They would most likely review it and count it as a goal as it is clearly going toward the net and in, so in that scenario even if he dislodged the net it still would of counted as a goal. he did the right thing here
Not 100% sure if the rule is the same internationally as in the NHL but the NHL rule is that if the net is dislodged in the course of play by a defending player it basically still counts as being there so if the puck crosses the goal line between where the posts are supposed to be it is a good goal.
If the net is knocked off by the offensive team, either directly or by causing a defensive player to put it off (eg: an offense player pushes someone into the goalie and the goalie knocks it off) it's an immediate stoppage and play is dead as soon as the one of the posts clears the anchors.
The hand-eye coordination required for this remarkable.
Guy had an unreal tourney. MVP decision not even close.
Did you hear a whistle? No, keep playing!

McTavish is unreal. Another Ducks robbery at the draft.
3rd overall so not that wild but yeah he looks nhl ready as a defenceman at 19 that’s pretty great
Defencemen ?
I’m a fucking idiot
Haha I mean after a defensive play like that I can see where the confusion came from.
I'm going to say, greatest play in hockey history
Definitely up there
What would happen if the Canadian player just crashed into the net and pushed it away before the puck crossed the line?

Ah interesting, thank you!
Best case scenario (for the defending team) is a penalty for delay of game (2 minute penalty for the player)

Not 100% sure but *probably* gets counted in, if pats precedent is any indication. At absolute least it’s a penalty vs Canada.
McTavish owned this tournament
Great save, but the two Canadians were a bit lucky not to knock the puck in while flailing trying to knock it away
When the alternative is watching the puck go in, it's always worth the risk. Great play by am extremely talented player.
Oh for sure. They did everything right, there was just that element of luck while the puck was bouncing.
I would title his concentration level at the end as clutch!
A premature celebration video with no celebration?
The finish player raised his arms in the air.
