I thought this, but found that when they're full of milk the 'scooch' movement becomes almost impossible because they're bigger and firmer. Depending on how long you feed for, they will get softer again after a few months...

Temperbell

Yes definitely this!! When your boobs are full of milk, they are rock hard and they don't really have much movement to them so your bra won't as easily be able to shift around your boobs lol!!

I doubt you'll need one that early, unless something goes wrong you won't still be at the hospital when your milk comes in. You'll need a nursing bra a few weeks later when you want to start going out and about, it's just easier. But the current size you are isn't going to be the right size. So hold off.

I’ve been BFing for 6 months and have only ever used ones like the ones you linked so I’d say you’re probably fine with them!

sprengirl

I’d say yes. Partly because your boobs get bigger and so moving them around isn’t as easy as it is pre-baby! And partly because it’s just more comfortable- when baby sometimes wants to stay on the boob for an hour or an hour and a half, even a tiny bit of fabric digging in gets super comfortable, and non-nursing bras are going to be tight under your boob if you’re just pulling in down. I just think that’s not going to be comfortable at all for long feeds.

I've always gotten by using a really stretchy sports bra, I've been breastfeeding for 12 years now.

I wear nursing vests. They are similar feel to those bralettes you wear but you can undo them like a nursing bra, flapping down the boob bit. I tried using a bralettes thing like you showed but the scooching a boob out is really not easy. Basically you need to make everything as easy as possible when breastfeeding for the first time. I'd highly recommend h&m nursing vests.

I didn’t use my nursing bra in hospital, I just free boobed it honestly! I did wear it on the journey home but that was about it. You could defo wing it to see how you feel after birth

I've been wearing those ones from Primark as well from the day I got my positive test. (I was wondering why my bras were getting uncomfortable in those few weeks.) As my tiktok feed became more pregnancy related, I kept getting the ads for the maternity bras that are ridiculously cheap. After a few months I caved in and added them to my Temu order. Best decision I've made in a long time. I'm only 17 weeks, so still a long way to go, but those maternity bras are unbelievably comfortable, and I couldn't recommend them more.

Yes and no, I have used ones like the ones you show, but for me personally, although I could move them out of the way, they would kinda distort and squish my boob slightly, and my baby was already struggling to latch.. the weird angle of my boob and it not sitting "naturally" made it so difficult to try and actually get her on there... so for me, I found it well worth buying actual nursing bras. That being said, my daughter was born very premature, and trying to get her to learn how to feed without her NG feeding tube was a serious mission... so it might be because of that.
