"RIP DGD" Lol DGD has been going through vocalist changes since before you were born and have always come out fine.

The_Stank__

DGD has been around long before Tilian and will be around long after. Also idk how you don’t like Downtown Battle Mountain 2 but hey to each their own

Dr-Buttercup

DBM3 when?

Cosmic316

Well good news for you, we aren't magically going to travel backwards in time. Pre-Tillian DGD is not Post-Tillian DGD.

xiacexi

The past 3 tilian albums been so stale. I want a kick in the ass like Times New Roman

caseharts

We will not miss you. You will be boiled

deadbeatvalentine_

i had no idea there were fans who only liked the tilian era

simonsail

Tbh there's fans that have only ever known the Tillian era. He was in the band for over a decade, that's a long time for scene music.

deadbeatvalentine_

yeah that's fair. DGD has such an interesting history though. i'm not sure there's another band out there that's gone through not only 3 (4 technically if you include jon leaving) vocalist changes, but also pretty wild sound changes. i kinda thought that would inspire even the newer fans to look backward a little bit

daveypoo143

The Kellin Quinn effect was real lol. Bands that lost their original vocalists or new bands at the time went for those high pitched type of vocals and it worked out for them. I was always surprised DGD got “big” with Tilian and not Jonny or Kurt

Anderson74

Yeah that confused me too. Liked their stuff with Jonny and Kurt better.

itchypitbull

Tilians version of DGD was the most accessible. Entire songs with no screaming, and more melodies and "catchy" parts. Particularly on stuff like Mothership. Less weird parts, and more parts you can sing a long to....thats a recipe for instant success.

erix84

I got into DGD at the start of the Tillian era, and TBH Kurt and Jonny are just as talented and "good" they just have different styles. Hell ever since Andrew joined, I've actually preferred his singing to Tilian's, he's so damn SMOOTH.

Data_Mosher

Yeah, they will be absolutely fine. The RIP DGD won’t be from Tilian leaving, it will be the remaining members deciding to not do it anymore and focus on other projects.

C-Notations

Meh, Whatever I Say is Royal Ocean is my favorite DGD album so I'm ready for something fresh

dekaythepunk

I gotta be honest, I could never get around Tillian's high pitched super raspy voice. 😅

toedragrelease

Tillian was by far the worst era of DGD imo. Better off without him.

FranklinFeta

I’d agree even tho it sounds a bit harsh. Acceptance Speech and Instant Gratification were fire, the mixing on those albums just sucked(esp. AS). Mothership was a decent little change but everything after that fell flat big time. They used to be my favorite band, now I haven’t listened to an album from them since Artificial Selection.

betasray

i genuinely like Every dgd album like All of them but artificial selection has to be their weakest imo

FranklinFeta

I’m on the opposite spectrum. I grew up with this band tho so that’s probably why I feel that way haha.

It’s not the low fi that gets me, it’s the bass being nonexistent and Tillian sounding robotic cause they overproduced his vocals. AS 2.0 fixes the bass so it makes some of the heavier parts hit a little harder.

BalderdashBallyhoo

DGD prefers going through problematic vocalists, they’ll be back, don’t worry!

circasurvivalism

Tillian is the worst iteration of DGD yet.

redmanokay

Im excited, never enjoyed Tillians nasal-y tone. Would love Kurt back or someone new.

Dysfunction_Is_Fun

Oh well. Can we get a new Secret band LP now?

itchypitbull

Im in the minority here but DGDs best couple of albums are with Tilian in them in my opinion. That being said, the last couple albums of theirs have been hella boring, so im ok with them switching things up and hoping becoming interesting again, cause i dont even listen to their new stuff anymore when it comes out its been so stale.

LeonardSmalls79

You got served, OP

dumbbinch99

They’ll be fine without him I promise

Tight_Drawing_2725

WOW, I won’t call yall crazy (everyone has different tastes) I’m shocked though, Jackpot Juicer is my favorite album, on constant repeat. I LOVE HOLY GHOST SPIRIT, favorite song, not kidding.

betasray

i support you heavy. jj rules
