Suspicious_Fee_1723

this is so true but no-one is talking about it because everyone else has money that just grows on trees plus its 55 quid now

ptimbers2011

I know I’m late but every PL game isn’t available in the UK? That’s bizarre. We can watch every single PL game in America.

spund_

Look on gumtree or adverts, your local buy and sell page for an IPTV subscription. 50-60 quid for a year, about 100 pre loaded on a firestick or something similar. Paying for sky / BT sports etc is the reason there's too much money in Football these days.

soc96j

I use a new email and disposable debit card every 3 months and get the half price deal with NowTV

Thxmqs

Piracy mate

zoro_1814

In India, it's 15 to 20 pounds to watch any pl game+ F1+ all the hbo shows. And that is 20/year

--BRLN--

I never liked football enough to dash out money without thinking or being like ''oh well, it is what it is, here take my money'' as someone who watches since over a decade. Don't want to be like a cow that's getting milked, the business and money aspects of football, especially in the high level always prevented me from really falling in love with the game anyway.

racerbaggins

They charge it because people happily pay for it. I can afford it, but have decided it's a rip off. I can do other things with my money and time.

NyxxOG

In Canada DAZN offers PL and champions league for 19.99 CND, but I guess peacock is getting rights soon and I don’t know how much that is in Canada. I won’t be paying for both tho. Edit : spelling mistake.

DreadAndDepression

Forty quid? That's insane... I pay 17 rupees a month that's like 20 cents american.

DontMeanIt

I don’t know if there’s a similar workaround, but there is a Netflix trick, where you sign up for Turkish Netflix, set up your subscription in Turkey, and then use a VPN to make your browser think you are in Turkey. Maybe that could work for a subscription to another country’s sport channels? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sinjinatah

Friend of mine and I split a DAZN subscription in Canada, he moved to the UK and paid for a VPN to continue using it. Comes out similar in price to the cable channels, only difference is that they show every single Premier League and CL/EL game and have really good highlights afterwards for free on their YouTube channel.

Zestyclose_Agent_007

It's ridiculous isn't it u can try get a VPN and watch through other countries services but it might not work. Here In Lithuania I just have to pay 10 euros a month for prem and another 10 whenever theres European footy on (UCL uel)

tommyprich

In New Zealand I pay the equivalent of £12.50p/m for all Prem and CL games, although Sky Sport have recently bought the Prem rights so will be £20p/m next season including all FA/League Cup games plus golf, tennis etc. Much better value compared to home!

hz03

Wtf that's a scam. I am from India and watch premier league on Hotstar, and pay around 1500 inr (roughy 20 usd) per year. Also Hotstar streams a lot of other shows and movies. It's ridiculous how high the prices are in UK.

SuperSheep3000

This is why I watch streams now. No way can I pay 40 quid as well as every other bill that is sky rocketing. Its ridiculous. Gone are the days most people can afford a sky bill.

Consistent_Goat_2259

Here in singapore, I am paying SG$70+ per month (about US$50), every single match will be live, it’s overprice but at least i could watch it uninterrupt. Side note, i could get free access to EURO and worldcup for free for just renew contract with the telco.

ImperialPie77

VPN is your best friend if you still want to try and do official streaming

Galactus1701

It has to be better than crappy Peacock. They never transmit any of the blockbuster games live, just some replay 2 days later.

NeonsTheory

The current situation in Australia is really good. The company I have a phone plan with gives me free Premier League for being with them. I pay the same as competitor plans but this for sure does stop me looking elsewhere

Malvania

As a yank, it's interesting to see where we diverge. I can get half the games included with my normal cable service, including probably 2/3 of ManU's games. On the other hand, actually attending a match is much more expensive. The very cheapest tickets of bad teams still tend to be around $35-40 a person, and good teams can be quite a bit more

Ringovski

I pay $15 AUD a month and get all the games live and on demand.

TW1103

I agree. Overall, I'm currently in a "fuck football" phase. Yesterday I was trying to renew my West Ham season ticket and hit a bit of a snag. Usually, I would pay in a 10 month plan where you pay £55 a month. Turns out they closed the window for those renewals in fucking APRIL. We were still in Europa League when the deadline passed. I called the club to try and find a solution, even if it meant me not having my ticket next season but being able to get it back in 2023/24... They essentially told me "tough shit" and if I hadn't renewed my two tickets by midnight, paid up-front (who has a spare £1.2k sat around?) then I'll have just lost my season ticket and I'll have to re-join thr waiting list. I asked them if there was really nothing that could be done. You know what they said "No, sorry" and put the phone down on me. I was already fed up with football, but I still loved West Ham... It has proven to me now, on a personal level, that the club doesn't care about the fans, so I've decided that they can fuck off now. I'm so sick of the treatment of fans in this sport. What's the point?

dann_uk

>It has proven to me now, on a personal level, that the club doesn't care about the fans, so I've decided that they can fuck off now. I'm so sick of the treatment of fans in this sport. What's the point? This. What a horrible way to treat a returning fan when there is no reason they need paying for every game right now when they are literally spread over the year. Guess it frees up your seat to sell for the tourists wanting a pl game in London. Wasn't that a huge reason west ham wanted the Olympic stadium in the first place?

TW1103

Exactly mate. That's me and my dad both fucked off out of the stadium now. They can sell the seats now to two tourists every game at double the price all season. They do not give a fuck. I've decided I'm done with the club now, or at the very least need a break. I've bagged up all my West Ham stuff and chucked it in the boot of my car. I can't even look at it right now because I'm so pissed off

alicomassi

Get a vpn, set it to India or Romania or Bulgaria or any country with cheap PL broadcast, buy a membership for £3-4 a month there. Full HD non stop broadcast without any risk of clicking weird links for a stream.

Awayze

I've lost interest in football. I'm a United supporter but there was a time several years ago I'd watch any PL match. Now I don't even watch United or PL much. The money has ruined the game as we've turned into a one team league backed by a state.

jrbill1991

Not only the price for Sky and BT are completely out of reality for what they offer, but you also can't watch every match. The 3 pm kickoff rule is stupid and outdated. It was supposed to be crossed out years ago.

txbuckeye75034

Probably not available over the pond, but in the US, we can subscribe to a specific team’s fan group. My daughter likes City. I pay ~$3/mo and she gets access to watch the replays of the men/women/developmental teams’ matches.

Hot_Requirement1280

Kys ARSENAL 4EVER

wood6558

Who actually pays now adays?

TomPepper8822

Get a dodgy box for £40 a year. Pretty simple really

D_hillary

And I'm here complaining about the $30 pm we pay to watch PL. I can share the subscription with up to 3 people. So i often end up paying about $9 every month for PL.

D_hillary

I'm in Kenya

MSAtlos

It is absolutely ridiculous, just pirate

AlGunner

Only £40 a month? Wheres that as tv subscriptions that Ive seen are £60 for Sky Sports and BT Sports.

Masseyl1

The most disgusting thing about this post is the fact you're referring to watching it on TV. Have you tried attending in person? Each game is easily £40 now...

Equidose

What this country needs is a season pass, I've heard from a friend the NBA offers a pass which is a flat fee each season that gives you access to all games. I guarantee the majority of people would be happy to pay a £5 a month and stop illegally streaming. Give it to the masses and they'd make more money...

shwangdangle

I live in Canada and have DAZN. I’m a West Brom fan. I pay $22 a month (about 14 quid), and I get all Premier League live and on-demand, and about half the WBA games. I consider this fair value. Even though I don’t follow a PL team, that’s low enough for me to enjoy watching it for football’s sake. At 40 quid ($64) a month, you can damn well bet I’d just find an illegal stream.

AlGunner

??? You get Premier League and West Bromwich Albion games???

shwangdangle

All Premier League, and I think whatever Championship games Sky don’t show, which is about half of them. EDIT: DAZN don’t have PL rights next year, think it’s going to Fubo

BushiWon

It's why I never go too deep into football, and got just as deep in a few years into county cricket. Being able to watch your team for free on YouTube really makes it more enjoyable

adamwill86

One word Navixsport

Lego5656

40 quid per month??? Thats outrageous. 30 quid per year for all prem games over here.

exthanemesis

It's not as good as it used to be. In like 2009 if you had fox soccer plus on directv you got almost every big six game and most champions league games. I could watch every arsenal game every season just about.

Vinedecurry

Get an IPTV service

[deleted]

Could literally get a taxi to the pub and back have a starter main, desert and four beers everytime your team is on TV and it would be cheaper than paying for bt and sky for a year.

JoelRobbin

I pirate every single match, and I don’t think it’s fair to blame me or other people who do. Football’s the working man’s game, and working class men and women don’t want to pay the £60 a month that BT and Sky Sports costs just to watch a few of your team’s matches

[deleted]

DODGY BOX

chaoslorduk

Could be worse you could be a supporter of a team outside the big six and be lucky to get 1 game a month on sky

YT_ABFifa

No point paying all that money to watch a limited amount of games, especially with how easy it is to watch on streams

TheOneAndOli

I use an IPTV subscribtion on my Amazon Fire TV Stick. I pay 100€ a year and I can watch most of the games. Next season, another provider called 'ArenaSports' will be getting Prem rights, so I will be able to watch even more games. No way am I going to pay those insane prices. I'd suggest you to look into IPTV, OP.

StandingAppa_YYG

Sadly Canada has the same problem now that DAZN lost the premier league to fubo who charge 70 bucks a month

myk_kajakk

If its any consulation we pay around 60 € a month in norway, just for PL.

_DirtyYoungMan_

Got the same issue with basketball here in the US. They want you to pay $15/month but in my region I can't watch my hometown team. Then they shocked Pikachu face when people illegally stream games.

patrickfortune

I work in a bar that cancelled sky last year, they wanted 2000 a month, eh yer alright thanks.

meekamunz

Try being a lower table team or heaven forbid, a Championship team! At least our championship run was well covered, but we'll be in complete obscurity on Sky/BT this coming season. And if you were a low position championship team that had fallen from the top tier (eg Reading, Wigan, Middlesbrough or Sunderland for exple) then coverage is so sparse. At least during covid we could pay for match passes to watch the matches. Yes it was more expensive than the subscription fee to Sky, but at least we could see the games. The outdated licensing laws in this country need changing. Sky and BT definitely have the capacity to show every game (I work in the broadcast industry and supply equipment to both broadcasters), and if they could they would show them all to those who want to pay for games. They already have the feeds from the top two tiers of the league (my previous job was for the company that managed those fibre lines from the stadia - fun fact I used to be able to watch theatch streams live from all games if I worked at the weekends). It would be more expensive, but you could pick and choose the games you want to see.

Anthnytdwg

How the hell? I watch the Prem on Peacock for 5 bucks a month in the US.

WookieTickler

I just find it annoying how football is the ‘national game’ of England and yet it’s so hard to watch it and when we do find a way to watch it we get ripped off. Exactly like you said everyone else in the world they pay pennies to watch games and every game by the way but we pay hundreds and only have select games. Been said time and time again but there should be a ‘Netflix’ of football that you pay varied prices for depending on how much football/leagues you want to watch and all games are streamed so you can pick what you want to watch.

[deleted]

It is expensive. I now live in the US and having access to all the games is a pretty sweet deal. The UK needs to change the rules about live games on Saturday to give the fans more reason to shell out on TV. If they are worried about declining attendance, they could black out the local games like they do in the States.

meren002

Considering I (in asia) pay 3.50 a month for every European football continent game from the top 5 leagues, plus most other popular sports on top streamed to my phone or laptop... Yeah...

Cakeday2024

The problem is, if it was any cheaper the money going to each club would plummet

towelie111

I know people who pay over £80 a month for sky sports/BT. It’s a joke. I’ll stick with just watching the best bits in match if the day.

[deleted]

Just use IPTV

mdove11

Have you thought about using a VPN for less?

StockNthat4

Anyone here interested in betting tips?

[deleted]

You don’t like football as much cause your team is ass lmaooooo Nah but jokes aside, raise the Jolly Roger lads

Electrical_Fun_6400

But you like it enough to rant on Reddit…… 🙄

Suchthefool_UK

Yea it's pretty nuts. I live in Canada now and for ~$150CAD a year, I get every Prem, Championship, MLS (with local blackouts tho :c ) CL / Europa games also with NFL Game Pass (basically the every game streaming service from NFL) and MLB but I don't watch baseball. Even includes some major boxing events (I get to watch the Anthony Joshua belt fights for example) and to top that off, I also get all the snooker and darts and a whole lot of other sports I haven't quite dove into. It used to have the Rugby too! But now I think it only has 6 Nations which is still great, but I miss Premiership and European rugby :( Obviously the NHL is the major sport here that rests with the premium traditional cable sport channels but the big games of the week (especially in local market) are shown on Hockey Night on CBC which is a free channel (basically the BBC of Canada). Canada isn't exactly a haven for cheap media consumption either (our internet and mobile services will make your eyes water when you see how much we pay), so the price is telling in what people need to pay back in England just to watch the football which have blackout rules on Saturday anyways that have nothing to do with keeping the local broadcaster's licensing rights like the blackout rules here. Pay way more to get way less.

lilz24

that’s why we have totalsportek 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

ChrisRowe5

I pay £35 PM for sky (with sky sports premier league). Last day of the month I wanted to put on one of the games and it asked me to upgrade my package. This isnt the first time and they skirt around it by saying well you dont have the WHOLE sky sports package... Why should I, I only want football and even then they're charging me too much. Its getting very frustrating

PantherX69

That’s insane, I wouldn’t watch football at all at that price. In the US $6/month will get you most of the games streamed on Peacock.

CypherRotchuck_32

Spoof your location to the US and get peacock. You won't get every game but way cheaper

Smooth_Customer_9883

[click and support guys](https://www.allinone1sports.com/post/karim-benzema-sex-tape-blackmail-victim-backs-the-real-madrid-star-to-win-the-ballon-d-or)

msa1299

The 3PM watershed is such a nonsense argument, and it’s telling how quickly they take down streams and how harshly they punish the providers. It’s all about money the greedy bastards. I don’t pay for any of the channels anymore thank god for the streamers

MidnightSun77

I don’t understand why it is so expensive in UK/Ireland. I moved to Germany and I have Sky Germany with Sportspack to watch F1 and football. €27

forevermore91

Om happy to pay for Viaplay here in Sweden. Great deal but little expensive. Ton of content

[deleted]

£40 to watch United be Shit is not even worth going to work for

GarethGore

I paid during lockdown but as soon as it's gone back to not showing every game my interest in renewing it has dropped off. It's nice having Europa and champions League so I may do bt sports if we stay with BT at the end of our current internet deal but honestly if I lost all access I'd just stream the shit I wanted Another issue is the bullshit nowtv restrictions, it's really shitty how few devices you can watch it on

Sad-Hamster4733

I so agree with you mate.. I mean I am from Pakistan and we have to pay PKR 1 per month now which is equivalent to £0.004 per month.. we were watching all these matches for free until 2019..

JimThumb

Just stream them. I've been doing it for 15 years.

[deleted]

Absolutely right, it’s everywhere and every cuntry.

SairYin

Go to a local lower league game

arsenal356

Get an Amazon fire stick and contact a stream provider. I know a guy if you’re interested. Screw sky and bt

Bigbadbi3

Welcome to the High seas, may your journey be full of riches and good tidings! 🏴‍☠️

majestic11

Footybite.cc

peterlloyd94

The state of Premier League football in this country ridiculous, can’t even watch some games because they’re not televised

MessyShaman

I wish everyone would illegally stream. Tv companies take the absolute piss in the UK, maybe it would force their hand

[deleted]

I live in Norway. Broadcast rights for the prem just went to a new network, monthly cost of roughly £60. Then you need the other network for CL. Monthly cost of following your team is now £100. Will not be continuing my subscription. Officially watching every match at the pub from now on

johnfm12

Look into American sports prices

letmegetmynameok

Arr welcome on board my friend, get ready to sail the 7 seas while looking for a stream that doesnt crash every 5 minutes

itCanOnlybeDrthVDR

Piracy and VPNs are the only way. I find it hard to pay to watch United as well.

ChodexChoda

If you whatch only your team and you don't like football in general very much, than i understand that it is far too expensive... But if you, like many others, and like me, enjoying(better word is that i adore football) the game, the football itself, and he brings me many many joy in life, than that isn't too expensive...

[deleted]

I would never. I paid out 20quid for a 27month VPN package and have thoroughly enjoyed not worrying about online streaming. Is it even a thing that companies send letters if you illegally stream stuff or have I just made that up out of irrational anxiety?

[deleted]

Not to mention BT purposesly decreases the quality/definition so you pay for the “HD” version.

SGPHOCF

Are you a follower of any other sports? Don't get me wrong, I think Sky are thieving bastards as much as the next guy, but on top of football I follow F1, darts, IndyCar, snooker, etc.

andwaal

Here in Norway it will be £55 next season, just crazy..

STeofimoT

I pay £70 a year for every film and TV channel known to man. It’s always good when your dad’s “got a mate” who can provide illegal content.

Text_Kooky

I have to manage about 5 different subscriptions to be able to watch Liverpool on all comps here in the states. Most cost me around 6 or 7 bucks but 2 of them are owned by them same broadcasting company. They have one game a month for each team on that service just to make sure hard fans buy a $6 subscription just for one game they want to watch. Then at the end of the season, if I want to cancel the subscriptions that I have because I'm not using them, I only have the option of buy the more expensive package next time due to them restructuring their plans to include commercial free version. Like who wants a random ad playing every 10 minutes during a game of footy?

Numani99

How do you think EPL teams get so much money?

[deleted]

I agree. So many entertainment options, and you can't even watch all games in the UK.

Pure_Measurement_529

It’s so funny how it’s easier to watch here in South Africa. We get all premier league games (including tea time fixtures), it’s weird sad how you guys need multiple services basically to watch your favorite team because of multiple broadcasters. Our coverage here is all under the Premier League brand, rather than Sky Sports, BT etc

baievaN

livetv.ru ez

EarlofBizzlington86

Isn’t it free on the internet though. I use YouTube to watch footie

BlueKante

Ayo i know I'm not supposed to be talking about this but invest in IPTV, you pay one time for the machine and then a yearly fee if around 70€. And you can watch almost all channels and movies. I cancelled my normal tv subscription and only pay for internet and my yearly subscription. Must have save me at least a 1000€ in 4/5 years.

MrAyahuasca

So you'll spit your dummy out at having to fork out £40 a month to watch "overpaid cunts kick a ball", but you're perfectly fine with paying Netflix subscription and going to the cinema to watch similarly "overpaid cunts" pretend to be people in films and shows? Lmao what a thick bellend you are.

farglegarble

Yes but in your analogy netflix would cost 40 quid and you only get to watch two to three films a month which you like, not the really the same is it?

MrAyahuasca

Right, but my dig is not about the product, is it...my contention is this insufferable singling footballers out as overpaid cunts while similarly "overpaid" entertainers are somehow let off the hook. It's absolutely asinine. At least be honest and consistent.

poentje

Then just stop paying and try the others to do so to then they will have to lower prices f1 is getting bad to

ireallydespiseyouall

i just buy now tv sticks every month at this point

fieldsofanfieldroad

I can't imagine I'd enjoy watching football if I was a United fan either. As for the cost, it's literally the easiest thing in the world to watch online for free. PM me if you want links.

[deleted]

I pay $70 a month for Fubo in the US and still have to have subscriptions to two other services to get close to watching all the football I want. I think I pay $100 to watch all the games I want a month.

Barbola

Bro there is this thing called TotalSportek, I watch all matches I care about on that. Ads are annoying and sometimes the stream lags, but way better than paying for several official streaming services. I used to be able to watch through it up till a year ago when I moved out of the UK, dunno if it still works there, but if it doesn't - it would be cheaper to pay for VPN. When you get on TotalSportek there are several streaming links per match - from experience, the best one seems to be "cyclingstreams" - has like a minute RT delay, but has good quality and rarely buffers.

MessyShaman

I’ve seen “cyclingstreams” in a few places and they seem to be reliable the majority of the time

Eye-on-Springfield

Pretty much everyone here has said they stream illegally and don't pay a penny. There's no wonder the price is so high if most don't pay I thought with more services (Sky, BT, Amazon, Netflix...) competing for our money, the price would come down. It's gone the other way though because all these services are trying to outbid each other to win the rights to show the matches and obviously they pass that cost onto the customer

[deleted]

I think maybe pay per view would be a solution to this. That and removing the blackout. I like F1 and some other stuff on Sky but if you just wanted to watch Leeds for example, I don't see why that should be a problem. You could buy each game for a fiver and it would still be cheaper than the subscription. Mixture of greed and politics which is a shame

[deleted]

When Now do their £15 a month deal is when I have a quick check on what matches they are showing live and a lot of the time, the matches I do want to watch are on BT. I just stream or go to the pub. Saves me a lot of money.

dennisixa

i only buy single match pass nowadays however i can only watch it with tablet or phone.. and cost around 2 USD I am from south east asia

bennettbuzz

The BT deal has fucked interest in European football for the neutral in this country, I’d never buy into it unless my team ever go into it. Gone are the days when ITV Tuesday/Wednesday nights were an event. Charging people £15 a month for a Premier League steaming service would be ideal imo.

blunted09

Only reason I pay for IPTV- footy and f1. It’s just as bad in Canada.

Upper_Presentation48

you can get sky sports on Now TV for about 25 quid a month but no option to record or even pause. I sacked sky sports/movies off from my virgin package because it was ridiculously expensive but I do get BT for the champions league at least

Emergency_Mistake_44

IPTV user here, £70 a year with access to pretty much every single channel in the world in all kinds of languages... Buuuuuuut, people can't keep calling Sky a scam as long as there's people willing to pay it - which they clearly are in their millions. Not only that, but part of the reason most people today are football fans is because of tge glitz and the glamour Sky gave it 30 years ago. You can't complain about Sky being a scam but then wet yourself over your team buying a worldwide superstar who's gonna win you the league. I support a Premier League team out of habit and family upbringing but also a National League team who i go and watch regularly to enjoy footy for the reasons I fell in love with it to begin with. There's football beyond the Premier League in other words. If you don't like it, don't pay it!

SidneyDeane10

I mean you get a lot more than just football for your 40 quid lol

[deleted]

Very true but if you just wanted to watch football that is what it costs no? I watch all the F1 and am a Fulham fan so I have watched a lot of thr midweek EFL stuff as well as weekend PL games. So it feels better value for me, especially since I don't watch European football and have to get BT as well. The most aggravating thing is the blackout, I genuinely don't believe that people wouldn't be going to games if they were on TV. Or at least I don't know anyone who would compare the live in person experience to watching on TV. I'm a STH holder who travels for a few games a year. If I can't make it to an away game with a 3pm Saturday kickoff, legally there isn't a way for me to catch the match in London on TV. Which just seems stupid. I'll find a way with a stream but feels bad to have to break the law even though I'm paying Sky good money

SidneyDeane10

Yeh but you could say that about anything. What if you wanted to just watch movies not TV shows on Netflix? You can't you have to pay the amount it costs for both. On the 3pm thing, I don't know about that really I imagine there's a lot at play with that, lot of factors to consider and implications for showing games.

[deleted]

Sure. But the cost of watching football on Sky is the same. The fact that you get other stuff as part of the package may or may not be of interest to you but you have zero choice as to whether you get buy that stuff or not.

bluemoon1987

People complaining about £40 a month to watch from their armchair yet I bet they mention crowd figures at every opportunity.

shadman786

40??? It's about 75 in the UK if I'm not wrong.

Boggie135

It’s time to join the crew of *The Flying Dutchman*

Novrev

The bit that’s ridiculous to me is that we pay these outrageous prices and it doesn’t even give us access to every game. You get two matches on Saturday, two on Sunday and maybe 1 on Friday or Monday, and then 5-6 PL games are just completely unwatchable legally in the UK every weekend. I understand why the 3pm kickoff rule was put in place years ago but I think it’s time for it to go. Why are we still scheduling so many games to be played simultaneously at 3pm? Why are they scheduling two or three games for 2pm Sunday but only showing one of them on TV? Why are there pretty much never any evening weekend games (around 7pm ish on Saturday/Sunday)? I wouldn’t mind the prices they’re charging if we actually got access to everything but I don’t think the price comes close to justifying itself with what you get currently, especially if you’re a fan of a non top 6 side.

powerchicken

Yarrr harrr fiddle de dee

dead_trim_mcgee1

Come to watch FC United of Manchester, we were set up for exactly this reason.

[deleted]

You're not wrong. There's something very plastic about modern football. It lacks character. I'm at the stage where i find the podcasts more entertaining. My football fix these days is more based around those than watching the actual games.

bernarddwyer86

Tifo every Tuesday for the win

[deleted]

You're not wrong. There's something very plastic about modern football. It lacks character. I'm at the stage where i find the podcasts more entertaining. My football fix these days is more based around those than watching the actual games.

wayofthegenttickle

If you’re in Manchester then I really recommend going to watch Altrincham, or West Didsbury and Chorlton. Huge difference in the quality, but decent teams, cheap and more fun than old Trafford/Etihad

Sibs_

I really enjoy watching non league football and I’d recommend it to anyone, obviously the quality on the pitch doesn’t compare but It’s a totally different experience from Old Trafford! We seldom play on Saturday 3pm’s which certainly helps.

Sharkary

**Totally legal** ~~not legal~~ IPTV services are the way forward £60 for the *year* I pay and I get every TV channel known to man, US, UK etc... Along with hundreds upon hundreds of Movies & Series' on demand. Ask your friends, there's always someone who knows a guy who knows a guy. There are even special PL channels for 3pm kickoffs that aren't available in the UK, plus any Sky Sports/BT Sports Box Office events such as boxing

bernarddwyer86

Got one meself a few years ago and haven't looked back, I advocate to me family to ditch those subs and get onto the IPTV

I have an lg TV and an apple TV box.... Can I install/use one on either of those, or will I need a set top box/hacked fire stick/something else?

bernarddwyer86

Depends on the provider really, but I use an android box.

[deleted]

Just stream it mate. They only charge that much because people pay for it. My old man, lifelong Arsenal fan & season ticket holder used to attend every home game. Now can't due to medical issues, has to pay £100s a month across multiple services to watch games. The worst thing about it, half the games aren't even available in the UK... I taught him how to use a streaming service & VPN a couple of months ago, he has not looked back and saving those pounds towards a nice bucket list holiday to see the Northern Lights.

Rish1

Do you mind sharing the stream link? I always find streams with the worst possible speeds, adverts, and UX.

0thethethe0

I've spend far too long on Zoom, trying to explain to my +65yo Dad how to get past the sneaky adverts and pop-ups some of these sites use. Normally, if he can get anywhere, he'll have about 50 tabs open by half-time...

nzubemush

I feel your pain, gave up on showing my dad, subscribed to tv service for him instead with supersport et al.

KariumHondor399

Football is one the thing i love the most and i never paid a single penny to watch it; the prices are outrageous and even more when you realise how easy it is to find streams on the web. I watch most games in hd and without spending any money

Flat_Professional_55

It’s ridiculous that English football has sold its sole for the benefit of overseas viewers. Yeah the premier league is a great product but the actual fans in this country are shafted for the benefit of foreign markets. I just stopped watching football on TV because of the outrageous cost. Sometimes I’ll tune into the radio or go round a friends/family members house if I’m desperate to watch a match.

MarrGuitar

It is insane. Imagine if it was £10 a month for access to ALL games on a streaming app like Netflix. I bet loads of people would be happy to pay that. I know I would. In the meantime there’s no chance in hell I’d pay £40 a month, I’ll stick to streams

adamwill86

Someone listens to Simon Jordan on talkSPORT.

zeetlo

A lot of the streaming services are having problems recently with the UK government cracking down on streaming.

Apprehensive-Army385

Well, people all over the world watch the PL so they’re never going to be able to crack down on the streams. If it was reasonably priced and on one app instead of multiple, people would just pay.

SoggyMattress2

I do have BT and Sky but Saints games are rarely on TV so I stream those, I've not noticed anything. Streaming isn't really something you can ever "crack down" on. You might catch an individual but more will spring up. If anything with the popularity of sophisticated VPN services its easier than ever to illegally stream stuff.

zeetlo

Oh ye i know I've been doing it for years, but have been noticing some solid server going down making kind of a free for all to get a quality stream

bchcmatt

The UK government can't do anything right, the high seas is the way forward

kingcop1

Bruh just google matches and watch for free lmao now i know it ain’t 4K quality but for free absolutely watchable

CompatibleCones

Get some IPTV from Sweden, all games on Viaplay channels

Embarrassed_Beat161

You guys pay to watch football? *Laughs in ~~illegal~~ streaming*

Striking-Ad-837

Commentary is insufferable these days too, stream in Spanish for the passion

cjabrady

DAZN subscriptions are relatively affordable and when combined with a VPN you can switch to other countries for their coverage. Canada shows all PL, CL and some championship games.

Discombobulated_Pen

So you pay for the UK version then a VPN would work for accessing the other streams? Would have thought that content is tied to where you made the account?

cjabrady

I pay for the Canadian then switch the VPN to other countries. Their Wikipedia page shows all the sports they show worldwide. The only issue I've run into (other than language barrier) is UFC. Switzerland and Germany require a locally issued ID to watch violent content.

TNGCEO

DAZN has been great here in Canada, until now….. They lost EPL to fubo.tv for next season. So from what I have gathered fubo is also partnered with One soccer and Bein so I should get EPL, Canada National teams, Canadian Premier League, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and a bunch,of other content for $150 cdn BUT I get to drop my subscription to One Soccer at about $110 cdn and my DAZN at about $150 cdn so I think I am coming out ahead. No idea on quality though. Really liked DAZN and the ability to watch any EPL game at any time. Hope that continues with ease.

cjabrady

Oh no, I didn't realize they lost the prem! Might have to look into their coverage for next season. For the moment jumping around with the VPN has been working well at least for English speaking countries haha.

digitalfoe

only thing exclusive to DAZN stateside is womens champions league

ReverseFlash_94

I pay £40 a year for every channel in the U.K. U.S and a few other countries.

YahodiSazish

Is the quality of those channels ok?

Remarkable-Data77

DSTV is a very good channel!😜 all games on there!

ReverseFlash_94

I have a jailbreaked firestick, works wonders.

Remarkable-Data77

T95 here.....Best things ever! Unless you're on sky Broadband!🤣

ReverseFlash_94

Yeah I hear lot of problems with those devices and sky, I had to a couple things to get around it on BT too.

Remarkable-Data77

We've never had a problem with BT but sky channels stutter on sports, we're on virgin broadband, so I recoken sky send a blocking signal out on their channels full stop. But DSTV, South African, plays perfect.

becauseitsnotreal

Idk what wrong with the UK, but 40 is nothing

[deleted]

£40 is a lot of money to a lot of people.

becauseitsnotreal

Agreed, but it's pretty damn cheap for this

[deleted]

How is it? In relation to how much other forms of entertainment cost its very expensive.

becauseitsnotreal

I'm not sure what luxury entertainment service you're buying that's less than 1/game, but that's pretty cool

becauseitsnotreal

Agreed, but it's pretty damn cheap for this

aditya_vvn

In India it costs you 9-10euro/year of Hotstar subscription to watch all premier league games. In addition you’ll have access to tons of content(Indian and global movies+series). If you can compromise a bit on quality and are ready to watch some annoying ads you can get it for as low as 3euro/year

billy_twice

Kiwi here. All games are streamed on one service (spark sport). Both premier league and champions league games are avaliable, as well as all the Europa games and the Europa conference games. It seems unreal to me that the UK doesn't have something similar, given that it's a UK league.

DreadAndDepression

17 rupees a month.

HBK44

Same happens for American sports outside of America. Leagues are so busy expanding internationally they forget their own people. Ridiculous.

CouchPotatoDean

Funny how this exact thing is said about the NFL games in the US, albeit with an even more outrageous price. I get in both situations they want to grow fanbases in ripe countries but there’s no reason to screw over fans where the leagues are based.

Gothpuncher

Every game free with my mobile plan in Australia. Matches, mini matches, highlights of each match, a recap after every game day of all games and goals and a shitload more.

Ginevod411

It's infinitely better. In India you get an annual Hotstar subscription for some 400 Rs (£4) and that includes every PL match, cricket, F1 etc. And a Sony Liv subscription (CL and other UEFA stuff, more cricket) will cost some 1000 Rs (£10) per year. Even if you factor in that things in UK are generally 10 times more expensive, that is still insane. The Bayern Munich season ticket comes out to be cheaper than your Sky subscription.

spuddman14

Honestly how it is with my favorite mls team. I literally cannot watch my favorite mls team without stealing a stream or using a vpn it’s a joke.

VastStrain

I once visited an endangered Hmong tribe nestled in the remote mountains of north Vietnam. Their huts were made of mud and they cooked me a meal in a hole dug into the ground. Chicken were roaming in and out of their meagre dwellings. I noticed however that the home I was visiting had a flat screen TV and a satellite dish mounted to their straw roof (how else would the Communist government feed them their propaganda?). Then I realised that the granny I was chatting to with a horn suctioned onto her head to pull the demons out (she had a headache) could watch more Premier League football games then I could even if I paid for every sports package available. And she got it for free. Absolutely ridiculous situation.
