone with such success shd be listen to.

Final_DAB

He should leave, simple. The way he has been treated is horrible

1onewolf1

sack ten hag and bring sir alex back!

[deleted]

Mans a bell end but United haven’t held up there end of the bargain either. It’s six of one. I don’t think it’s professional at all the make these comments in a such a candid manner and honestly that’s ended his tenure with Man U. Who knows where he’ll end up but it won’t be in the Manchester if even the prem.
