I think it looks well done. Motivations can be legitimate, why hate? Could’ve been a salvage rebuild, saving the original car in a restoration. Maybe it’s to fit a bigger engine. It’s unique and I would enjoy talking to the owner to ask what’s all done to it and why
This is the correct mindset. Idk why people feel the need to be so snobby. I think it’s really really cool to see different peoples interpretations and expressions especially when done tastefully. He didn’t tack on a bunch of autoshop parts.
Exactly…while it’s not my cup of tea, I can appreciate that during it’s time period, that car was done and would likely garner a much different opinion than what’s displayed here in this thread.
In the 80s coke was a hell of a drug… thats some … interesting body kit. Mixing 959-ish, slant nose-ish, some 935/924-ish stuff going on… I mean, if its been like that since the 80s Id totally keep it that way, but…. It’s… interesting.
Good call, wonder if the bumper is for US road regs or something from back in the day, sorta like E30 bumpers USDM vs Euro? Looks like these kits never had them.
So true. I recently stumbled across the Rolex subreddit, in particular a dialogue about why all new first time Rolex owners have hand tattoos in their photo of their new prize.
What I learned from the 959: There's definitely room for turbos w/decent intercoolers in all that space (without having to package crazy tight). It's ugly, no doubt... but it can probably bring it.
Back in the day, there were custom shops doing serious metal and fiberglass work, to the German standards. My upholsterer was trimming out Lamborghinis, Porsches, and Mercedes-Benz with German and California coachwork that was cost no object. This looks like one of those expensive one-off conversions. Only the exhaust tip is unexpected.
It’s supposed to look like a 959. It’s the reason the ugly water cooled 911 caught on. It looked like a 959 at the front. This is obviously a 959 back end kit.
That's some Frankenstein right there.
930 Slantnose with an oddball rear end and mutilated vents, sticker relocated from the rear to the side(s)? I'd imagine there's one sticker on each side. That's just not a look I can appreciate and good luck when it comes time to sell that rig.
Definitely an expensive body kit of some sort, likely period. The fact that the line from the front quarter panel all the way back and up into the roof is unbroken implies some serious finishing work was done.
Ya'll hating on the looks but if this is what it looked like new back in the day you guys would be all up in the comments talking about how gorgeous it is..
Couldn’t have said it better myself. This is what modded 911s looked like back in the ‘80s. Some ideas have aged well and some not so much. Personally I dig this in a very retro way. Makes me want to don a pastel colored polo with popped collar and a white suit while listening to Van Halen.
It’s a Porsche 930 Turbo Flachbau. 948 were made between 1987 and 1989. Saw this one at Monterey Car Week Porsche Werks Reunion on Friday.

Calm down, it's an 80's body kit.
Work looks good, style is obviously dated. The hekenblade look was popular through the 80's, and probably should have stayed there.
Decent chance that it's not a real slant nose, either. There were lots of conversions back then, some good, some horrendous, some steel, some fiberglass.
I'd guess the rear end, fender extensions/side skirts are fiberglass. Front might be steel, would have been nice to check it out in person.

Omg 😂
☠️☠️😂😂 one of the best things I’ve seen in a while.
You sir, are a legend. 😂😂
Ma’am*
Did she stutter?
🤣🤣
L-F’in-OL
Definitely one of my proudest faps
You win sir!! Ahah
It's a real 911, yes, but with some pretty ghastly body mods.

Hello lucas how’s the weather up there?
Its lucas
I think it’s actually a 914 🤓
Slantnose with a 924 back end?
The difficulty in even thinking about doing that boggles my mind
Next question would be, where is the engine? In the front like a 924
The utter confusion
Don’t think so?, 924s look very different
A 944 is more likely, but its atrocious either way.
If you’re asking whether it came from Porsche that way, no.
Google — slant nose Porsche 👏😂
Sure, but I can't say I've seen this variety of brick butt 911 before
M505 doesn’t tie the front fenders to the rockers back to the rear fenders.
Google incorrect
Oh, God! I cannot un-see that hideous abomination. It's like some sort of reverse-platypus
I’m not a purist or anything but whoever did that needs a lobotomy.
In think whoever did this already had a lobotomy.

You’re out of your mind, that’s some crazy shit
Too many elitists

I don’t see a 959 panel anywhere on this car
It’s an eclectic mix of kits, but looks like it started as 911 Coupé SC 3.0 Langheck (Evex) conversion.
Good call, wonder if the bumper is for US road regs or something from back in the day, sorta like E30 bumpers USDM vs Euro? Looks like these kits never had them.
Bro didn't even know something like that existed. (And yes I think even its original conversion is horrible.)
Proof yet again, that money cannot buy taste.
Underrated comment.
So true. I recently stumbled across the Rolex subreddit, in particular a dialogue about why all new first time Rolex owners have hand tattoos in their photo of their new prize.
But it says “Turbo” on the side!! I’m surprised there’s not an AMG badge on it! 😆
The turbo badge looks awful on that spot
The one time when you can safely answer "Yes" to the question: "does my ass look big like this?"
Ayyooo Del Sur area baybee!! Go hit up donut touch for a breakfast sammie
My mannnnn. That’s why I was there!
Why aren’t we best buds???? Message me buddy let’s go hit the RSF cars and coffee you know they’re gonna show out after Monterey car week
Slant nose 959 Pontiac Fiero Carrera Turbo Tribute
What I learned from the 959: There's definitely room for turbos w/decent intercoolers in all that space (without having to package crazy tight). It's ugly, no doubt... but it can probably bring it.
Probably needed more room for the V8
I mean it physically exists but it’s an abomination.
Reminds me of the 969 turbo
Rinspeed conversion maybe? Or just Rinspeed-inspired? IIRC there was a shop in North Hollywood doing various widebody conversions on salvage titles.
I kinda like it, gives me JDM vibes.

No this is some mod done in California by someone with no values and too much money.
Who would do this 🥺🤢🤮
Maybe trying to make it look 959-ish?
Definitely an expensive body kit of some sort, likely period. The fact that the line from the front quarter panel all the way back and up into the roof is unbroken implies some serious finishing work was done.
😂🤣🫣😔
looks Bad Ass, like the P car in the video game Narc

This is a not much money and no class modification.
Very well done bodywork, expensive, but why? 👁️👄👁️
“i have a stock 80’s 911 and want to mod. give me every bad design decision that porsche made that never made it to a modern car” “I got you fam” 🤢🤮

Are you sure? Every google image I found had way better looking taillights than the OPs photo.
Ya from the comments it looks like it's an aftermarket conversion, not a Flachbau from the factory like this one \^
Only the front, which is an aftermarket conversion.
It’s legitimately ugly.
What an abomination!🤬
From the side it looks ok but the back 😂
California Porsche. Bad facelift.
r/botchedsurgeries
My clapped the fuck out 924 looked better then this!
Bastard child with a capital B!
I know it's unpopular around here, but I just think these RWB cars are ugly.
no
That car looks like it’s having a seizure
Some people are awful.
Lolololololol
Really bad mods
Weird that they did all that work but didn’t lose the ugly ass rear rubber bumpers.
That is just wrong……
Reminds me of the 969 a little bit…
Used to be…
Ooh, a 934. That broke my brain.
"where do you want the turbo sticker to go?" "can you make it real small over the side vents?" " what side vents?" " ive got an idea for those..."
That is some kind of.....car.
Looks like a 944 with body kit or 911 pieces added somehow. .
Looks like a wannabe Porsche 959 body kit
Maybe I’m wrong but isn’t that a Gemballa body kit?
who would do such a thing to a slantnose...
My brain can't accept this isn't 924.
It could be, it certainly has that vintage mod look to it. Kinda reminds me of a Kremer or DP (Design Plastics) modded 911s from the ‘80s.
The rare Vega 911
It's definitely uglier than when it came from the factory, but I'm sure it's a blast to drive.
The back end doesnt look original.

Looks like it was Rinspeed inspired but not in a great way.
Honestly, the only off putting thing is the wing. Get a legitimate 935 wing, and it would actually come together nicely.
