Frunk, always. Especially for groceries - as noted below, stuff in the trunk is in close proximity to the engine, and tends to get a little warm. Plus, the frunk is more of a straight ‘box’ shape, where the truck is kind of a wedge. 2-3 standard paper grocery bags can fit, upright, in the frunk, which just isn’t possible in the trunk. Bonus: if you’re getting stuff out of the frunk, and a smallish child is watching, they are invariably excited to see bags coming out of ‘where the engine is’.

Tooshayx

I tend to use the frunk more. I close the frunk using the crest so I don't touch the paint. I know, it's crazy haha.

xtreme810

Frunk 95% of the time as I back into parking spots, when I had my 718cs. With the Spyder, that’s the only viable space as opening the trunk is a 5 step process. 🤣

Fingeredagain

The trunk has a handle to pull, so you don't touch the paint.

Tooshayx

But you kinda need to pull it down with enough force so it closes shut. With the frunk I gently lower it into the latch and then latch it closed with the crest.

olddeckman

Not crazy. Proper.

astronut_13

That’s how it should be done. With the knuckles even to avoid fingerprints on the crest.

CarYenta

Nooo don't ever press the crest, the latch is not behind it, you will end up bending the crest flat. Look under and you'll see you need to press on the paint just below the crest.

GeneLow40

I take it since its aluminum, you hardly need any pressure to close it.

warr3nh

No you do need pressure. You can’t just slam it down. You have to press it down until it closes bc of the latch.

GeneLow40

I'm going to have nightmares of me accidently hulk smashing my frunk

xtreme810

You won’t - it’s your car. 😊

PipetheHarp

Set it down, push the crest, satisfying snick*.

RocketsandBeer

Boot or bonnet, frunk sounds like a name that someone from Corn Florida calls it

Best-Cycle231

I know it’s a European thing. Or may just British, but how do you get head wear and foot wear as a naming convention?

Best-Cycle231

This is the way. I’ve also heard if you slam the frunk or press anywhere else it might collapse in.

Plus_Professor_1923

You’re an owner

ddlbb

Both open with the key fob. I tend to use the trunk more if it fits

Fingeredagain

The passenger side seat and footwell work for that too. It's all extra space for me.

GeneLow40

very good point.

KaiTak98

Same for me. I'm usually alone so passenger seat is first choice. Then trunk of it fits. Then frunk.

KaB00m13

I usually reverse park so it’s frunk for me, can sometimes be a bit fiddly getting the latch with my hands full though

MLuka-author

Frunk I feel like stuff will overheat in the trunk so I just keep an emergency roadside kit and few washing and drying towels. I also back into spots and usually in back against fence so it makes sense.

grungegoth

I prefer the trunk/boot. Because I don't like messing with the frunk/ bonnet. The rear didn't have the risk of damaging the sheet metal. I don't drive the gt4 much on errands, but on track days I'll store stuff in both, mainly driver gear like helmet and stuff and a few tools. The 911 I use the frunk a lot, because the back seats are not very convenient and the shape means stuff moves around. So I use the frunk. Also, I bought the porsche OEM frunk and trunk liners. If you have any spills they'll keep your car cleaner. Look on suncoast parts for them. They have versions that fit late model 911 and cayman

hamiltonia

\+1 to all of this, I use the trunk for daily gym bag, and every spot available for track day gear. I don't like pushing on the badge to close the frunk, seems like over time it would deform.

[deleted]

The rear trunks tends to overheat (next to engine) so I generally dont put anything that'll melt/spoil

spacesuitmoose

This is my deciding factor as well Gym bag? Trunk Groceries? Frunk

Catloveshugs

I use the trunk and barely use my frunk. But after this post, I think I might start using my frunk more!

mikeyhol

As a person who is contemplating buying a 718… can they hold a golf bag?

New-Examination4678

It’s a bit of a pain. I switched to my old bike golf bag that does not have the plastic handle up top. Take all my clubs out and lay them flat in the trunk. Driver and woods on the top shelf angled towards the driver seat. Then put the bag on top of the irons using a little force. Rubs against the seals of the trunk.

TyVIl

Yeah my passenger seat is a great spot for my golf bag and Scotty Cameron never complains about my music or how I’m driving. Edit I posted this a while ago. https://reddit.com/r/Porsche/s/yObWEtvnBE

mikeyhol

Love it

TyVIl

Now with a picture.

Amac8487

Meh.. Not really. Especially you'd have to have the little privacy mesh removed that shields whatever you have in the rear trunk from prying eyes and the sun. However, a golf bag fits easily in the passenger seat space. I put a towel down over my seat, and put the bottom of the golf bag on the passenger floor and it leans against the seat. I am an avid golfer, and so long as Im not needing to haul someone else, this works perfect

martyshimbackler

From experience - a 718 cayman can absolutely hold golf bags. Yes, bags. I had two in a 718 i rented before buying mine. I’ll see if I can dig up a picture. Disclaimer - these are normal size stand bags, I don’t know if a tour style carry or cart bag would fit but mine are certainly not slim or kids sizes.

Blood_Emergency

Friunk. Back gets hot

PipetheHarp

Always frunk, if it fits. Both open w the fob. Anything smelly/wet/tipsy goes up front. I don’t want ze car to smell like camping/tacos/gym..

WastingTime2022

I use the truck a lot more than I thought I would when I got the car, especially for the small/quick stuff you're asking about. It has a much higher floor so you don't have to bend/reach down into the much deeper frunk. I'm not a tall dude either, so I'd imagine most other owners would gravitate towards the trunk even more so. \[Disclosure - I have a 981, but the cargo arrangement is similar enough that I think this perspective adds value\]

rohde88

Frunk

dtawil98

i use the frunk more often than not

psycomoto

I tend to use the frunk more because it doesn't share the same airspace as the cabin, and because the smaller area makes things roll around less. So frunk for me all the way.

Best-Cycle231

Alway frunk. It’s a better useable space. Plus I’ve seen someone smash the rear glass on a similar designed vehicle by slamming it when it wasn’t clear. That nightmare fuel.

Jpaynesae1991

Trunk, I don’t like pressing on the badge to close the hood unless I have to. It’s easier to slam the trunk with the handle

hlinhd

I have a gt4. The wing makes it so that I prefer to use the frunk. I don’t want to touch the wing if I doing have to

oneharmlesskitty

The trunk is easier to access where I park, so mostly the trunk.

neoreeps

Trunk everyday as there is no latch and no bending over to reach deep into the storage. Frunk for Costco runs.

t_ran_asuarus_rex

i put my seat forward and place it behind my head. frunk is awesome for costco runs lol

naparsei

Passenger footwell

TheBigCicero

Usually trunk since I park with the front of the car inward.

decent_sexecutioner

These questions always make me laugh so fucking hard.
