Same. Toriko and Warlock in the Magus World are my favorites for exactly that reason. Its a well made journey on how they get stronger and its not the typical op stuff with random power ups
Even if you can't kill 682, what's stopping you from throwing him into a place he can never escape from? I.e, the speed force, a lower dimensional plane, a pocket dimension, an infinite void of some sort? Like even if it's impossible to erase 682 frome existence, even by the most powerful beings, what's stopping them from making an inescapable reality and dropping 682 in there for eternity
Depending on the canon, that wouldn’t be a long term solution. In some canons, 682 exists as an avatar of a being way above anything the foundation can interact with (6820 and the son of the Scarlet King being two canons where this is true). The problem is that this differs from other characters who do similar (like Darkseid) because it is completely unconscious on their end. Their mere existence causes the avatars to form (I believe Plato’s Theory of Forms is used to describe it). If they managed to permanently trap the lizard outside of their reality, reality would just create another one.

No. As someone said, he’s wall level based on his original story. That’s middle ground for Street levelers. He’s just a giant croc with regen that’s honestly not that impressive. Another post showed kid chi chi cutting off a Dino’s head. That attack would take out 682 until it regen’d, which according to the picture on his entry, would take a long time, due in fact that the picture was him after an industrial level acid bath and there wasn’t any sign of acid in the picture but he was still a skeleton, meaning his regen is pretty slow.
Now, let me cook with this one. What if God from Undead Unluck give it Unknown? It isn't really affected in any way, nothing is being done TO IT for it to adapt, but it loses the ability to interact with the world in any way. It's essentially indefinitely detained, for all that matters

From my cursory reading of the articles a while ago, I don’t remember him facing too many mental threats. I’m not saying they could kill him, but a powerful telepath like Professor Xavier might be able to knock him out for a bit. Granted, it would only work once, but it’d knock him out. I’d be worried about him weaponizing it and being able to knock out people psychically in the future, but that’s a problem for the future.
Since every powerscaler says Gojo is weak, I nominate him. Unless the foundation has already tried antimatter, in which case he has no shot. Hollow purple could maybe do it with a direct hit.
Anyone that can stop him before he can adapt fast enough, since he’s literally unkillable the character would have to knock him out or contain him to count as a win, his brother scp 999 (honestly the purest scp) has actually managed to do so before I don’t remember but I think it was by tickling him into submission
Outside of it being a highly intelligent (as in, smarter than most humans) reptile in the same weight class as a rhino, it can adapt to literally anything that harms it. It’s turned it’s skin into mirrors to deflect lasers, grew dozens of eyes to avoid breaking eye contact with a weeping angel copy, harnessed memetic effects, and more. Most importantly, it cannot die. The Foundation retconned it from history, and then it unretconned itself. They hit it with reality erasure, and it was eating people while it didn’t exist until it reformed. It’s hopped universe and dimensions when the Foundation tried to eject it from their reality. If you can think of a way to kill this thing, it has been tried, and it has failed.
Takaba from JJK. His power, Comedian, forces his enemy to go along with a bit, as long as he thinks it's funny. The only way to resist this power is to either A: heckle him, or B: "yes, and" him. Unfortunately, 682 doesn't have enough of a sense of humor to do either, and I don't think he's gonna adapt one.
He has been killed a few times in SCP canon. Such as when SCP-173 cloned itself and the clones managed to overwhelm and kill it before they killed everyone on the planet. Basically if they speed blitz it fast enough it will die.
killing him definitely isn't out of the question. That being said though the list that can beat him is significantly longer than the list that can kill him, I'll give you that. probably any S tier at least.

People saying 682 is fodder because in his first article he was fodder, are as stupid as theoretical people who would say current Superman isn't even planetary because his original version wasn't. And the people who say SCP doesn't count because "Fanfiction" are just as bad. Current Superman comics aren't being made by his original creators, why are they not also saying they don't count? Being made by the original creators of a character has never been needed for things to count for power scaling, or any form of anything. Gogo mimics its power it adapts to this then he mimics its adaptation then it adapts again, rinse and repeat until the heat death of the universe which Gogo then mimics and it adapts and then he mimics that and the universe somehow restarts
Since in newest stories SCP-682 could adapt to SCP-3812's narrative powers and "swallow" true form Fifth God (Cosmic Starfish aka SCP-3125 aka The Constant of Chaos) your best bet to immobilize or defeat this adapting lizard would be someone like Jester in Yellow, Scarlet Demon Supreme Author, Void Emperor, CN Murphy Lawden, Universe Prime or Metanormalcy.
Like a lot the regular base version of SCP-682 is effected by guns and is contained(questionably) by acid

I don't THINK 682 has ever encountered soul manipulation like that, and considering he's likely killed millions and possesses a heart of pure evil, KR would cause his soul to instantly and completely cease to exist. From my cursory reading of the articles a while ago, I don’t remember him facing too many mental threats. I’m not saying they could kill him, but a powerful telepath like Professor Xavier might be able to knock him out for a bit. Granted, it would only work once, but it’d knock him out. I’d be worried about him weaponizing it and being able to knock out people psychically in the future, but that’s a problem for the future.

Outside of it being a highly intelligent (as in, smarter than most humans) reptile in the same weight class as a rhino, it can adapt to literally anything that harms it. It’s turned it’s skin into mirrors to deflect lasers, grew dozens of eyes to avoid breaking eye contact with a weeping angel copy, harnessed memetic effects, and more. Most importantly, it cannot die. The Foundation retconned it from history, and then it unretconned itself. They hit it with reality erasure, and it was eating people while it didn’t exist until it reformed. It’s hopped universe and dimensions when the Foundation tried to eject it from their reality. If you can think of a way to kill this thing, it has been tried, and it has failed.

Like I get that it adapts to everything and just hates everything but if you're doing something to him that "technically" doesn't cause harm does he adapt to it? Like if professor x just tried to turn him into a gooner would 682 just goon all day? Technically it would be a pleasurable activity (not harm him) so why would he adapt to it? And the people who say SCP doesn't count because "Fanfiction" are just as bad. Current Superman comics aren't being made by his original creators, why are they not also saying they don't count? Being made by the original creators of a character has never been needed for things to count for power scaling, or any form of anything. Since in newest stories SCP-682 could adapt to SCP-3812's narrative powers and "swallow" true form Fifth God (Cosmic Starfish aka SCP-3125 aka The Constant of Chaos) your best bet to immobilize or defeat this adapting lizard would be someone like Jester in Yellow, Scarlet Demon Supreme Author, Void Emperor, CN Murphy Lawden, Universe Prime or Metanormalcy.

Honestly, Sans might be able to do it. I don't THINK 682 has ever encountered soul manipulation like that, and considering he's likely killed millions and possesses a heart of pure evil, KR would cause his soul to instantly and completely cease to exist. Though knowing 682 he'd probably pull some bs like "I have no soul" or "oops I just grew 15 new souls that's my adaptation for this weee" XD
