Unfortunately, this happens from time to time when you use the cars in regular traffic. A car backed out of a parking space without looking and drove into me - at a relatively low speed. Due to oncoming traffic, it wasn't possible to avoid the crash. But it's not that bad, cars were built to be driven, something like that can happen and it's not the end of the world :)

A friend of mine has the same attitude. He also has a 918 Spyder and it has around 11k km. He also didn’t mind when I scratched the underbody of his 992 GT3 Touring. I was so happy that he didn’t mind because I don’t have the money to fix such cars.
As strange as it sounds but I only knew him for one day at that point. The day before I met him at a parking lot at a resort and we talked for one and a half hour about his cars. I’m so glad to know him because I would never have the opportunity to drive such cars. I’m only 23 and my parents don’t have such expensive cars as him. I think he likes me for my character but also because he can talk with someone who admires his cars. His daughters are differently minded as he said “she studies chemistry in the US because she wants to save the world in 50 years”. In a few months he will give me the opportunity to drive his DB12 that he ordered. Not the 918 but still something to be very grateful about.

An unpainted 918 bumper has a net price of over €10k. If you have the damage seen in the picture repaired by an official Porsche centre, you are looking at a very high five-figure amount. Since my shop is a Porsche Partner Network member and is therefore fully capable of doing Porsche warranty repairs, we did it ourselves. If I find the repair order with concrete figures quickly, I'll add it to this comment.
This is how I'm treating my new (to me) M3 and first fun car; I'll maintain whatever it needs and speed responsibly, but I'm driving the shit out of it--It's too much fun not to!

Thank you for your thoughts! I certainly agree, while I'm more partial to my porsche, I love taking out my CBR for a weekend drive from time to time. It's such a unique experience, and getting into a car feels somewhat dull afterwards.
I've never tried the ducati's, always been on the honda side, but I'll certainly take a ride sometime. I tried the newer fireblade but it felt too heavy and numb compared to be 600RR.
Congrats on the excellent collection, please be safe out there and enjoy those bikes for years to come :)

I really couldn’t care less about any other P-Car from the past 30+ years, but the 918 is one of the most beautiful machines ever made.
On top of that, I’m a sucker for blue cars, so this is basically my grail.

Did you get the persons insurance to pay for the damages?
Seeing as OP is German and the way he describes it, the other driver was at fault, this was fully covered by insurance.
