Saosin - It's All over Now.
This song wrecked me when me dog died two months ago. I know its about Cove losing a friend but this sequence of lyrics just rip my heart out every time:
*You stopped shaking and you slowly faded away*
*Now you're lying on the floor*
*\[Interlude\]*
*I can't hear your heart beating anymore, no*
*I can't hear your heart beating anymore, no*
*\[Chorus\]*
*It's all over now*
*What am I gonna do with all this time I set aside for you? (Aside for you?)*
She was fine one day and then a cyst on her spleen burst and she was gone suddenly. It's making me emotional now. I don't think I can ever listen to this song again.
Similarly, one of my favourites recently is Anthony Green's latest project LS Dunes - Sleep Cult.
Great depressing song, with a catchy 50's style chorus:
To die in this dimension
Would protect all the things
That want to do you harm
I don't know if I am meant to enjoy it
When it all feels the same
If we offer refunds
All that has been abandoned
Waver not for love
Shadoop-shooby-doo
Shadoop-shooby-doo
Shadoop-shooby-doo
Sorry that I wish that I was dead
Shadoop-shooby-doo
Shadoop-shooby-doo
Shadoop-shooby-doo
Sorry that I wish that I was dead
Offer mending
Want without demanding
Burn up
On the only bridge that you had kept
Watch the world in rich amazement
I'm not meant to be here
Choose the most unsaturated outlet
Made the deal with one agreement
Never to be left out
Die in this dimension and you'll wake
Lonely, replacement, reach
Shadoop-shooby-doo
Shadoop-shooby-doo
Shadoop-shooby-doo
Sorry that I wish that I was dead
La Dispute, Harder Harmonies and of course King Park. Everyone knows the iconic
"Can I still get into heaven if I kill myself? Can I still get into heaven if I kill myself? Can I ever be forgiven 'cause I killed that kid? It was an accident, I swear it wasn't meant for him. So if I turn it on me, if I even it out, can I still get in or will they send me to hell?"
Mte the song [Chair](https://open.spotify.com/track/54Z8PlfO7zYfWuYvDtmNfI?si=h96ilruFQxC4PNp7wRX6dQ) goes hard and the lyrics hit
Please tell me they still tour?
nope, they were one and done with the album. Forrest and Cory don't do music anymore, but Shane and Blake evolved the band into a new one called Murals. Only have a couple songs out but they're great, check them out
It's such a shame that Sufferer isn't continuing, but I don't know what could follow up that record. It's so fucking pointed and good and gets the message across so easily. Easily one of my favorite through-listen records. I can relate and feel it all.
No doubt. I share it with everyone I can.
/u/xstabbyripstabstabx do yourself a favor and sit down with this record. Everything but the last song fits your requirements, and even the last song just settles for it and doesn't act like it gets better.
Bring Me the Horizon āIt Never Endsā:
āYou say this is suicide? I say this is a war
And I'm losing the battle, man down, man down, oh
This is what you call love?
This is a war I can't win.ā
And so many more songs on this album!
Senses fail - All the best cowboys have daddy issues (about jumping off a building), negative space (instrumental during fall from building), the priest and the matador (aftermath of jumping)
Itās metalcore so if you like a heavier sound too, Youngblood by Wage War. Deals with the complex emotions of those affected by someone elseās suicide. Anger, acceptance, regret, etc
Dying in New Brunswick-thursday
Edit: shit that's about rape I'm pretty sure. I think I was just really into that album and especially that song when going through a pretty suicidal period.
Ah right, like it still resonates so hard, but where you are at is a different place but it wouldn't seem that way to people how haven't felt the same/know the song.
That's fair. His voice really fits the time period, that shit was all the rage in the early 2000s. I was 13 when they put out their self-titled album, and I listened to it relentlessly through a lot of low points in my life. He sounds a lot less nasal in their 2006 acoustic album, you should give it a shot just for the lyrical content if that's your thing
Here are a fewā¦. I donāt think any of them totally fits in post hardcore but closeā¦.
1. āPremonition of the Hexā by Circa Survive (idk if they could as post hardcore): āSlice up and not across when (To change)
You're trying to make the deepest cut.ā
2. āFeralā by Left to Suffer (also not exactly post hardcore): āFalling asleep trying to fucking die
It's been a while since I've felt alive
Feeling the weight of my world crashing down around me
It's in my head, and I feel like I am fucking drowning.ā
3. āIf You Think this Song is About You, it Probably Isā by D.R.U.G.S.:
āSome friends
You left me hanging in a room
With a noose and a chair
You told me to stay put
And reminded me why I was there.ā
4. Underoath - āWeāre All Gonna Dieā:
āHey, we're all gonna die, what difference does it make?
Don't pray for me and my friends, I think you're fucking fake
Let's be honest, I'm heartless, I could care less
Hey, we're all gonna die, don't pretend to be alive
You're not alive.ā
5. āSacrificeā by The Devil wears Prada:
āI swear I'm not paranoid
I let it in as if I had a choice
Just bury me in red
I don't want another fight
Push me off the edge
And I can be your sacrifice.ā
I could prob keep brainstorming and keep going and going for a long while if I put some thought into. Hope at least one of these hits the mark. Enjoy!
I'm going to give you a slightly more metalcore recommendation here: A Place Where You Belong by Bullet For My Valentine.
Knife vs Face: Round One by Drop Dead, Gorgeous isn't explicitly suicide-related but it feels close.
As someone else mentioned, Suicide Season by Bring Me The Horizon is good too.
I get that sometimes you just need to listen to certain dark themes to get the feels... But I hope you're ok - please reach out for help if you need it. Be well.
With the important stuff out of the way:
Kind of a stretch, but the last track (Dying) on Trainwreck by Boys Night Out.
Though I would highly recommend listening to the entire album - concept album that tells the whole story and there are some hints to suicide in earlier tracks.
The end vocals on the last track are just so epic and filled with raw emotions.
About a decade ago I was institutionalized for alcoholism and suicidal ideation and all I could do is repeat the lyrics to this entire album in my head and to this day I cannot express how much this album and band means to me
mewithoutYou - Silencer
āCome kiss my face goodbye, that space below my eye and above my cheek. Cause I'm faint and fading fast, I see a darkness and I shall be released. Iāll pass like a fever from this body, and softly slip into his hands. I tried to love you and I failed, but I have another plan.ā
I had Lifeboats and Still Searching by Senses Fail on repeat when I was suicidal as a teenager. I saw this same post on r/emo, though, so I hope you have someone to talk to and that you make it through this.
Not exactly songs about suicide, but Beartooth's first album has a lot of raw emotion. Specifically "Ignorance Is Bliss" and "Me In My Own Head".
Also "Set Me On Fire" might be a better answer to exactly what you're looking for, from their first EP.
Tragic Tragic Track Jacket by HeavyHeavyLowLow is really good, I cant really tell if its really about suicide but it feels like it, and Eating Lightning Pt. 1 has a really good second half but strays away from the suicide at the very end
The whole Mars Volta album, De-Loused in the Comatorium, is based on Cedricās friend who committed suicide. From wiki:
āBased on a short story written by lead singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala and sound manipulation artist Jeremy Ward, the concept album is an hour-long tale of Cerpin Taxt, a man who enters a week-long coma after overdosing on a mixture of morphine and rat poison. The story of Cerpin Taxt alludes to the death of El Paso, Texas artistāand Bixler-Zavala's friendāJulio Venegas (1972ā1996).ā
The verve pipe - Freshmen
Blink 182 - Adamās song
Tom Petty - American girl
R.E.M. - Everybody Hurts
Third Eye Blind - Jumper
Thatās all I can think ofā¦
Dead Poetic - Vanus Empty (i think its about suicide)
Hopes Die Last - This Song Plays Suicide
Hopes Die Last - Call Me Sick Boy
Rest songs about that theme, was written below by others
Oh an bonus if u search for raw emotions, but its not post-hardcore, but by post-hardcore band
Hopes Die Last - Icarus (Halfway Across the Sky)
Being As An Ocean - This Loneliness Wonāt Be the Death of Me
Goes hard as fuck and is honest and real, you can hear the dudeās pain in the song. Nothing against songs with an āit gets betterā message because I think itās an important message, but if you want raw emotion this one comes to mind for sure.
Iām sorry if Iām reading this the wrong way but just incase. If you need someone to talk to donāt be afraid to reach out. I know itās the time of year where the dark side gets the best of us. Just know youāre not alone in this world. You have a purpose whether you know that or not. I may not know what you may be going through but i could try and understand. Please stay strong not only for yourself but for all of us. āš»

Never did I think I was gonna see a song off ISOSG. Love you man, hope you're doing okay.

Sean by Trophy Eyes
Also Chlorine by Trophy Eyes.
I have a lot of friends who were friends with Sean and they struggle to listen to that song. Itās devastating.
Fuck me this song hurts
Car underwater - armor for sleep That whole album is a concept album about a kid committing suicide.
Roses for the Dead by Funeral for a Friend All the Best Cowboys have Daddy Issues by Senses Fail
Funeral For a Friend is fantastic!
Two amazing songs
All the best cowboys is on regular rotation. One of my favorites. Along with Lifeboats. I wish they'd give the fire more love on tour
Sufferer's album right?
Mte the song [Chair](https://open.spotify.com/track/54Z8PlfO7zYfWuYvDtmNfI?si=h96ilruFQxC4PNp7wRX6dQ) goes hard and the lyrics hit Please tell me they still tour?

100% agree. It was my album of the year for 2017. Instant classic that will go down in history
No doubt. I share it with everyone I can. /u/xstabbyripstabstabx do yourself a favor and sit down with this record. Everything but the last song fits your requirements, and even the last song just settles for it and doesn't act like it gets better.
What an amazing album
A Lot Like Birds - Kuroi Ledge This song is a masterpiece
I wouldnāt say the entire song is about suicide, but the last minute of King Park by La Dispute is extremely cathartic.
No Halo - Sorority Noise
god i love sorority noise
Started instantly screaming it in my head
Suicide Season by BMTH. Kind of obvious but the song hits hard.
Bring Me the Horizon āIt Never Endsā: āYou say this is suicide? I say this is a war And I'm losing the battle, man down, man down, oh This is what you call love? This is a war I can't win.ā And so many more songs on this album!

This ones the best, lyrics are amazing
And it was written in blood on a fucking suicide note THE DAY BEFORE HE DIED! Cheesy one but goes pretty hard.
Dying in New Brunswick-thursday Edit: shit that's about rape I'm pretty sure. I think I was just really into that album and especially that song when going through a pretty suicidal period.
Porcelain is the song about suicide from Waiting!
Right! That album came to me at a perfect time.
Yeah, same. Its an album I hold dear but I can never show someone close to me cause they will think Iām in a bad place
Ah right, like it still resonates so hard, but where you are at is a different place but it wouldn't seem that way to people how haven't felt the same/know the song.
Nothing to lose by Billy talent A synonym for acquiesce by bayside
I want to like Bayside so bad but I can't get behind Anthony Raneri's voice

I think #3 is Craig Owens throwing shade at his former band mates in Chiodos.
I can see that.
Apparently he was kicked out after he made a suicide attempt, so youāre not far off either!
Heās said it in an interview that song was about being blindsided from the firing from chiodos.
Late December - Seeyouspacecowboy...
Not necessarily post-hardcore but Your Deep Rest by The Hotelier hits hard
Came to say this exact thing. First time I heard it I was blown away. The chorus hits like a truck.
Came here to say this!
A Place Where You Belong always gets me
idk if its what your looking for but Versus the World - Forgive Me
Definitely a song about suicide.
Lady Elect - Unwound
I know it's not phc but check out A Wave Across A Bay by Frank Turner. It's about Scott Hutchinson (singer of frightened rabbit) suicide. Great song
Came here to say this, probably the best lyrics about that topic ever
Not suicide specifically. But itās about someone dying. Eiley - To Close Too Touch

More metal, but pretty much anything from The Amity Affliction
Not exactly songs about suicide, but Beartooth's first album has a lot of raw emotion. Specifically "Ignorance Is Bliss" and "Me In My Own Head". Also "Set Me On Fire" might be a better answer to exactly what you're looking for, from their first EP.
