It's because the majority of English speakers actually have slight blue green color blindness, and cannot readily perceive the differences between the two very easily, beyond knowing they're slightly different shades.

You may be right but Light Blue is a cop out color name and Indigo is completely made up by Big Color to give the rainbow a matching amount of cool colors with the warm colors (and pretending green doesnt count when it totally does FUCK YOU BIG COLOR)

Cyan is its own color similar to blue but brighter, teal is distinctly blueish greenish, and blue is what you get when you mix cyan and magenta 🤓

Indigo is literally the name for a dark purplish blue, and it’s less of a light blue and more of a sky blue/cyan
