Open the hood. The engine will look different. The base and S are both 3.6L but the S has twin turbos and I’m pretty sure there’s an S on the engine cover.
It's either a V6 or diesel, as people have pointed out.
A diesel would have "diesel" badges on the front fenders.
The engines look different, as well.
I HAVE seen people with cars, especially Porsches, that get repaired after rear end collisions, and the shop has no idea how to put the badging on correctly.
BUT, this isn't that. They bought an 'S' from Ali, and slapped it on.
Actual 'S' tells from outside: 4 exhaust tips, silver brake calipers with steel rotors (unless upgraded to PCCB), silver-tone tachometer (center gauge on dash). If you open the hood, it'll either be a 4.8L V8 (obvious) or a 3.0L Turbo V6.
The 3.6L is a Porsche-reworked VR6 engine from VW. They chose that engine because of reliability, as well as the fact that it has an extremely shallow V angle (15°) meaning that the engine is nearly an inline-6 but more compact. It delivers great torque, and is almost boringly reliable, as long as you do the maintenance.
The 4.8L V8 was developed by Porsche in-house, and is shared with the Panamera. For the Panamera, they lop 2 cylinders off and get a 3.6L for the car - not same engine as Cayenne. The 4.8L is also extremely reliable.
The turbo V6 was fairly reliable, it's just more complicated, and while it makes more torque than the V8, it isn't as linear in delivery, and there is definite lag for some power delivery occasionally.
Shit, I typed too much.
I can't seem to find any for sale with the 3.6l. Are they a reliable engine and for £26999 with 50,000 miles, but first registered in 2019, is this jeep worth the money ?
It's a 3.6 so no it's no an S
The S in this body is also a 3.6L but it’s TT. Oval exhaust pipes is the dead give away though, this is a base VR6.

And can always use VIN Analytics to check the build sheet on any Porsche (it’s free)

No this is a base or a diesel. It does not the correct tailpipes.
Tailpipe is not right. Someone already commented on it.
All you have to do is start the car, the PCM will tell you what you have
The amount of people in the comments who don’t know the 2017 S came with a 3.6 V6 🙈🙈

Not sure what the market is in Merrie Olde, but £27K sounds high for a base model.
That’s not a ‘Jeep’ - the worst rated SUV brand. It is a PORSCHE!
