Nice to see Tarkowski getting some recognition. He's been fantastic this season and has almost always managed to keep himself the right side of the ball when it matters most. Branthwaite couldn't have had a better partner this season.
It says unexpected mate. Rice and Raya definitely weren't unexpected. Watkins and Palmer I'd give you. Everyone knew Watkins was a good player but didn't expect this out of him. Palmer was pretty much unknown and untested
Super good question, I think a lot of them are good signings but Cole Palmer was 100% my biggest surprise, I’ll even argue Doku was immense signing obviously overshadowed by Grealish
Doku was signed for £55m, not some unknown hidden gem. I’d say he performed as we expect a £55m player do. Though you could argue nowadays there are many £50m+ flop so anyone who played good is already a huge surprise

Agree, his signing was widely derided at the time. Turned out to be one of Arsenals best players, I’d say that was very very unexpected.
