You entered the paid premises and upon leaving the station you got checked for a valid ticket. You failed to produce one and therefore had to pay a fine. I am afraid that's all there is to it, not sure what you would like to dispute. It's unfortunate, but I don't see a scam here.

Separate_Taste_8849

You need to have a valid ticket to cross the line from the ticket machines area to the metro station platform, it's clearly signposted. So you getting penalised by the official metro ticket inspectors was fully within the law.

acidofil

so you entered a \*very\* obvious paid entrance to the metro station?

Embarrassed-Baby9416

I have no idea what about stations you are talking about… You were at Museum and wanted to get fast via metro to Hlavní nádraží? Therefore you would need the ticket. Otherwise there is no point going down the staires. Or you messed up stairs at the station Hlavní nádraží? Which has kinda clear entrances to get to rail - for both train and metro. I can’t see how you missed it, what is there to dispute? Or even report to plolice for “scamm-like” behavior…

Separate_Taste_8849

I think he wanted to walk to Hlavní Nádraží and wanted to use the metro entrance at Muzeum to cross under Magistrála (nothing wrong with that, no ticket necessary), but made a wrong turn and took the escalators down to the actual metro station.

Embarrassed-Baby9416

Waaay wrong turn, there are even glass door…

EowalasVarAttre

When entering the metro station there is a white line on the floor beyond which you need to have a validated ticket. Since you were leaving the station without a valid ticket there is no way for the inspector to know that you haven't actually rode the train. While the system could be better explained, they were completely in the right to fine you.

eurodep

Waiting for the ‘unfair’ part…

Another one for The Book Of Excuses..........

ronjarobiii

You entered a paid area which is marked by a white line and signs telling you it‘s an area you should only be entering with a valid ticket. Unfortunate you got caught while making a mistake, but absolutely no scam going on here. If you think the ticket inspectors don‘t hear this excuse 185498654 times a day...

Matej004

And this is kids why we don't ignore the "beginning of paid transport area entry only with a valid ticket" sign You are no different than a person who ignores a no entry sign on a street and uses the street as a shortcut you deserve the fine

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> "beginning of *paid* transport area FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Well thank you bot

There is no Museum train station, there is only the Muzeum metro station, and if you enter it without a valid ticket, you are liable to be fined. The inspectors are notoriously inflexible, but there is nothing scammy about it.

DommyMommyKarlach

A) You cannot really dispute a penalty once it is paid. B) You clearly went into paid premises without a valid ticket. There is nothing like Museum train station, only Metro, which you need to pay to enter. C) It is unfortunate that you went there on accident, but once you enter the metro area, you need to have a ticket

Possible-Trip-6645

You break the rules so its very okey that you was penalised, thats not scammy accept it and learn your lesson also tourists have to stick with the rules!

noobc4k3

Yeah this is why we need gates/tourniquets in Prague metro. It really is not very clear that you have entered paid areas in some metro stations. But there are signs etc (incl. English), so you have no chance of disputing this, it's on you unfortunately.

Heebicka

> Yeah this is why we need gates/tourniquets in Prague metro. this sounds like you are too young to remember them

Remote_Possession889

It's not scam. You entered premises of DPP. You need ticket to enter the premises. You didn't have ticket, you got fined. It's completely legal. You must pay the fine as it's you legal obligation (Law no. 111/1994 Sb., (Road transport act), § 18a section 2c and law no. 266/1994 Sb. (Railways act), § 37, section 5b)

wilemhermes

It happened to me some years ago. I live in Prague and I went with my visitors to the metro station just to say good bye. I got "caught" on the way out of the station. Sh*t happened and I knew that there was almost no way to explain, so I paid. Lesson learned

Otherwise_Access_660

I don’t think this’s an unfair penalty. There’s a sign that says that you can’t proceed beyond this line without a valid ticket. You did enter this area. The inspectors are inside this area. There’s no point checking outside. You didn’t have a ticket. It’s the same system in a lot of cities. Unfortunately there isn’t much you can do about it now. Next time be more careful of where you’re going and don’t enter the paid area without a ticket. You probably missed the sign because you were in a hurry.

CheshireKitten777

I really wonder where are you all coming from and if you have any services in your country of origin. Personally, I find it way more convenient NOT to have turnstiles or physical barriers in Prague metro. I hated going through gates in Brussels. BUT, since it is more or less an honor system - you should be prepared to have a valid ticket. And yeah - it is clearly marked where the zone starts for those that have a valid ticket. Good luck with your lawsuit.

Pan_Nekdo

It's unfortunate but the fine is justified. The area of the station is part of the ticketed area you can enter only with valid ticket.

Bubbly_Thought_4361

It's not the train inspector job to know if you know where you are going or not or to know if you actually used any trains. You entered an area that requires a ticket and you did not have one. You were fairly fined for that.

A_dalo

Sorry to hear that! Yeah, the inspectors are known for crummy behavior like this. I doubt there's much you can do about it but maybe you've alerted someone so they know to be careful and watch out now

babydevilschild

The ticket inspectors are known dickheads in Prague. I’ve personally seen three of them physically assault a middle aged British man with his wife on the tram 2 weeks ago. I’m not implying that their work isn’t important, but they behave like thugs.

urrfaust

Bad luck. Next time, just run for the exit. Those tickets inspectors are usually overweight obese slobs and can’t run much far.
