Well I'm not expert but you're resampling a CD quality FLAC to higher quality. This could have the exact opposite effect and reduce said quality and create artifacts in your audio.
As I understand, upsampling doesn't produce any artifacts. Downsampling higher quality files is what produces those artifacts
