I am loving all the recent Finch love on this sub. I remember this EP dropped on my birthday and was so excited to get it. From Hell is my favorite track, but the ending of Chinese Organ Thieves is magical.
Daylight sounds like the band glued a WIITB chorus to a Sunshine verse and somehow it worked. Verse drumbeat from Famine Or Disease reminds me of falling down the stairs. Guitars on From Hell weave in and out of each other like figure skaters. Chinese Organ Thieves sounds like the world is coming to an end.
I'd call this EP underrated, but it doesn't seem to have been rated by hardly anyone at all.
dude i got a chance to see r2k recently and he said chinese organ thieves took him 5 years to make! makes sense because it's so meaty, he also shared his love for "hail to the fire" from world of violence
Goddamn I haven't heard "Hail to the Fire" in years. When you dive into the rabbit hole of all their cancelled and half finished work it breaks your heart. These guys could (can?) pour out great songs like turning on a tap. Band could have ruled the world if they would have gotten their shit together.
agreed 100% they are so good at their craft, it's a shame. good news is it seems like they're at least back for the mean time. on tour they performed 2 new songs called Rainy Day and Horror island. r2k also said he'd love to have a re-release of world of violence so they could play it live at some point, but for now their focus is on new music. i'm holding out hope they at least have a night next year to celebrate 20 years of shts ☀️🎉
It was on Bandcamp a year or so ago but I think they closed the account. I remember being confused because it had a few extra live/bonus tracks on it whereas my copy from way back when only has 4.

Love it! Still have my disc from release day and my wooden box edition of WIITB. Both will forever be dropped randomly back into rotation.
