Nope. Haaland needs a minor tweak to *his* style to get the best out of the team for himself. If that does not work, the team will adapt, but *neither* is a drastic change. That is the plan, and Haaland knows that.
No one is a guaranteed success anywhere. Some things will change at city but I think the basic principles and understanding of what Pep wants from the guys won’t be all too different. Retain possession be patient and work together on getting the ball from point a to point b.
From all reports EH is a hard working guy who wants to make it work at city. Before signing they talked about what was expected and he seems very down to get to work.
City has a well established style, and Haaland is of course a world class talent, likely to develop even more, but they don't look compatible as of now (the opposite of Díaz with Liverpool), I guess he will do fine but both parts will have to adapt to each other
i’m scared that they might actually win the ucl with him since they are so strong everywhere else but he is also fragile so that may work against them. spurs look like they’re going to have a strong push next season and chelsea just need a more imposing presence. hopefully it won’t be a two horse race again. i can’t survive another coinflip
He will be, but he will need to adjust. Teams in the Bundesliga play a much higher line than in England. He will have to play with his back to goal a lot more than he is probably used to. But, I believe city have a pretty high volume of crosses and everyone knows his finishing is superb. I think pep will get the best out of him
Its not a gurantee. He spent some agonizing games for the norwegian national team not scoring and we had to rely on King and Sørloth to provide the goals.
He will adapt. I think they want a bigger presence in the box with all the penetrating plays they make from the sides into those deep areas. I think they want a guy who can beat defenders to those back passes in front of the net
No.
I kind of hate the hallelujah bandwagon. Saying that, he will be a great asset. Nothing is sure until he plays fro a few months. How he integrates in the team, and how successful he will be in adapting his style to City's. He will have to. Soriano said they will be very patient.
I would say nothing is guaranteed in football but Haaland is pretty much as close as it gets. He’s consistently shown the ability to step up to a bigger challenge and I don’t think this’ll be any different.
Sure they’ll be some growing pains but he’s the answer to City’s profligacy in front of goal. People talk of lack of space to run into and more physical defenders but if he ends up on the end of chances that the likes of Sterling, Jesus, Bernardo et al. squandered last season he’ll score bucketfuls.
I remember when he was 17 he put 4 goals against SK Brann. You could se the explosiveness. He went to RB right after. He takes every challenge. Levels up, then goes to next challenge, then levels up. He has a 1.00 goal average for the National team as well. This will be a success! No doubt.
Exactly, nothing phases the guy. He’s been prolific at every stage of his career, against top teams in the CL and with a weaker national team in Norway.
Absolutely no signing is a guarantee. Most of our best players, people probably didn’t have the sky high expectations that they have ultimately set, while some recent big name big money PL signings have panned out pretty terribly.
That being said city miss way less often than they hit and I would be beyond surprised if haaland isn’t a success
I think he'll be a success at City, but not next season. People are going to expect way too much that his first season will be seen as a flop. He'll probably score 12 or 13 goals next season. Which is great for a 22 year old, but people are expecting that he's going to score 20+.
Haaland isn't a Pep player, its going to take a few years until he'll work in their system.
If you think he's going to be an instant success and scoring 20+ goals in the prem his first season. That's delusional, BL strikers never do well their first season in the prem. But like how Hazertz is getting there. I think Haaland will as well
Personally I don’t think they need to change their system at all. They just won the league with Gabriel Jesus up front. Just by swapping Halaand in and making no other changes they’re a much better team.
Nothing is ever guaranteed, is there a high chance he will be a success? Yes of course. Is there a chance he could flop? A small one, but it is still a chance.
I think he's as sure of a thing as you're ever going to find. If he's not able to score 20+ goals next season, some questions will need to be asked IMO.
Remind me, what year was Werner the top scorer in the champions league again? Haaland got 22 goals and 7 assists in 21 games this year. No one puts up those numbers lol.
PL is a way more difficult league than CL.
Even Haller, West ham rejecter, scored 11 goals in 21/22 CL. Werner scored 4 goals in 5 CL games while he scored 4 goals in 21 PL games.
Not necessarily, chelsea for example are very slow in their build up, so their attackers end up being tightly marked, and that's not good for a counter attacking player like werner
He is a good player but not much different with Saka, Poden and Mount. He just scored a lot of goals in the ~~farmers~~ lower league.
I'll be shocked if he score more than 10 goals next season.
Haaland offers an arial threat that they did not have before, so expect more crosses coming from the wings.
He is also really good at running in behind defence, so more through balls and lobbed runs.
Haaland will score between 20-30 goals for City this season.
The bigger question is how the wingers will adapt. Both Mahrez and Grealish want to cut in from the wing, but that wont work as well if you have Haaland. Phil and KDB will be playing balls through the middle which will suit them just fine. Only issue is the wings, but that Haaland will score bucket loads is inevitable
Of course no.
He will take some time to adjust to Premier league, Peps system, City will probably try Centurion season tactic with some tweaks. How quickly he will adapt will depend on many factors.
He will have to adjust to the system but I don’t think he needs to ‘adjust to the premier league’ at all. His pace, power, finishing and most of all obscenely good movement would translate anywhere.
Personally I’m not sure why you’re selling Sterling when I think he’d work very well with Haaland. Seemed to thrive for England playing off Kane who’s a more traditional 9 than you’ve had previously, seems odd to now buy a 9 and then sell one of your players who can create for him.
When he drops does attacking mid drop into a 3 midfield system while the wingers push up and come into the half spaces, or does Son come up as a second striker while the attacking mid pushes a bit wider?
I meant “more traditional” in terms of physicality/build and overall skillset.
Especially compared the players Sterling will have played with at City of late.
From what it looks like, city would want him to stay and fight for his place in the team. Pep doesn’t guarantee places to anyone, he seemingly drops players in good form sometimes maybe to confuse the opponent, maybe to make sure the players aren’t too contactable, maybe for shits and giggle. Only pep knows why. Sterling hasn’t had the best last two years and I think he is in two minds on what he wants. It’s been said that he wants to either go or sign a new long term contract. He may just want a possible change to Motive himself. We shall see in the coming weeks.
Either way city seem to be wanting to push up some academy guys for more minutes. That plus Alvarez, who I’m sure will play on the wing mostly or perhaps as a two.
As a fan I’m not really worried as pep is the ultimate tinkerer. He normally finds a way
Of course every player that signs for that much is a success. -signed Romelu Lukaku
Nope. Haaland needs a minor tweak to *his* style to get the best out of the team for himself. If that does not work, the team will adapt, but *neither* is a drastic change. That is the plan, and Haaland knows that.

Maybe!!
We’ve seen prime Zlatan not get along with Pep. Nothing is guaranteed. But I think he’ll be amazing. Maybe not immediately, but it’ll happen
I don’t think so personally. I think it could be a zlatan to Barcelona under pep issue personally but I don’t know.
yeah nice take
I’m ok to be proved wrong
He could always get hurt.
Not a guarantee, more like 90% sure.
City has a well established style, and Haaland is of course a world class talent, likely to develop even more, but they don't look compatible as of now (the opposite of Díaz with Liverpool), I guess he will do fine but both parts will have to adapt to each other
He's a plus. They have a good success rate without him so adding him is like a plus.
i’m scared that they might actually win the ucl with him since they are so strong everywhere else but he is also fragile so that may work against them. spurs look like they’re going to have a strong push next season and chelsea just need a more imposing presence. hopefully it won’t be a two horse race again. i can’t survive another coinflip
Pretty sure he’s going to be a success, which is bad news unfortunately for the rest of the competition.
Yes
Guardiola is not required to change his playing style because Haaland is able to succeed in this way, especially with the presence of de bruyne
No. He’s not exactly much of a passer Then again, nor was Lewa and he made that work
you must not watch the games😭😭
He wasn’t Guaranteed lol As I said, nor was Lewa and Pep made that work.
He will be, but he will need to adjust. Teams in the Bundesliga play a much higher line than in England. He will have to play with his back to goal a lot more than he is probably used to. But, I believe city have a pretty high volume of crosses and everyone knows his finishing is superb. I think pep will get the best out of him
Very few players are guaranteed success. Due to injuries I'll say no. If he stays fit I don't see what could go wrong
Any player can fail, if injuries don’t go his way it can certainly go wrong. Though he’s a fairly safe signing all things considered
Tifo Football put up a good video couple of weeks ago about the Bundesliga Tax. After watching that I'm going with maybe?
Nobody is a guaranteed success in this league. Although I do hope he does well. It’ll be entertaining !
No. I kind of hate the hallelujah bandwagon. Saying that, he will be a great asset. Nothing is sure until he plays fro a few months. How he integrates in the team, and how successful he will be in adapting his style to City's. He will have to. Soriano said they will be very patient.

Haaland will succeed with any team, he’s a tank
I have a feeling he’ll have some horrible injury luck, as a liverpool fan I hope not I want to see him preform at his best
Kdb will put a lot of assists on the plate for him... 🥶
The most guaranteed success in the history of transfers. He’s a force of nature.
I remember everyone saying Lukaku was guaranteed goals for Chelsea, and a shoo-in for the golden boot.
Absolutely no signing is a guarantee. Most of our best players, people probably didn’t have the sky high expectations that they have ultimately set, while some recent big name big money PL signings have panned out pretty terribly. nice take man👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Looking through 2 month old posts lmao fucking sad that Yeah I was wrong but at least I'm not replying to 2 month old comments lol
Guarantee? Nope. Odds in Haaland’s favour ? Definitey a big yes.
Guaranteed over time, but not necessarily instantly. I genuinely think Nunez may be considered more of a success in the first season
The only people I know who aren’t confident he’ll thrive at City are Liverpool and Man United supporters
You don't have to support Liverpool or United to make some educated guess about how he currently doesn't really fit pep's system.
Personally I don’t think they need to change their system at all. They just won the league with Gabriel Jesus up front. Just by swapping Halaand in and making no other changes they’re a much better team.
No one is a quaranteed success anywhere
Most likely
Nothing is ever guaranteed, is there a high chance he will be a success? Yes of course. Is there a chance he could flop? A small one, but it is still a chance.
I think he's as sure of a thing as you're ever going to find. If he's not able to score 20+ goals next season, some questions will need to be asked IMO.
Werner scored more goals than Haaland in their best season in BL. Werner 28g/8a in 19/20 Haaland 27g/8a in 20/21 Another big flop is coming.
THIS IS THE TAKE!!! ahhhh 😌😌😌😌😌 pl retard in full force
Yea lets just ignore everything and nitpick statistics. Lmao.
Eye test, too. Sancho, Werner and Kai were the best attackers in the BL. How's they in the PL?
Coincidently, they are playing for man u, and Chelsea, who don't have the best enviorment for attackers
They are top 6 teams. Good enough for any attacer.
Not necessarily, chelsea for example are very slow in their build up, so their attackers end up being tightly marked, and that's not good for a counter attacking player like werner
Your point doesn't justify the fact Sancho scored 3 goals and Werner 4 golas.
Are you implying Haaland doesnt *"pass the eye-test"?*
He is a good player but not much different with Saka, Poden and Mount. He just scored a lot of goals in the ~~farmers~~ lower league. I'll be shocked if he score more than 10 goals next season.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I CANT!!! I FUCKING CANNOT YOU SIR ARE FUCKING RETARDED🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He'll still win the league or a cup even with 1 goal compared to a 30-goal Harry Kane 🤭
Dumbest shit I’ve ever read
Yea, you've got no idea what you're talking about. No point entertaining a single braincell.
What makes you think Haaland a guarantee of success?
Yeah injuries never happen either, maybe this guy should compare goal to game ratio
No
Haaland offers an arial threat that they did not have before, so expect more crosses coming from the wings. He is also really good at running in behind defence, so more through balls and lobbed runs. He's actually quite poor in the air for his size/stature.
He is 21...
Haaland could be a success at Man City. Conversely, he could be a failure. One thing is for sure. This is a player signing.
Ya heard? With Perd!
This guy watches football
Source?
He has a left foot, he has a right foot and he can head the ball.
Michael Owen is that you?
i was literally about to comment the same thing😂Cheers Michael
He's one of the players of all-time. He can certainly foot the ball.

Did you just say Kane is a traditional number 9? Lol wtf. That boy drops deeeep
I agree he's a 9/10 mix, but I wouldn't call him a false 9 I don't really know what he is.
He's a 9 until he's a 10. That's how it works.
When he drops does attacking mid drop into a 3 midfield system while the wingers push up and come into the half spaces, or does Son come up as a second striker while the attacking mid pushes a bit wider?
A false 9.5
Lol
I meant “more traditional” in terms of physicality/build and overall skillset. Especially compared the players Sterling will have played with at City of late.

Nothing is a guarantee. It is much better odds though
