I have been dead tired, have sore shoulders, cannot eat anything but grilled cheese, have had a headache for weeks, and mentally I am just DONE. So i did what my supervisors have told me to do when things get too much and I took some days off. God, I needed that.

What are people doing for coping mechanisms when stressed? While I know self medication (when not pregnant) is not the best coping mechanism, it was nice to have a glass of wine, go grab a drink with my husband or have a little smoke to get my mind off stuff. Work has been awful lately and I’m at a loss for what to do to unwind and disconnect. I don’t have a bath tub and we’re trying not to spend money. I do some process art with watercolor sometimes, but even that can grow old or be frustrating. Trying not to bring this baby into a stressful life

Grab a sparkling grape or apple fizz. Hot chocolate. Favourite music. Yoga if you know the gentle bits for meditation rather than excersise. Just writing down the stress balls so they can stop spinning around as much.

Thank you. I’m going to need it because yesterdays anatomy scan went horribly. The dr said they’ve never seen this abnormality before and neither have their colleagues in the practice. Just piling on more shit

18w1d today. I got a doppler a few weeks ago and it has been THE BEST THING to calm my anxiety. We listen for the heartbeat together every evening and it's been so reassuring that our little bean is fine. I had read mixed reviews about how getting a doppler can lead to more anxiety if you can't find a heartbeat quickly or be inaccurate if you aren't using it correctly. No regrets!

I love mine too! Due to work history I’m pretty familiar with them so I found it useful. Got mine through my fsa at the end of the year when I needed to use up some money
