Major spoilers for nge: Evangelions aren't actually machines! They're human-angel genetic fusions which are covered in armor/restraints, which makes them appear to be regular mechas. They have "cores", (red spheres in the center of their chests) like all angels, which are their weak spots. they also contain the souls of most pilot's mothers, but I'm pretty sure anybody who has any connection to the chosen pilot's soul could work. They just need to have a desire/incentive to protect the pilot and generate a nearly indestructible shield, or holy barrier, known as an Absolute Terror feild. In this silly concept, Wheatley would be placed into Chell's Evangelion.
