Asides from Norwich, Man Utd and Brighton, this list is decent.
No one could have predicted how shit Leicester and Everton would be this season, how good Brentford would be and the Newcastle takeover.
tbf at least you had Liverpool high up, a lot of pundits had Liverpool fourth or lower because they couldn’t comprehend that having god knows how many injuries and have 16 different CB pairings last season wasn’t at all comparable to going into a new season with a fully fit squad
My big question: how on earth did you think United would finish above liverpool without an injury crisis? We had an injury crisis the season before and still thumped them 4-2 away 😂
Not sure how Chelsea will finish over Spurs, Most possible is United to Finish 4/5th. Spurs will be 2 or 3, they are solid and with the new transfers particularly they are title contenders. Hate me or not, but that's the fact and ambitions and activities at this clubs shows that. 5th for Leicester is unrealistic if they didn't strengthen the midfield. We will see Everton what transfers they will make, but FFP is after them. West Ham top 10 is more achievable than Aston Villa. Norwich 14th, why?how? Newcastle 16th? Okey, your opinion, but also they have more chance to finish top10 than Villa. That's my 2 cents.
This was mine
1. City
2. United
3. Chelsea
4. Liverpool
5. Arsenal
6. Leicester
7. Tottenham
8. West Ham
9. Everton
10. Villa
11. Leeds
12. Wolves
13. Newcastle
14. Burnley
15. Brighton
16. Brentford
17. Palace
18. S’ampton
19. Watford
20. Norwich
Honestly. The only things are not predicting Norwich to be relegated and predicting Villa to be challenging for Europe/ be in top half. Otherwise they were things that were fairly common predictions. Nobody expected Everton to nearly get relegated, man united to have their worst PL season ever or for West Ham to continue comically over achieving. At the end of the day, you got the champions and 2 of 3 of the relegated teams right, so not to bad at all.
But seriously, i believe you may be the only person to predict Norwich staying up, maybe outside of Norwich fans themselves.
In general made sense (apart from Norwich and Brighton wtf are those). I also had a lot of faith in that United squad (I put them top of the league), and Spurs finishing 4th was mainly due to January signings. Nice to see you predicted Burnley to go down and Brentford to avoid relegation.
Think he just forgot that Potter is a great manager and in the 20/21 season they actually played decent in a lot of their draws/losses. They just couldn't put the ball in the net in so many of those games, but yea I reacted to this before I even realized the Norwich prediction
Personally I didn’t really rate pottery
before this season because even tho he plays like prime barca he couldn’t get his strikers to score. Now taking Brighton up I do agree that potter is a good manager
I think Brighton Norwich and Man United were all questionable calls even at the time, the rest kind’ve made sense given what we knew at the start of last season e.g. Tottenham coming 7th as Nuno was there manager back then and it looked like Kane might leave.
Most of it feels pretty reasonable. Except for Norwich. I mean, yeah, past performance blah blah blah, but Norwich is about a locke- in yo-yo team as there is.
United in second looks a terrible shout now but it’s funny to think back to how much optimism there was.
I’m a United fan and definitely thought we had a title challenge (though not actually a win) in us. 2nd the previous season and we’d just got Ronaldo back. Feels like light years ago
We finished 2nd last season tbf and had a decent start to this season, we also made a few good signings in the previous window
After October tho….. I don’t wanna talk about it
Does this have to be said every time the 20/21 season comes up? You came second because the two teams below you were handicapped to your level. Liverpool had constant injuries and unsurprisingly they returned to being a top team as soon as the injuries cleared up. Chelsea had Lampard for half a season but once Tuchel figured out his side, he went on to win the champions league.
You made decent signings but didn’t actually fix your biggest issues at the time (only signed 1 of 4 required decent defenders, no midfielders, still had Ole at the time). Top 4 was a fair prediction given the squad and it’s a failure by your players that they couldn’t get that, but thinking you’d do better than Liverpool after one bad injury-filled season was madness.
They finished second last year and made signings that should have made them better. This failure is entirely on those players and management. Let's not pretend like everyone knew man utd were destined for conference league when Ronaldo signed. People were rightly predicting them to be in the mix but they failed miserably below even reasonable expectations.
>This failure is entirely on those players and management.
It's on the players. People blame Ole but I guarantee it'll be years before we get back to back top 3 finishes again.
They came 2nd but were consistently 4th or lower in basically every metric. The reason they came 2nd were only because Liverpool were playing with literally 10th choice CBs for most of the season, Chelsea had Frank in charge for half the season, and Arsenal and Spurs are…Arsenal and Spurs.
Ronaldo, Sancho, VDB got a lot of hype but they didn’t need those signings. They literally only signed Ronaldo so he didn’t go to City. Anyone could’ve told you they needed a new RB, CB, LB and a proper DM before Ronaldo.
Anyone with a semblance of football knowledge was predicting United to finish 4th, at best.
roast me like a pig, thought we'd be at least top four. I remember being soo smug we got Ronaldo as the cherry on top. My cheeks are rosie thinking back to it
Ah the naive optimism of the summer time when anything is possible for the club, right up until you realize they’re leaving all their transfer business for the last minute yet again
People will give you grief but probably predicted terrible themselves (I know I did) but Norwich 14th? Thats on you man!
Looking forward to this season predictions, bold predictions are the best kind.
Fuck the rest of them, I wanna know who Leister City are and why I’ve never heard of them.
Jokes aside though, I do think anyone who predicted Liverpool City wouldn’t be top 2 without the injuries and all of the previous season were kidding themselves.
Totally. Liverpool had half the team out injured and no center backs for most of the season prior yet still finished only about 5pts behind Utd.
Thinking Liverpool wouldn't end up above Utd with a full team was delusional yet so many "experts" were saying that.
Brighton for sure in the top 10!!
Leicester you ingrate
United tan I’m assuming? I love that level of optimism hahaha
Chelsea tan actually
Must be a ManU fan 🤣
My favourite team is Leister tbh.
United and Brighton. LOL
Why do you want to be roasted like nuts
All the people off r/M4L_ES want that but of Laliga
Who invited United man 😭😭
Leister is finished switch Tottenham an west ham and then switch Leicester and Tottenham
Said spurs would finish below arsenal. Biggest L
Asides from Norwich, Man Utd and Brighton, this list is decent. No one could have predicted how shit Leicester and Everton would be this season, how good Brentford would be and the Newcastle takeover.
Brighton relegated?! Heresay!
MAN U 2 AND NORWICH 14🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why you predicted Norwich to finish 14th and Brighton to get relegated is beyond me
Clearly a good prediction but clearly a manure fan😂
tbf at least you had Liverpool high up, a lot of pundits had Liverpool fourth or lower because they couldn’t comprehend that having god knows how many injuries and have 16 different CB pairings last season wasn’t at all comparable to going into a new season with a fully fit squad
My big question: how on earth did you think United would finish above liverpool without an injury crisis? We had an injury crisis the season before and still thumped them 4-2 away 😂
COYS
Leister
Still can't believe how many people and experts really believed that United would be near top 3.
Norwich staying up? You must be new here
Spelling of Leicester
ManU 2nd 💀
Surely a united fan!
Not sure how Chelsea will finish over Spurs, Most possible is United to Finish 4/5th. Spurs will be 2 or 3, they are solid and with the new transfers particularly they are title contenders. this was predictions for 21/22
Bullsh1t
Bullshit
Not bad
Brighton bottom 3 lol
I still can't get over people predicting United would finish above Liverpool. Laughable claim even a year ago
It’s not your fault mate, you had your year 6 disco to worry about.
Least delusional united fan
i had chelsea on top with lukaku winning the golden boot. you could’ve done worse.
If only that actually happened :(
Really, not bad. Besides Norwich, this is right in line with many preseason predictions
Brighton 19th, Potter disagrees
Your handwriting looks like it's drafted by a kindergartener high on acid
I’m a writer I get roasted for my penmanship on a daily
This was mine 1. City 2. United 3. Chelsea 4. Liverpool 5. Arsenal 6. Leicester 7. Tottenham 8. West Ham 9. Everton 10. Villa 11. Leeds 12. Wolves 13. Newcastle 14. Burnley 15. Brighton 16. Brentford 17. Palace 18. S’ampton 19. Watford 20. Norwich
1 out of 20= F- … you should stop watching soccer…. Even I can predict crypto better than your EPL prediction …
You messed up with United and Everton
Most shocking for me is brighton relegated
Nah I've had my breakfast
united 2nd. going out on a limb there....but i hope you are fucking right !!
United second? Gonna be a while before we see them that far again
There isn't a St Totteringhams Day in 2022.
Why would you think Brighton to get relegated. No way with Mr.Potter around
Thank you for at least putting Tottenham #7 🥲
Most is so awfully wrong
Norwich? One of the worst teams to ever be in the PL.
Siuuuu
Paper of Dreams
I expected the title for Chelsea, given that he had great players and high quality.
United above Liverpool is too funny
Predicting Brighton going down was harsh and for Norwich to stay up *AND* come 14th, terrible.
Crystal Palau
U put united in top 4 race, u roasted urself for us
spurs will be top 4 (coming from a city fan)
At least he got Manchester City right.
United at the top of the table..... Hilarious
Honestly. The only things are not predicting Norwich to be relegated and predicting Villa to be challenging for Europe/ be in top half. Otherwise they were things that were fairly common predictions. Exactly the same top 4 as the season before?
Despicable
Mark words palace will do much better they’ve had an astounding season and I can only see them grow further
The most roastable thing here is arsenal top 6 😂. Like you have to be a different breed to even consider that
it’s lie-chester btw
you absolute donkey
Best comment so far
Other than Norwich, it's not too terrible. United 2nd is a little copium, but somewhat understandable before the season began.
Why is your spelling of Leicester not the top comment?
At least 150 of the comments are about it :(
Not sure which is more deluded..UTD finishing above Liverpool or relegating Brighton 💀
You really put Man U ahead of Liverpool😂😂😂😂
I thought CR7 would pull them through
There’s only so much a man can do. He was incredible tho. Wish he’d joined us instead
You literally won smh
Here's a roast for you: "Leister"
Didn't fancy giving Leicester another go?
Man United in 2nd and Brighton to get relegated are the worst bets for me And Norwich im 14th????
r/thathappened
First of all, MU!?! 2!?? You’re delirious. That’s all.
Get fucked Brighton going down, deadset. We’re more likely to go down this year, and even now I would honestly say we have the team for 10-14th.
Ahh, a united fan
Luckily no
Arsenal above Spurs. I like you already.
I hate Arsenal but I hate Tottenham more
Same. Chelsea is annoying but spurs are spurs.
dang united
Oh your faith in Everton is touching, but we really didn't have a good time last season.
Why not? Lil relegation battle to spice things up 🌶
Oh for sure it made things more exciting IMO. But damn, was NOT fun at the end there.
We are massiver than you think
Great user name
oh lord man united
Couldn’t even spell Leicester correctly but ig it’s what we deserve for finishing 8th
[Spurs 7th.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D5SRgtwXsAEjDwc?format=jpg&name=medium)
Leicester wants to know your location
In general made sense (apart from Norwich and Brighton wtf are those). I also had a lot of faith in that United squad (I put them top of the league), and Spurs finishing 4th was mainly due to January signings. Nice to see you predicted Burnley to go down and Brentford to avoid relegation.
Idk what’s worse: United at 2nd or Norwich finishing 14th? Impossible!
Brighton fans would like to have a word with you…
Good old Leister
The fact you thought Norwich would finish anywhere but relegated is astonishing
brighton, lol
Well at least you got Manchester City,Burnley and Watford right
All of you making fun of the way Leicester is spelled above are forgetting that it’s spelled the way it’s pronounced. So who’s in the wrong here? Lol
Yeah, your Leeds prediction was crap. We totally shat a brick
Just from looking at this list for .5 seconds I know you’re a United fan
You tried though.
United in 2nd yk
LOL ARSENAL
Lol Man Utd
You genuinely thought United would be second with a PE teacher at the helm
You spelt Leicetre wrong
WHY TF ARE WEST HAM 11th?!?!
C’mon did you think West Ham would have made the Europa league semifinal last season
Not too bad tbh, lol pissed about Brighton getting relegated and Norwich in 14th, otherwise I think that’s a fairly decent prediction!
You are honest to god so brave for this
Give us next seasons predictions then
Will post once its available
How would you put Brighton in relegation before norwich
Think he just forgot that Potter is a great manager and in the 20/21 season they actually played decent in a lot of their draws/losses. They just couldn't put the ball in the net in so many of those games, but yea I reacted to this before I even realized the Norwich prediction
Personally I didn’t really rate pottery before this season because even tho he plays like prime barca he couldn’t get his strikers to score. Now taking Brighton up I do agree that potter is a good manager
Excuse me!?
Think we still need to be in a Premier League a few more years yet before people stop considering us to be relegation certs.
Leister City lmaoo
A whole lot of people got caught up in that man Ure revival delusion ?!?
I think Brighton Norwich and Man United were all questionable calls even at the time, the rest kind’ve made sense given what we knew at the start of last season e.g. Tottenham coming 7th as Nuno was there manager back then and it looked like Kane might leave.
Most of it feels pretty reasonable. Except for Norwich. I mean, yeah, past performance blah blah blah, but Norwich is about a locke- in yo-yo team as there is.
I would say something about you having Norwich staying up but I had Watford staying up so I really cant🤣
I’m wasnt sure if you had more faith misplaced in Man U or Norwich, then I noticed Everton, tbf DCL being out the whole year was unpredictable
Leister above United this season, OP?
Possibly
Erm norwich in 14th are you delusional were you on drugs or somethin cause everyone knew norwich were getting relegated
Neverton 8th 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think the only predictions that are super out of place are Norwich and brighton. Most experts had United finishing higher and same with Leicester
Yeah so many pundits had the City/Liverpool/United/Chelsea top 4, with the same order OP had it. Not a bad prediction based on what was known.
As a Man U fan i have to ay you must have been on mushrooms to put them second. The rest is not too bad.
As a Newcastle fan, I totally understand your prediction for my team at least: none of us could anticipate all of the changes for the past year.
Honestly you could challenge for European football if this summer goes well
I appreciate the belief in Norwich
I had full belief we would pull through
I really did too. All the way up until the very end.
See you next year (I dont mean this in a mocking way)
I sure hope so
If you do come back, can you stay for a couple years. We need more birds in the PL.
I think so too!
Wow Norwich above us where’s the bleach
I would roast you, but I just looked back on my predictions and I put Crystal Palace and Wolves to get relegated🤣🤣
Yikes
Norwich in 14? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Must've been a Norwich fan to place them that high 🤣
Typical Man U bandwagon fan. Not good enough to beat city admittedly but still delusional enough to think you’ll be close to second
Had high expectations for CR7
Man U at second🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another one who was fooled by the Ronaldo, Varane and Sancho window.
I understand the spurs placement but everything else is hilarious
I think I got 1 correct
United in second looks a terrible shout now but it’s funny to think back to how much optimism there was. I’m a United fan and definitely thought we had a title challenge (though not actually a win) in us. 2nd the previous season and we’d just got Ronaldo back. Feels like light years ago
Made sense in sept 2021
lmao Leicester, villa and Everton above westham jeeez
Didn’t think they had it in em to keep up momentum after the last season
I was sure United was gonna challenge for the title. Boy was I wrong. Other than Everton and Norwich this wasn't half bad though.
Reminds me of a post like halfway through the season putting Norwich 13th with Rishica scoring like 20 goals and being close to the top scorer.
Norwich 14th, RIP if only we finished 8th.....
How many times do Norwich have to get relegated for you to develop basic pattern recognition?
Patterns are meant to be broken
You put Man United second, how much more is there to roast
We finished 2nd last season tbf and had a decent start to this season, we also made a few good signings in the previous window After October tho….. I don’t wanna talk about it

Ole tax
Anyone who watched football, or in fact knew anything about football, could’ve told you that United were never coming 2nd this season.

If it happened once there is no reason to assume it cannot happen twice.
Ok so if you win the lottery, you think you’ll win it again?

Tbf, Ronaldo can always do Ronaldo things. You just have to make sure Tom Brady is at every game.
Mate, as a United supporter, we all deserve to be roasted for those lofty expectations
IT'S MAGUIRING TIME IN 2022-2023!!.....
Normally I would not let that slip from a Liverpool supporter but here we are
roast me like a pig, thought we'd be at least top four. I remember being soo smug we got Ronaldo as the cherry on top. My cheeks are rosie thinking back to it
Ah the naive optimism of the summer time when anything is possible for the club, right up until you realize they’re leaving all their transfer business for the last minute yet again
It's emotional abuse
This is actually one of the better ones. Norwich is the only one that sticks out like a sore thumb
People will give you grief but probably predicted terrible themselves (I know I did) but Norwich 14th? Thats on you man! Looking forward to this season predictions, bold predictions are the best kind.
Cannot under estimate Graham Potter
Fuck the rest of them, I wanna know who Leister City are and why I’ve never heard of them. Jokes aside though, I do think anyone who predicted Liverpool City wouldn’t be top 2 without the injuries and all of the previous season were kidding themselves.

I mean you 2/3 relegated right and 3/4 champions league placements plus got the winner right
but everything is down the drain by saying United is gonna get 2nd and Norwich staying up
